After the first date, what are some indicators that the girl doesn't want you to ask her out on a second date?

All the ones June Lin brought up are very classic indicators that you've sunk your first date, with slight exceptions. Here's a few more for you that are common from what I've seen as well.* If she doesn't text you within a few hours after you've dropped her off or walked her home, especially if this is in the evening, it means that she's not interested. When she has a good time on the first date, she'll almost always be excited and happy after leaving your company. At this time, she'll either want to talk to her friends/roommates/sister or whoever she's close to about you and/or text you to let you know she had a good time, or even just to say something like "good night, sweet dreams".* Chances are, if you can't get her to agree to a second date while you are still on your first date, it means she's not that into you. The best time to ask her out again is while you're still with her in person. If she's having a good time with you now, she'll rest assured knowing that you want to take her out again, and you've set a time and date for that. No, this doesn't make you look clingy. If anything, it shows a girl that you're into her and sets clear expectations.* If you haven't seen her smile at you for longer than 15minutes, even when you're trying to be charming, you have no chance in hell of getting a 2nd date. Plain and simple. She should be laughing at your most retarded jokes and just smiling unconsciously if she's having a good time.*  I find that what she says to you and how she says goodbye to you is actually not an accurate indicator if she's into you or not. This is because every girl is different - it could be cultural, traditional, influenced by family or just her own personality. Some girls are more shy, or not used to hugging a guy as a way to say hi or goodbye to a guy, don't let this discourage you in any way. What she says to you could be influenced by the same factors, she could be nervous or also just lack the experience to know what to say appropriately at that moment. So don't be discouraged if this happens to you guys, if she ends up calling or texting you later, it most likely means she's interested. Also, don't be afraid to follow up and give her a buzz, some girls don't show any obvious signs of interest until further along the process.
