What is your opinion of NYU's ITP program? Specifically, how is it similar and how is it different from a more traditional HCI program? How useful is it for finding work if you want to do product design or interaction design?

the lack of focus anon talks about is specifically on skills, which is a more tangible and measurable form of focus. If you let it happen, ITP allows you to focus on the thing that matters: whatever you want to accomplish, the thing that ends up in people's hands, the story that moves people in the direction you want. You can't get that kind of determination by being skill bent - you get it by being tool agnostic and allowing people to pick things up as needed and using them to get their point across. This means using a screwdriver as a hammer, an excel spreadsheet as a web app prototype and everyone around you as a soundboard and source of advice and inspiration. You simply cannot do that if you constrain the program around a traditional framework like architecture, HCI, CS. It has to be able to be interpreted in disagreeing directions by the hundreds of students there at the same time. This tug of war is the focus. It is impossible to make your way around most tech/media/design related company in the 5 boroughs without encountering a crew of ITP alums. For every company founded by an ITP alum, there's 20 people explaining ITP and doing real work that ships to users within the trenches. It's a loose knit crew, and one of the reasons we're so loose is that you never know which department or industry you'll find us in. Design, product, UX, bizdev, R&D, education, non profits, hardware, support, software. You name it, I can give you names off the top of my head. The value lies in all these people in different kind of positions having a strong user/application oriented ethos in their work - we don't always agree on the tactical, but that's one of the joys. All this being said, it's quite simply not for everybody. Many people require a more rigorous and directed skill oriented focus in an academic environment. I always tell people interested in ITP the same thing: look at the list of classes offered in a single semester. If you want to take more than half of them at the same time, you're in the right place. If you thought of 5 different things you've always wanted to make as you read that list, you're in the right place. If the only thing you know about ITP is foursquare, you're probably in the wrong place. (4sq user 3065 represent - WHAT).

History of barack obama?

Illinois right?

Can you tell me a little bit 'bout educational system in America? What I need to do to become a good student?

Not all US high schools are as bad as that other poster made them out to be. I should know, I went to one. The problem most of the bad schools have isthat they are filled with stupid poor people. Avoid inner city schools.

In general what you want to do to be a good student is just make the teachers think you are trying hard. If you do that they will grade you easier and give you the benfit of the doubt in most circumstances.
Yes, you shoucl participate in extracurricular activities. They look good on applications and they keep you busy so you dont fall in with a crowd of drug addict losers.

On yahoo answers, how do u get up to a higher level?

Keep answering questions and hopefully get picked for some best answers for the big 10 point bonus. Picking best answers will also get you a point. left click your points or level and it will take you to the points and level page to explain it all in detail. The Movie Chicago, is great. I love Catherine Zeta Jones.
