that's all i could think of..... if you still have nay questions, email me! I read the book in Honors English and absolutely loved it!!!

The great gatsby myrtle wilson?

"Daisy Daisy Daisy- I'll say it all I want, Daisy Daisy Daisy!!!"
-Chapter 2

"Beat me damn you- beat me til' I die!"
-Chapter 7 (right before she dies)

The Money question I don't know- I do not really know any quotes that she says that invilve money

What are some of Myrtle Wilson from great gatsby best and worse qualities?

Sorry if this is too late
Best she has a "tremendous vitality" a quote from chapter 7 when she dies
and she isn't scared of men ‘Throw me down and beat me, you dirty little coward!’
and she will do anything to achieve her dream of becoming Tom's wife, even running out in front (of what she assumes) is his car

Worst
she reads "some of the small scandal magazines of Broadway" which aren't particularly intellectual
this stupidity is also seen when she runs in front of a moving car! (seriously wtf)
she is ugly "Her face…contained no facet or gleam of beauty"
obsessed with status "he isn't fit to lick my shoe" and money, when she found out her husband had to borrow a suit for their wedding she wept
She tries to be like Daisy but fails, Daisy always wears white to represent he purity "she dressed in white, and had a little white roadster" but Myrtles dress is cream, which is like white but a bit grubby. I think that sums her up perfectly

What is the exact quote from "The Great Gatsby" that Myrtle Wilson says...?

I married him because I thought he was a gentleman...I thought he knew something about breeding, but he wasn't fit to lick my shoe. The Great Gatsby Chapter 2, Myrtle about George Wilson.

He borrowed somebody's best suit to get married in, and never told me about it, and the man came after it one day when he was out...I gave it to him and then I lay down and cried...all afternoon. The Great Gatsby Chapter 2, Myrtle about George

She was also an indicator of Tom's hypocrisy as well as the overall moral turpitude of that whole class of people.

Unfortunately, you've got to read the book to make these answers have sense and context. Or at least watch the movie with Robert Redford and Mia Farrow. From what I recall, it's reasonably close to the book.

What do the deaths of Myrtle, Mr. Wilson, and Gatsby represent about the American Dream?

Is there a character like Myrtle Wilson in The Great Gatsby in any other books about the 20s?

First off, Myrtle Wilson is loud, presumptuous, crude, immoral, pseudo-intellectual, given to shelling out supercilious advice. She’s meant to be the lower-class version of Tom Buchanan. So who is she like? If you think of her as an imposter of sorts, then you might considerPassing by Nella Larsen: Clare Kendry tries to pass as white in a racially charged world (This might be 1920s)The Wonderful Wizard of OzThomas RipleyPip and the convict in Great ExpectationsIf you consider Myrtle to be a gold digger, then there are several characters that fit that description:Vanity Fair: Becky SharpeHuckleberry Finn: The King and the DukeBreakfast at Tiffany’s: Holly GolightlyBut you’re looking at the 1920s:Point Counter Point by Aldous Huxley; various characters are self-serving individuals looking to better themselves through various meansThe Painted Veil by Somerset Maugham: Garstin (infidelity and desire to “better herself”)Twilight Sleep by Edith Wharton: Gladys ToyThe Beautiful and the Damned by F. Forster: Miss DerekBig Blonde by Dorothy Parker (aging party girl who has to keep up the pretense of being that party girl to remain with the men around her; see Gentlemen Prefer Blondes by Anita Loos for the not-so-aging party girl. These two probably contrast with Myrtle more than match her.)To be honest, I cannot think of one character who is a great match to Myrtle or plays such a significant role, but these might help. Good luck.

Why does George Wilson kill Gatsby in The Great Gatsby?

Because Wilson believes that Gatsby was driving a car that killed his wife, when in fact it is strongly suggested that it was Daisy Buchanan. Gatsby plans to protect Daisy by saying that he was the one who was driving despite the fact that Daisy has no intention of revealing her wrongdoing. Tom Buchanan, Daisies husband, tells Wilson that Gatsby killed Myrtle because he hopes that he will kill him. Additionally it is possible that, since Myrtle was Tom’s mistress, that he felt genuine sadness, that was then employed to destroy Gatsby.Daisy, who is perfectly aware of this situation feels little sadness of regret and instead continues on with Tom. The vision of Tom and Daisy sitting together with no remorse for what they have done is one of American literatures most sinister images.
