Halloween Candy Deaths

My dog found hidden halloween candy and ate it, do I take him to the vet?

It it makes you feel better call the vet just to ask. If you're really not TOO worried bc you dont think he ate very much for his size I would suggest just keeping a close eye on him and calling vet if he acts funny (throwing up, refusing to eat, etc.) My understanding is that it's a chemical in chocolate called theobromine that dogs cant handle it takes appx. 1 ounce of milk chocolate per pound of dog to potentially kill it and even less if its semi-sweet chocolate. But, I have no idea about a dog's ability to digest laffy taffy or something.

2 of November,Dia de los muertos

Of the Calaca nobody is saved,
I have come for his souls, this day,
2 of November is my day
I want to see you in the graveyard,

I come for canijos of Yahoo Answers,
the ones that always + 2 answer,
and to the ones that the bad knack they show,
to politics and strikers, to religious and racist

Two of November, is my day,
and is the day in which the souls visit,
all beloved familiars and others, your
gonna be the next who dead, and a cold stone on you remained.

The death is the solution of your problems,
you do not give death to you, at any moment I arrive,
I carry your soul al panteon to rest and of your conflicts to forget,
but all has price, you can't love, anymore
to be a soul in grief, and by your acts punished to be,

Be afraid, that I the death have arrived,
Do not believe to anybody side,
that the all powerful gentlemen upper and down
all they observe it, all they know it, all they see it,
I am a servant of both, and to
the orders of both I obey,

Of the death nobody is saved
Lady of eternal life, takes my hand and you will see,
the kindnesses of the death you will receive.

2 of November is my day, celebrate it, since to someone wanted to recall.

When does Walmart start to discount their Halloween candy?

It's a crap shoot where to go for the best selection-that depends on who's not been shopped to death. Your best way to know this would be to scout each store late at night on the 31st at each store. Walmart's prices are computerized and they automatically apply 50% at 12:01am November 1. I used to work there and found it funny that crazy old ladies would arrive around 11pm loading up their buggies with the good stuff then hang around till midnight or so to hit the registers. Many of them flat out admitted they didn't have anything better to do with their time and said they'd just keep all the candy for next Halloween. Hey, you snooze you loose so I guess if you're crazy enough to "play the game" they play, you can find some really good deals. Don't be like the lazy folks that show up on Nov. 3 complaining that all the good stuff is gone-well, duhhh...

Any bad experiences on Halloween?

I am non-Christian but would like to respond to your question.
It is unfortunate that there are ill behaved children that tried to let the air out of your tires, some kids are brats.
I am a Pagan, I celebrate Samhain which falls on November 7th this year. I will be honoring my ancestors, giving thanks for the final harvest, and banishing any negativity in my life. I honor all life, I do not celebrate death.
I do not believe in the Devil, he is a Christian deity. If I did believe in him it is very doubtful that I would worship such an entity.
I know that because of your religious beliefs you probably think everything I have told you is a lie. That is fine, you are entitled. I am merely attempting to dispel some of the ugly lies that are circulated about my religion, especially this time of year.

What's your soundtrack for Halloween? Post your favorite scary music.I’m sure a load of Black Sabbath purists are going to deride me for this one, but When Death Calls is a favourite (in fact, I love the entire album, The Headless Cross).Okay, maybe I’ll redeem myself a bit with Ozzy Osbourne’s Mr. Crowley:And this one by Black Sabbath, War Pigs:To move on to another genre which embodies the spirit of Halloween, there’s Clown by Switchblade Symphony:And if you want really creepy, then Marilyn Manson puts a whole new spin on Sweet Dreams (are Made of This).Apparition Sky by Emeralde Fear hits just the right note of eerie:And with a name like Bella Morte, you know this band is going to have a dark song tailor-made for Halloween. Funeral Night doesn’t disappoint:Dead Can Dance is another Goth band whose name alone is an indication that their music might be perfect on a Halloween soundtrack. Musica Eternal certainly fits the bill for spooky:And nothing says Halloween like a song from a Death Metal band like Morbid Angel. This one is called Rapture (and it’s nothing like the Blondie song of the same name):You really can’t leave Cannibal Corpse out if you’re going to include Morbid Angel in a Halloween mix. It just wouldn’t be right—so here is Code of the Slashers: (Warning: gore)

