Got A Student Job At Tim Hortons

How is it to work at tim hortons?

Working at Tim Hortons is fun, however it can be really busy and Stressful. The people that you will work with will likely be amazing and it will keep you going to work everyday. Its good minimum wage work, not at all greasy, good training, good staff, good management system, fair hours, you most likely will receive a lot of benefits as well as free uniforms. Yes you have to wear a hairnet, but they provide it and its virtually unnoticeable by yourself and the customers. You will have a lot of chance for advancement from counter to drive thru to sandwich unit and they may even train you for more. Working evenings is great, the pace is just right and the people are all generally student aged (I assume you are?).
Production is fun. I am a supervisor at Tim Hortons and am fully cross trained for every job in the store. Baking has its advantages and disadvantages. You will have to be able to keep up to demand in peak periods by keeping the showcase stocked and making enough product, however they will train you and you should be able to function perfectly after training, its more of a routine then anything else.
What the best solution for you would be to be is ask to be cross trained so that you can bake and work storefront.

Should you have any questions just ask, I can answer them with ease.

How do I get an urgent job at Tim Hortons in Montreal?

I remember in my early 20s moving to Montreal with no job, no apartment, no anything. It was either land a job or live on the street type deal.I needed to do something, I decided to go to temporary staffing place Adecco close to Pointe Claire. I bet you could get a temp job at a warehouse much better than working at timmies. My advice try to find a temporary staffing agency to get a job fast, it may not be the best job but a good way to get on your feet and stable.

Is Working at Tim Hortons Hard?

I have a friend who works at Tim Horton, she find the night shift the best but then again she not in school...she says day time is stressful due to the morning rush but since you are in high school afternoon shift shouldn't be all that bad. The hours are normally if you plan on working full time hours is 7am-3pm , 3-11pm or 11pm- 7am depending on the store location. ( I don't know if this applies to part time) The pay is alright for min. wage.

By the way everyone has to clean the bathrooms comes with the job duties...production is the bakery and storefront is cash...

And you should always give a resume when you hand in your Application.

When I worked at Tim's I had a great time meeting new people. Just like every job, stress comes with it and the people you meet will only make the job more enjoyable.

Should I work at Tim Horton's or mcdonald's?

I worked at Mcdonalds. I have never hated a place so much in my life. There food inst free, in fact you'll find most food places dont give you free food even when you work. you get a discount, but that's about it. The customers that com into mcdonalds are the worst people i have ever met. It was only my second day, and they train you on the cash register first, i made a few mistakes, but it was only my second day! The customers were YELLING at me, and they talk sooooo fast! I couldnt evne understand them!
Never work at Mcdonalds. But then agian i havent heard the greatest things about Tim Hortons either

How old do you have to be to work at Tim Horton's in Canada?

Many Timmie's outlets will hire 14 year olds now because it is so difficult to get people to work in the fast food industry generally. In my area the employees at Tim's tend to be a little older and a lot of retired people take part time jobs at Timmies.

How to Survive the Night Shift at Tim Hortons?

Here's the deal. I'm 16. Still in high school. Been working at Tim Hortons for little over a month.

I went on a vacation this last week, and came back a couple hours ago. I made sure to book off exactly the right amount of time from my part-time job at Tim Hortons, including today. However, when I went in and asked for the schedule, I had been booked for TWO midnight shifts, from 10pm-6am, one of them TONIGHT, on the day I had booked off. Obviously, I was flustered and told the assistant manager that I couldn't POSSIBLY do my first midnight shift tonight, after I'd been jetlagged and travelling all day. He said that I would get in trouble for giving him less than three hours notice, and that I'd probably be written up. I was frustrated and almost started crying, and said that I had booked the day off. He just shrugged.

I could have done the early morning shift tomorrow after getting back today. I could have worked the afternoon tomorrow. But I just HAD to be booked for an all-nighter. The worst-case-scenario come to light.

Either way, I still have a midnight shift for tomorrow night. How the hell am I supposed to survive that, especially since I've NEVER done one of those before. I'm 16 for PETE'S SAKE. I have a shiiiiiiiiitload of homework and stuff to do to catch up. What do I do? Will the shift be boring? What will it be like? How can I make it not boring? And how much of an ironic sonofabitch is my scheduling?

Any answer would be thrilling to read in my frustrated state of mind.
