Guitar Store Tomorrow

Can I play guitar with a missing string?

Walmart is at least an hour away and it's 10:30 PM. I don't have any friends who play either. I do have another guitar but it's electric and I was planning to write an acoustic song, but I can do electric if I need to.

How long will it take to get a guitar restrung?

I understand about your bridge pin.
Sometimes they can get stuck if they've been in for a while.
I've actually been known to busted a few, even when I was being careful.
Course, I wasn't smart like you and didn't think to take it to the shop.
Then I had to go to the shop anyway to get new pins!!
*sigh*
It should only take them a few minutes.
They shouldn't charge you anything.
And watch carefully how they do it like the other answerer said.
There really are quite a few ways to string it.
Some better than others.
And some so wrong your strings will never stay in tune no matter what you do.

The output connector of my guitar fell off?

If you have the nut that fastens the output jack then you should be able to fix this (unless you have like seven hundred thumbs).

There's a cover on the back side of the guitar, opposite of the controls. Open that one but take care not to loose any washers or similar which may fall out with the loose jack.

Place the washer/s on the shaft of the jack (if there are any in being used). You'll then bring the jack shaft out through the hole in the guitar and fasten the nut with your fingers first. Be absolutely certain that the wires haven't come loose, that they are not being twisted or that they are shorting out the connection.

Hold the jack with you fingers or a needle nose pliers while you tighten the nut as much as you can with you fingers.

You will then use a wrench or some other tool to tighten the nut further - all while you hold the jack in place and make sure it does not rotate. Be very careful not to loose the grip while you tighten the nut! Any scratches will be there to remind you for ever...

You don't need to go hard on the tightening, just enough to get you up and running. Fasten the back plate and play on - you will then take the guitar to a store and have them tightening the nut properly for you.

Good luck!

What is the name of a rock song is that has very fast guitar playing and the singer in it says something like don't go crazy at the end?

Honestly, don’t bother about it that much now. However, keep this app called TrackID (I am not advertising this app) and when that song goes again, take your phone, record the song with trackID, and the app will search the song for you. I have used this app on the go to recognize most English songs available on the radio, but most likely won’t work if you record a less known local language.

What is the best way to sell my Taylor Big Baby Guitar? Pawn Shop or Music Exchange Store?

Neither one will give you anything close to what that guitar is worth. I you had time to sell it thought Craig's list, that would be a much better idea. Pawn shops are likely to only offer you $20 or $25. They don't really want the guitar, they want to loan you a small about of money and hold the guitar as collateral. They really want you to come back and buy it back from them plus interest. Music stores will seldom buy a guitar (unless it's a high demand guitar or collectors item). They will usually only take a used guitar on a trade-in basis. There might be a consignment store in town that will take the guitar and if they are able to sell it, they will send you a check for your share. Not as good a deal as Craig's list or eBay. If I were you I'd try to have a friend or family member sell it for me and send me a check and I'd give them a commission for their efforts.

When is the best time to shop at Guitar Center?

I rejoiced when GC came to my town in 99. At last a place with a 30 day no hassle return policy. So even if what you get him is not exactly "right" he can return it and get different or money back.
As far as coupons and discounts go, they are required to post various brands not covered by offer. Generally you can ignore that as they do. I've gotten 15% off even after sale ended on guitar supposedly excluded.
Don't buy too early if you want it for a Christmas gift: the 30 days return policy starts when you buy it. Maybe mid December would be a good time. You might also want to educate yourself on the +/- of various models and pay close attention to what boyfriend get in order to have greater chance on hitting that home run.
You might also update with model of guitar you are considering. Good luck.

Does Walmart sell guitar strings?

I have a broken guitar string and it being Sunday, none of the local music stores are open. They won't be open tomorrow either since it's Labor Day. I'm just looking for a cheap temporary replacement.

Is it good to buy an acoustic guitar from Flipkart?

As a guitar player, I would strongly advise against buying a guitar from an online marketplace like Flipkart. While you might be tempted by a discount, you will be entirely in the blind about the sound and feel of the instrument.I remember buying my first acoustic- a Granada semi, in 2011. At that time, a website called Bajaao was just starting out as an online seller of instruments. I remember asking some fellow musicians and all of them suggested that I go the store and buy it- only after getting a feel of it. I didn’t understand it back then but I was convinced once I visited the store and played a few guitars on display.Because these instruments are hand-crafted, each has its own unique sound that differs slightly from the next one, even though both may be the same model. Not only does getting a feel help you pick one based on the sound you like, the presence of other, possibly more experienced musicians jamming/getting a feel around the store and also the in-store staff, with their help and suggestions, helps you make a much better choice.Happy jamming :)
