Guys Help Me Out With My Story For My School Magazine

What is the funniest thing ever happend in everyone's school life?

Once we had an English solo song competition in our school. Since my school (Ramjas Public School, Anand Parvat, Delhi) was not a convent or Christian school but a normal public school which had more of desi folks, where we students normally didn't use to listen to English songs. So for that sake my English teacher planned for an english solo song competition as a part of internal assessment when I was in class 9.We were given 3 days to prepare a song of our choice. All of us downloaded and discussed what all songs we were about to sing in the class. While getting busy for preparations I forgot to tell one of my classmate who was absent on the day when the teacher announced for the competition. On the competition day we were revising and singing our songs in front of each other and trying to correct our mistakes in the morning time. The friend who was absent came on the competition day after recovering from illness. He was worried but though he was the naughtiest kid of the class he said I will manage don't worry. When we asked "how?" He responded you just wait and watch. Few of us sang the song. Some stuck while some did it easily. When my friend's turn came he took a pause and started singing "Brazil taa ra ra ra ra raa, taa ra ra ra ra raa brazil" (this was the most played song on weddings and dj at that time) The whole class laughed like mad. The english teacher's face was a mix of humor and anger at that time. She was confused with her feelings. She wanted to laugh and be angry at the same time. This song has only 1 word "brazil" and rest music so it was legally an English song. He got 2 on 10 but we classmates got a memory worth remembering.

Magazine Help: Seventeen vs. Others + How to Convince My Parents to Let Me Read It... Please Answer!?

Hi, so I'm in seventh grade, and I'm a little bit lost when it comes to magazines. I'd like to have a subscription to a magazine. This is like a multi-part question, so it would be fabulous if you could answer to all my questions, but if not, please tell me your best advice about any parts of this question that you know about!
a) Could you please tell me your opinions about these magazines
1) Seventeen
2) Teen Vogue
3) Girls' Life
4) M
5) Tiger Beat
6) Something else you like...?
Which magazine has the best combination of fashion/advice/stories/celebrity stuff/quizzes? You know, the one that covers all of the bases. And which is your favorite?

b) I have an older sister who's less girly than me, and barely read magazines (maybe bought one from the store like once or twice a year). This automatically makes me seem way more girly than I already am, so it may be hard for my parents to allow me to read these magazines. (Money's not a problem, I would pay for it myself.) It's just that my sister and I are so different, I'm afraid that they will think that I'm some fashion-obsessed, brainless, boy-crazy girl. I do care about grades and I do sports, I just want a little magazine to have that girly flare. So do you have any tips or tricks on how to ask my parents if I can get a subscription to one of the magazines?
c) Extra info:
I've read a couple of Seventeens at the doctors/dentists and such, but that's really it. I did enjoy that magazine, I'm just wondering if there's a better one out there.
So thank you sooo much if you take your time to drop me a response, I can use all the advice I can get! And if you're going to leave negative feedback, please don't make it too extreme, that just ruins the vibe. ;)
Thanks everyone, it means a lot!

Door-to-door annoying young guys selling magazines: who are they?

This sort of thing is becoming a huge problem nationwide. Unfortunately, there are several magazine sales crew outfits and other door-to-door sales operations out there. The young men and women doing this type of work are from all over the United States and from other countries.

Yes, some of the sellers are hardened dyed in the wool con artists with criminal records, but you may also want to keep in mind that an increasing number of the sellers are innocent people who have gotten trapped into this form of modern day indentured servitude/youth exploitation by unscrupulous "recruiters". Some of the sellers may be as young as 14, but are telling people they are 18.

With the unemployment rate being what it is these days, this sort of exploitation may get even worse.

According to the Oregon Dept of Justice, some of the sellers are
“at-risk youth” types or young adults who were recruited or lured into a sales crew by promises of travel and easy money, and are now hundreds or thousands of miles away from their hometown.

Due to the financial aspects of working for a sales crew, these individuals are frequently in a situation in which they may be unable to leave the sales crew because they fear they will lose the wages the team leader is purportedly holding for them. They may not have money to pay for a bus or plane ticket home.

An organization called Parent Watch, Inc. may be able to assist individuals who are stranded or want to leave a traveling sales crew.

Maybe next time a person comes to the door, you should give them that website...just in case? or simply don't answer the door. Your call.

What are some funny stories of your childhood?

