H Im Clint Mark How Can We Pronounce The Korean Letter L

Is it rude to insist people pronounce your name right each time they say it? I'm an Indian student who recently came to America, and people often mispronounce my name. Do people feel I'm being pretentious/rude?

This question reminds me of this meme,to answer your question, I would say depends who you are talking to.My name is Ameya (Um-ae-y) 9 out of 10 times when I introduce myself, people reply, "Hello Amir..."Initially, I found it very offensive but over the years I have learnt to let go.Having said that, where it matters I do correct others, for example, if a colleague at work mispronounces my name I correct him/her just because I have to deal with them almost on a daily basis as opposed to the barista at Starbucks who, no matter how i say my name, will always get it wrong. I don't spend my energy correcting the barista as i know my interaction is limited to some seconds.I also wanted to share an anecdote related to Indian names. While working as a Research Assistant at the Dean's office of my business school, I had access to the open TA positions and other student jobs. My roommate "Rudraksh" (Roo-draak-sh) was looking for student jobs and had asked me as well as a thousand others to let him know if we came across any openings. One morning, the office admin desperately came to my desk and frantically mentioned that a certain professor needs a TA right now and if knew anyone.I had my roommate's resume on file, so I capitalized on the opportunity and printed that resume for her. Just reading the first line, she had difficulty pronouncing the name even after I enunciated for her. She candidly mentioned that there is no way the professor would be able to say this name having expected to work closely with the TA. I realized that my roommate was on the verge of losing the battle, so I quickly told her that he goes by his last name: (4 letter word) much easier to pronounce. The professor really liked him once he was called for an interview and he got the TA.So the moral of the story is, "It Depends".

In the sentence "We appreciate you taking the time to X," should it be "you" or "your"?

Technically, when we ‘appreciate’, we ‘appreciate’ something. Here the ‘something’ we ‘appreciate’ is someone’s action (taking the time to X). Now either version here would be an understandable shorthand way to get our point across. But I think ‘your’ is probably more technically correct because the sentence would still make perfect sense if you added the words ‘action in’ after ‘your’.

H, im clint mark how can we pronounce the korean letter L?

Depending of what world or where the L consonant is placed, it can sound like L or a rolling r.

For example:

나라- Na-la is pronounced as Na-ra (The r is slightly rolled)
젤리- Jel-ly is pronounced as Jel-ly because there is another L consant before it.

If ㄹ is alone it will sound like an r
and if there is another ㄹ before ㄹ it will sound like L.

I hope that made sense. :)

Is there a religion called Pentacontolism??

Pentecost. No, there is not a religion of Pentecost. There is a group of Christians that call themselves this.
Acts: Ch.2:38 Day of Pentecost was for "Believers".

Acts ch. 11 & 26 refers to these "believers" as Christians.

Acts 11:26 and when he found him, he brought him to Antioch. So for a whole year Barnabas and Saul met with the church and taught great numbers of people. The disciples were called Christians first at Antioch.

Acts 26:28
Then Agrippa said to Paul, “Do you think that in such a short time you can persuade me to be a Christian?”

1 Peter 4:16
However, if you suffer as a Christian, do not be ashamed, but praise God that you bear that name.

.The Holy Spirit’s Presence
Acts 2:1-4
During the time of Moses, God established a festival to celebrate the grain harvest. The first day of the feast became known as the Day of Pentecost (Leviticus 23:15-21). After Jesus ascended to heaven, God revealed a new spiritual meaning for Pentecost. On that day the promised Holy Spirit arrived, and the church of Jesus Christ was born!
While the disciples and others had been Jesus’ followers before this, there had been no “body of Christ” to which they could belong. On Pentecost all that changed. God’s Spirit baptized believers into the Lord Jesus, making them one with Him (1 Corinthians 12:13-14). Now they had a brand-new relationship with the Lord: from that point on, the Holy Spirit lived Christ’s life through them, and they abided in Jesus through His Spirit.
What a difference the Spirit’s indwelling presence made in their lives. No longer were they fearful men who ran away; nor were they people looking out for their own interests. Now they were transformed into a cohesive group who “were continually devoting themselves to the apostles’ teaching and to fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer. And all those who had believed were together and had all things in common” (Acts 2:42, 44).
Our own personal “day of Pentecost” occurs at salvation, when we are indwelt by the Holy Spirit and baptized into the worldwide body of Christ. The Spirit’s presence is permanently given to everyone who believes, for He is the guarantee of our salvation.
