Am I eligible for a government job after doing a graduation from IGNOU distance education?
There are two aspect of this question. One is around IGNOU and another is around distance education.IGNOU is trusted and accredited government distance education university. They are approved by UGC, AICTE both. So there is no question of the validity of degree awarded by IGNOU now or in future.Second aspect is around distance education. Yes it is true that degrees from open universities not considered for all types of jobs or vacancies. 10–15 years earlier, most of government jobs demand about regular courses. Currently this trend has changed. Now a days if we look at most of government vacancies they do not talk about regular degree. They rather say something like :A degree from a University established by law in India or a degree recognized by the Government.In both cases IGNOU degree are eligible!However, today also you may find few government or private companies like TCS which does not consider candidates from distance education. There number are very less and so you will not find difficulty in finding suitable job with IGNOU degree. More or less it also depends on the degree itself.Engineering or B.Ed regular degree are still considered better then distance degree. Is AMIE valid for government jobs without recognition?
No . AMIE cannot be valid without recognition from AICTE for government jobs.It cannot be valid even for private jobs as well where basic requirement is graduation in engineering.The issue if recognition is likely to get resolved very soon after which there will not be any question regarding validity of AMIE for any job opportunities.
