Handling Raw Meat Then Baby

Does it freak you out to handle raw meat?

Not in the least. I went to cooking school so I'm very comfortable with it. Also I'm a retired CNA and have sterile processing traing.

Is it dangerous for dogs to eat live baby wild rabbits?

No. Not particularly good letting dogs run wild but raw rabbit won't harm the dogs.My dogs eat a portion of wild rabbit raw and with fur, heads and feet still on most days. I do paunch the rabbits, (remove their guts) as this is where most of the worms are. You should worm your dogs every 3-4 months anyway or sooner if you think they have worms. It's a very natural diet for them.If feeding rabbit on purpose avoid any which are very old and thin or whose guts smell worse than usual. No need to worry about spotty livers though or myxomatosis as this doesn't affect dogs but do avoid spreading this disease. Dogs can also spit out or digest an odd lead pellet or bullet without coming to any harm.To anyone who says no to dogs eating rabbit “because diseases,” what diseases exactly? Your dogs should be vaccinated against common diseases where possible. Fleas and ticks are something your dog may well pick up anyway. Never seen a tick on a rabbit either. Plenty of fleas but these never seem to infest the dogs. Possibly because all the fleas jump off the rabbits in the car on the way home.

My dad won't wash his hands after touching raw meat !!!?

Hi! I have the same problem with my mum- she thinks I am being obsessive asking her to wash her hands after handling raw fish etc, but like you, I don't want to get sick (or her to get sick!) The best thing to do is talk about it with your dad rationally and say that even if he thinks you are just being silly, please could he wash his hands, just for your benefit, as you are really worried... I don't think he can refuse if you explain it to him very calmly and sensibly! Good luck!

I ate raw chicken, is that bad?

Does it mean you will drop down screaming in pain as you slowly expire from vital bodily fluids escaping your body from every orifice? According to a lot of people you might, but from personal experience, no. Not a very good idea unless it is properly prepared, but on average, no.Case in point. I worked in further processing for poultry which is your KFC type production of chicken. I once had a "gaylord" of chicken dumped on me by accident. A "gaylord" is a large plastic bin, about a cubic meter and it was full of raw chicken breasts. I certainly did ingest the marinade that is present on raw chicken, that is the slimy coating you feel when handling it. It didn't kill me, but I have to tell you a secret. You can learn to live with salmonella. It was not uncommon for me to get the "green apple two step" when I was working in the business as well as some nausea, but after a while very little. The real concern is listeria which has a case death rate of 20%. The bacteria is everywhere and is usually transmitted by dirty foot wear. I have seen chicken dropped on floors and people throw it back on the line. I have also seen the same people fired and the entire line stopped, stripped down and sanitized and the existing product in or on the line destroyed. It is really that serious. I will leave E.Coli out of this as that means a lot more typing, but possibly worse than listeria.Anyway, raw chicken, unless you know what you're doing is a bad idea.

Is touching raw meat really a concern for millennials?

Market researchers seem to be making wild guesses and wilder accusations about a whole group of diverse people with varying motives for not behaving the way those old businesses expect. It’s annoying to be so infantilized by people who obviously want me to buy their product. So, let me explain this to them:No, millennials aren’t really that concerned about touching raw meat. We just do not want or need to buy your supermarket’s meat. The main problem I have with meat is not its “ickiness.” It’s with the environmental impact of meat production. When the choice is up to me, I usually decide not to cook with meat or buy it from the market. On the rare occasions that I do decide to prepare meat, I want to purchase meat that is produced in the most sustainable and ethical way possible, usually from local sources that farm and butcher responsibly.Aside from the environmental concerns, I’ve found a few additional benefits to eating less meat. I tend to eat from a wider variety of healthy foods when I don’t base my meal around a meat. It’s easier for me to make a flavorful three-bean stew with tons of fresh vegetables than it is to prepare and cook a chicken dinner. On top of ease and health, meat is usually more expensive, so skipping it means I can save my money for things I enjoy more.Basically, it comes down to this:I want cheaper, more ethical, more environmentally friendly, and healthier food. The store is offering extra convenient plastic packaging on a more expensive, less ethical, less environmentally friendly, and less healthy food. The store thinks I’m the one being unreasonable.

Is it good to give raw egg mix in milk to a baby?

No way, no how. Ask your pediatrician. Eggs were often mixed with milk to up the nutrition for kids that didn't like to eat, um, going back 60 years or soNow in this new and improved world, raw eggs carry bacteria and are risky for adults. No tasting meat loaf mix, or cookie dough. No eggs in milk for the baby.

Could my baby have caught salmonella from licking the package...?

In the chicken package there was another package with herbs. I didnt use it but my baby liked the looks of it, it fell on the floor, I was busy, looked around and she was sucking it!! What do I do? I am terribly worried as you can imagine...
