What is it like to be a female gamer who disguises her gender? What leads to this decision and how is gaming different?
When you are playing an MMO, you can either be a gamer or you can be a girl. Not both.Because soooo many guys play female characters (to stare at their butts, I’m told) you can still play with a toon you prefer and no one assumes you are actually female. Actually, if you buy a cosmetic outfit that looks like you have a night job swinging on a pole down at the Wayward Lobster, they are sure you are a guy.When you play without using voice and only typing, you get treated like anyone else, meaning you get treated like a guy. You earn what you get and people assess your abilities based on your actual skills.When you play using voice, dudes change how they play. They try to “protect” you. They watch you for heals, intercept enemies, and “make sure you are caught up.” Don’t want the little lady getting lost.They offer me all the best gear, often insisting I take it. (Dude, I have three of those rare things in the bank. If you give it to me, I’m selling it to a vendor.) They ask me if I’m ready before starting a big fight. They kill me with kindness.Basically, they play the game for me. How exactly, does anyone think that is fun? Do they think I just login to be handed gear and XP, then log back off?Or on the reverse side, they insist I stay in the back, call me out if I die, and get offended if my kill count is higher. The ones with a chip on their shoulder watch me play just as much as the “nice guys” and all of them are critiquing me with their preconceived notions of how a “girl” plays.As if.I’ve been playing an MMO for 6 years and pretty much the only people who know I’m female are in my guild. I chose this guild because they treat me like a normal person.I’m not an “I’m a girl, give me stuff” person nor am I an “I’m a girl and I’m going to kick your ass to prove a point” person. I just want to spend a few hours lost in another world, earning my own accomplishments.***ETA A funny story.You never know how many of you there are.I was once in a difficult raid (12 people) that took about an hour to run. At the successful end of the raid, as people were leaving the party, one after another female voice said, “Thanks! Good run.”Turns out there were seven of us. One of the smoothest raids I have ever run.
On world of warcraft, when you buy a guild bank tab do you get the money back when you disband or just lose it
I created my own guild mainly for my alts and to be able to use the guild bank feature, but I am wanting to create another one since you can't change names. Do I just lose the money I've put into buying tabs for the guild vault or can I get it back when I disband the guild?
How do you buy bank and bag slots in WOW?
In the bank at the bottom there is a row of bag slots that are red if you have not bought them or the usual grey/brown if you have bought them. Off to the right is a button to purchase these. The first ones are not too much but the later ones cost 25g (I think) a peice to unlock. Then you get a bag and put it in that slot and you have extra space equal to the bags slots. If you are still having problems with room, many people create a bank character. Make a new character on the same server and run them to the nearest big city depending on your race without worring about leveling. Then simply mail the items from other characters to this one and let this character bank those items. Remember though that this means that you will not have easy access to those items because they will have to be mailed back. This is usually done with gear or items that you cannot use yet or stuff you don't need real quick.

Yeh when Catharina flood comes the government should stay out, when the the mortgage companies and banks scandalize people the government should stay out, when elderly poor people are dying from hunger the government will stay out, when they are dying from sickness the government will stay out, when the poor can not send their children to college the government should stay out, when there is discrimination the government will stay out, when the chemical companies pollute the air, lakes and rivers the government will stay out, when the automobile industry their autos have high poisonous emissions the government will stay out, when drug companies bring unsafe drugs to the market the government will stay out.
