With Halloween around the corner my friend and I decided to go as Jackie Chan and Chris Tucker, or Lee and Carter from the "Rush Hour" franchise. I'm asian and he is african american so we don't have to worry about masks or anything. Do you have any ideas on how or what we should wear or any mannerisms we could use? Thanks!

How would you design and render your own costume?
I'm an amateur - I design organically. I generally have a look in mind, but as I begin creating, it evolves. I have fully designed up front, but rarely turned it into a rendering and then a costume.For full rendering, I lightly sketch a body (in a dynamic pose if inspired) - from a photo if possible, since I have little skill figure drawing from my mind, then "dress" it. If the back is important, I render that too. I may also do alternative pieces. Also I do details - embroidery, jewelry, closures, accessories, etc. Then I paint it - gauche and/or watercolor. I don't generally attach fabric samples.To pattern, I generally find a pattern similar and then use that as a starting point. I don't have the skill to flat-pattern from "the numbers." If I have a pre-existing garment as a sample, I can draw the seams on paper, so I don't have to take it apart. I like to make a muslin out of cheap fabric (old sheets or drapes are great if muslin isn't readily available). That way I can cut or stitch until it is the right shape. No stress if I totally bork it; seam-ripper is my friend. I generally use the muslin itself as a pattern - I don't make a paper pattern afterwards unless I think I will make more than one.

I have a pair of glittery gold pumps that I would love to wear this year for halloween, but what sort of (simple) costume could I design around them? I want something easy and cheap, with mostly real clothes, but that is also cute and girly, like a leopard or mermaid or something...
What creative way would you design a costume to go to a Halloween party as the invisible man/woman?
I would do the obviously cheesy blend in disguise with the mummy wrapped face, large trench coat, a wig, those nose glasses with the moustache, and a really long Dr Who knit scarf and gloves. Underneath maybe wear one a flesh colored morph suit.
