Guitar Suggetions For $100 Or Under

Which Acoustic Guitar Is Better?

Yamaha F326 or Alvarez Regent 5225? Both of those guitars are selling for $100 on Craigslist, and I'm wondering if it'd probably be best if I just save my money. I've got roughly a $150 budget to buy another acoustic guitar (I've already got a Takamine G40). All suggestions of a guitar that'd fit my budget are welcome! Thank you so much for answering :)

If I bought a guitar for less than $100 dollars, is it considered a piece of crap?

Under 100 dollars is pretty cheap for a new guitar, I recommend you get a new one because you probably don't know potential problems to look for on a used guitar, especially an acoustic. If under 100 is all you can spend on one then go for it, but I would say at least 100-200 range for your first one. Even if you find out you don't like it you could make most of your money back by selling it.

Jasmine by Takamine is a good starter $160 ish
Alvarez - good brand 160-200+
Fender (not squire)- can find some models under 200

I'm personally not a big yamaha fan, IMO might as well buy that 80 instead

A couple of important tips I tell everyone starting:

1) Have your new guitar set-up from a professional guitar tech at a local guitar store. ($30 or so) This is especially important for new players beacuse they will set the action of the strings lower so it's easier to play. Also an experienced tech can pull out the full potential of any guitar, even a $100 one, making it sound like a more expensive guitar.

2) Buy a guitar stand, (10-20 bucks) This will make your guitar more accessible and you'll be more apt to pick it up and practice. Trust me on this one.. =)

Good Luck!

What are the best electric guitars under $100?

Here is an alternative you might not think of to get a reasonable quality new for under $100 - build it yourself. There are a number of Tele-copy and Strat-like kits you can purchase for under $100. I’m assuming US dollars, the question did not state origin country and generally only my USA friends are cheeky enough to assume they are the default.Normally these are unfinished, but finish can be found cheaply. And, as you progress you can upgrade components as your finances improve. After all, if you build it, and set it up, you’ll know how. I’ve attached one I built - base price was less than $100. The thing that makes it quality more than anything else is the amount of time you put into the setup.Try fleabay. Or google any number of the kits sellers online.

I am a complete beginner. Which acoustic guitar should I buy in the USA between $50-$100?

As has been mentioned before, there are a lot of great guitars in that price range these days. The Woodstock Vintage, Jasmine F35, or the Fender FA100 can all be sourced from around that price. If you can stretch your budget I’d recommend something like the Cordoba C5 (nylon string, a bit softer on the fingers), or Epiphone DA100 (steel string, a bit brighter sounding)If your really serious about wanting to learn, dont buy a crap guitar. If you can, go to a store and have a look. Even if you end up buying the guitar you like the best online, at least you’ll have more of an idea of what you like. Its also worth watching reviews online, for example Online Reviews Of The Best Acoustic Guitar has some good ones of some of these guitarsGood luck with your journey to become a guitarist. I was just saying to someone that it is one of the most therapeutic activities I know of, when I am stressed I reach for my guitar, and it all falls away.

Guitars: If I am buying a $100 practice amp, should I buy a $17 2-year service plan?

If buying a $100 practice amp, should I spring for the $17 2-year warranty?I think not.  There are a few reasons I don't think you should get the warranty.  The first reason is that it's high for any type warranty -- my Razer gaming mouse had a $10 warranty for 3 years "no questions replacement".  Also, guitar amps are generally fairly sturdy.  The manufacturers limited warranty should be enough -- if it goes in the first 30 days, the store should reimburse you.  If it lasts past 30 days, I think it will last for more than 2 years.  The second reason I don't think you should get it is because it's a $100 practice amp.  This isn't some gig worthy tube behemoth.  You won't be getting much for $100, I am sorry to say.  It's likely a 15 watt solid state or close to that.  Now, as a guitarist, I've been guilty of owning these at a few points over the years.  I picked them up in pawn shops or trades.  There is nothing like a non-quality amplifier to ruin the sound of your playing.  Your guitar can only shine through with a good amp.  That said, not everyone can afford a tube amp straight off the hop.  Even I had to save up for the small tube head and speaker cabinet which I have (and love).  What I have found is a good compromise is to hook up your guitar to an audio interface and use computer amp simulation.  You can also buy pedals that simulate amps (Sansamp... Boss made a couple too).  Audio interfaces start at $50 and go into the many thousands.  You just need to connect the 1/4" jack and you want zero latency.  Then you can spend your money (or find a creative means to obtain) one of the many fine amp and effect modelling programs and wear either quality headphones or buy some monitor speakers.  This is one of those cases when you might look at what Line 6 has to offer... also Zoom has a multi-effects pedal that doubles as an audio interface that has been out for a few years.I wish you luck and hope you can get the maximum rocking out of your budget.

Is an acoustic guitar under $100 good enough for a self learned beginner?

While it's certainly possible to find a suitable sub-$100 acoustic to start with, I'd advise against it––unless you know someone super knowledgeable to take along with you when you buy.Buying used will generally get you a nicer guitar for less money. (Again, the caveat being that you'll need someone knowledgeable with you to steer you clear of the clunkers.)Buying from an online shop like Sweetwater or Elderly (instead of Musician's Friend or Guitar Center, etc) will get you a better set up instrument. That's like being given $75 for free.Seagulls are the slam-dunk winner in the bang-for-the-buck department. New ones start at $300, but you can probably find a used one for half that, and it'll be at least three times nicer than a $100 acoustic.Good luck!

Which are the cheap and best electric guitar under 10k?

I bought a Vault Guitar (model RG1RW) from Bajaao.com for 8.5k. I am quite happy as my copy came set up pretty well. Although its cheap, it holds tune well and also the pick ups are very decent. The negatives are the fit and finish. The paint job is not as good as a Fender or a Epiphone but its more than enough for a beginner like me.However do keep in mind that buying guitar online is not a very good idea, especially for a beginner. I would suggest go to your nearest musical shop and get a feel of the guitars before buying. And please don't go for the cheap local brands like Givson (not Gibson), Juarez(not Ibanez), Yemaha(not Yamaha). Apart from the obvious plagiarism issues, such guitars seldom turn out to be fine. I would suggest Cort X1 and Squier Bullet. These two are very nice guitar for beginners. Best of luck.