Here's this. I was raised by some serious hippies.  We were not allowed to watch tv when I was little.  Well... we were only allowed to watch what dad rented or watched.  Want to know what that was? B rated horror films.  I've seen every crazy horror film ever made. I've never seen an episode of Cheers, the Incredible Hulk, M.A.S.H, or the Dukes of Hazzard but I've seen Motel Hell, Toolbox Murders, Sleepaway Camp, Basket Case, etc. The girls down the street were NOT allowed to watch scary movies.  I remember once my parents were going to take us all to the drive in to see Poltergeist.  It started raining so mom cancelled the plans.  My neighbor's mom, after learning what we were going to watch, totall spazzed out.  She took off in the rain and drove to the theater to save her kid. For Halloween we weren't allowed to be anything wimpy.  We HAD to be something scary and DAMN IT, mom made us some very scary costumes. The neighbor girls were always cheerleaders, office workers, DUMB SHIT. Fast forward 30 some years. I'm perfectly fine.  I've been a nurse for almost 20 years.  I'm not emotionally scarred from seeing Reagan's head spin all the way backwards when I was tiny.  Michael Myers... not afraid of him or even the people society would say resembled him.  I've worked in psych nearly my entire career.   My two neighbors?  They're weirdos.  They've never learned to take care of themselves.  They've relied on men to dictate how they live and would be absolutely LOST in life if their husbands left them.  No education to back them up.  And they're afraid of their own shadows. Just weirdos.  Don't turn your kids into weirdos.

It was based on an old pagan celebration where priests, Druids, if memory serves, would go house to house and demand an offering. If they didn’t receive a adequate offering, a jack-o-lantern was place on their lawn as a signal for demons to come kill a family member. That is one legend. There are others. Modern Halloween just re-enacts some of it. It is a time when people are supposed to be open to witches, skeletons, death, ghosts, hauntings, various monsters of different kinds, black cats, and all that. It is an immersion in negativity and death. It is considered sinful by some because everything about it is negative, even the “positive” parts like kids getting candy and having fun, and focuses upon death and evil spirits, which Christians generally are NOT supposed to be obsessed with. We are supposed to focus on good and positive things, if possible. And not participate in pagan rituals, however sanitized or “christianized”, as some call it (usually by putting crosses on it and twisting some Biblical story to harmonize with it in some way, like for example, Christmas and Easter). Actual Biblical Christians are supposed to avoid any paganism, not dive into it with both feet, as some entire religious institutions have. Some people seem to think that sticking a cross on something will make it “Christian”, which it does NOT. I don’t consider it a “sin” as much as one of those things I just don’t participate in.

Jehovah's Witnesses don't celebrate Halloween... what is your opinion about this?

As it is, Halloween has ancient roots in demonism. The date of the death of the children of the demons (the Nephilim of Genesis 6:1-5) and others who died in the flood became Halloween. The druids of Europe transformed that into a night in which the dead came back to life to haunt the living on that one night. Despite the silly costumes that people buy for their children and the candy that is purchased and distributed to visiting children in these costumes, the demonic influence of this holiday is clear. Movies released during this time are always with spiritistic themes. TV shows feature episodes with these themes. Songs are played on the radio, and advertisements of all kinds will reference the "undead", "vampires", "ghosts" and "witches" all through the month of October.

Just because candy is involved, it doesn't make it innocent. The human children who died in the flood died because their parents did not permit them to go into the ark, as they also refused to do - so their deaths are their parents' fault, not God's. If we set a bad example for our children, and make a demon themed celebration into a fun thing, they won't know any better, unless we tell them.

And, because of this holiday, which is by no means a holy day, they will be susceptible to believe, as many do, in that old lie that Satan told Eve: "You shall not surely die." - and in the lie that people are still alive walking around as ghosts, and the lie that other people are extending their lives and powers by following demon rites and practices.

My opinion on this is - BEWARE!! Become knowledgeable and follow the example of Jehovah's Witnesses and the Bible. Halloween is based on deceptive lies, that can take our lives away, because Satan is a manslayer and the father of the lie. (Genesis 3:4, John 8:44)