This happened when I was about 8 years old. I'd like to mention that my mom was not the person who she is today. She was really short tempered. We were staying in Pottsville, Pennsylvania. My parents had removed all the bedsheets and pillow covers and put them in the wash.I was sitting in my parents room, watching TV. I don't know how I had a marker, but I had a marker with me. I unknowingly started drawing on the mattress. I drew a peace sign, my signature, and a woman holding a baby. I assure you, it was a horrible painting. All of the sudden, my sixth sense went off and I realized that my mom would be coming to put the bedsheets on anytime now. I tried wetting the mattress with a little water to see if the marker would come off. But of course, I was drawing with a Sharpie (permanent marker). I suddenly had the "brilliant" idea to put shampoo on the mattress to get the marker off. I dumped a whole bottle of shampoo onto the mattress and started scrubbing like crazy. It still wouldn't come off. I heard my mom coming up the stairs and I ran into my room. I heard her come into her bedroom and I guess after seeing the foamy mattress, she screamed. I slowly came into her room and whimpered. I told her what happened. She was about to smack me when my dad came in and asked what happened. My mom summarized the story. My dad's a really calm and chill guy. He started to laugh and told her to relax. My dad went and got a hair dryer and started to the dry the area. My mom kept scrubbing and all she would get is foam. She got so angry and she started chasing me with a shoe (typical Indian moms I tell you). My dad told her to relax and to settle down. I remember my dad sitting there with the hair dryer for about an hour until finally, the soap and water dried up. My mom yelled at me and told me to never do it again. We still have the mattress and it brings up a lot of stories of when I was young and "rebellious". We laugh about it till this date. I swear, if my dad wasn't there, "Somebody gonna get a hurt, real bad". (Quoted from Russell Peters)

What's your most embarrising story..?

when i got de pants in 6th grade my friend meant to only pull down my shorts but also got my underwear lol... then he tried to help me pull my pants back up cuz he felt bad that the whole 6th grade saw my package then ontop of that what the gym teacher only saw was my friend trying to pull my shorts back up and he thought we were trying to get it on in the gym we both got detentions for it =(

When I was i the 7th grade, I read a short story called "The Fumatorium", I think. Anyone familiar with this?

It was a story in your basic public education seventh grade reading book about this guy who weighs peoples' bodies at their time of death and finds that their souls actually have weight. Then later, he encapsulates their souls in a chamber and re-injects into them via a hypodermic needle or something of the sort. Pretty creepy for a 7th grader...

Who also has girlfriend. The gangster wannabe guy, who always got into fights:Got changed with assault and shoplifing. He got two years of probation, and three months of jail. The guy who was kinda quiet, funny, who always would dance with the Ukrainian guy:He moved back to Russia with his sister and family. Also is a master in the art of smartassery. (Take a guess who that is.)The nice girl who could beat the hell out of anyone, was close friends with only a few people:She has a job, she volunteers at hospitals, and vets. She also pretty much helped this answer. The small group of Russians:They do the same stuff, just more mature and friendly (Pst remember, this school had a lot of Slavic people in it.)The anorexic girl people bullied:She sadly committed suicide. The one kid who was a greaser. He's a friendly badass. He has a girlfriend too.The girl who plays a lot of instruments. She creates her own music, and she wants to be a music artist..This concludes my list. And thanks to my good ol' comrade for helping out with this answer.

Everyone; tell me how did you find love? or what made you love that person? x?

well i've been in love with my current boyfriend for almost ten months.
we always saw each other at school, but we never talked. i first saw him in 6th grade, and i thought he was cute, but he had a girlfriend and i was really shy. he used to stare at me in the cafeteria, he told me one time, because he thought i was so beautiful, but i never talked to anyone. ever. every time i got a glimpse of him, i would be amazed. his hair was perfect. perfect face. like from a magazine.
then he finally added me on myspace, and he made up an excuse to talk to me about a project, even though we weren't in the same class. we talked for like an hour, and only for one night, which was christmas eve. and the next time we talked was 6 months later at the end of school. he messaged me to tell me congratulations on some award i won. then the whole summer went by and i never heard from him. until the beginning of october. he sent me a random instant message in the middle of the night at 3 AM. we talked for hours. then we kept talking for the next three weeks. we never saw each other face to face though. then, i got tired of just talking on myspace so i asked for his number and called him. we talked almost 3 hours, and we found that we had a lot of stuff in common. then he asked me out, and ever since we have shared the most perfect memories together.

HOWEVER there is a major part in the story. my ex boyfriend is basically the one that helped hooked us up. my ex told me that his homeboy liked me. and i knew him and my boyfriend are good friends, so i had a feeling it was him. that's the only reason i actually called him and we started going out. on october 22, 2009. which os VERY weird, because that is the same anniversary i had with my ex, that helped hook us up, in 2008. anyway, we're still together and in love :)

not very romantic, but oh well, lol.
