What are some of the hindi songs that sound really good on piano?
You have had some expert answers from people more qualified than me to speak on Hindu music. My only word of caution about Hindu music played on the piano, is the Western equal temperament tuning of the piano.This has been at the forefront in Western music of many of the HARMONIC developments of approaching 300 years; but at the expense of some of the microtonal melodic subtleties found in Eastern music. I would regret if the all-pervasiveness of Western temperament ever compromised the distinctiveness of Hindu culture. However, maybe this is just a purist Western response.
Good audition songs for altos?
im a fifteen year old with a low soprano to high tenor range... i have pretty good control and i can sing anywhere from a soft head voice to a belted chest voice... im in a really really good highschool a cappella group that is reauditioning all of its members for the coming year. It took me FOREVER to come up with a song last year so i was hoping maybe you guys could help. any ideas?
What is a good song for the money dance?
Usually it is done to slower songs - songs you might consider "slow dance" songs. I've occasionally played an up-tempo one but the vast majority are done to slow songs. Typical ones I suggest are "supportive" songs that had to do with friends such as Jackson 5's "I"ll Be There" or Whitney Houston's "Count On Me" or Mariah Carey's "Anytime You Need A Friend", Michael W. Smith's "Friends". If you want something a little more trendy (but traditional as Frank Sinatra has a great version), I really like playing Michael Buble's version of "The Way You Look Tonight". It's a little more of a mid-tempo also so if you're not into all the hugging and such from your guests you might appreciate it. My final suggestion is to tell your DJ to continue to play music as long as there are people in line to dance with one (or both) of you. You don't want to leave anyone hanging or out to dry.
