Hard Boiled Egg Whites. How Long To Boil For

Hard boiled egg whites turn brown?

I have cooked a lot of eggs in my life time but I have never heard of that, and I have overcooked more than a few.

How long do you boil eggs for hard boiled eggs?

7 min. then remove them from the heat and cover for 10 more minutes.

Spongy hard boiled eggs?

It's easy to boil eggs perfectly when you've got a professional egg cooker, but when you're boiling eggs the old fashion way, they don't always turn out so perfect. But don't let that get you down.

Use the size saucepan that will hold your eggs compactly. This will prevent the eggs from bouncing all over the pot when the water is boiling.

Fill the saucepan with cold water and add the eggs immediately. Do not heat the water in advance. When the water is cold it compromises the coldness of the egg and both the water and egg heat up at the same time. When you add a cold egg to boiling water, the shock will cause the shell to crack.

Put the lid on the pot and bring the water to a boil.

Then once your water begins to boil, turn off the burner.

Then set the timer so that your eggs are left in the pot for the length of time that allows the eggs to cook to your prefered taste. Most people will keep them in the previously boiled water for about 12 minutes.

When they are boiled to your preference, remove the eggs with a slotted spoon and add them to a bowl full of ice water. This will help them from overcooking. and carefully drain the water. Let them sit until the eggs are cooled.

These eggs are very soft and juicy. The whites are cooked but still very spongy and the yellow yolks are soft. These are a challenge to peel but are excellent for eating in an egg cup and dunking your toast in.

These eggs are more solid yet still slightly spongy and may be still awkward to peel. They can be sliced and eaten in salads or sandwiches and are very tasty.

These eggs are fully cooked and hard. They are easy to peel and are the perfect substance for making egg salad and deviled eggs.

Can you feed a juvenile bearded dragon hard boiled egg whites?

When it's an adult I would advise against it, since adults shouldn't consume much protein. Adults need very little protein and should have an 80% diet of Fruit and Vegetables. Too much protein for adults can cause liver and kidney damage, so be careful.

As long as you slice it up for him it should be all good. I'd only feed it two sliced up hard boiled eggs at most and no crickets the day you feed it a hard boiled egg, it's too much protein otherwise. Don't worry about dusting the eggs off with calcium, eggs have enough calcium as it is.

I've never tried feeding my Bearded Dragon meat besides a little bit of left over thanksgiving turkey and skinless chicken. Skinless meat are great protein sources for them. The nutritional value is probably a lot like feeding them pinkies. The only difference is you can slice meat to a smaller size and feed them to smaller beardies, unlike pinkies. I imagine hard boiled eggs are no different.

Let me know how your lizard likes it. I may feed mine them sometime. Try feeding yours boiled chicken sometime too, they absolutely love that.

I hard boiled some eggs and they have black spots on the white part (it looks like my egg has chicken pox!)?

sweetie, when in doubt, throw it out!

Why is hard-boiled egg white more digestible than raw egg white?

When the egg white is cooked, the proteins present in it become denatured i.e., the links in the helical structure are broken up. This makes it easier for the digestive enzymes to enter the protein and get to work. Therefore, it becomes more digestible.

How do you know when hard boiled eggs are done?

General rule of thumb for a Chicken's egg is 5 to 10 minutes. But if you want to make sure that it is indeed boiled and eatable, there is one method I follow.     When the egg(s) is/are in the bowl, boiling, take a spoon or fork and push the egg around in the bowl. If it's boiled, it's hard and moves along easily like a tennis ball. But if it isn't, the yolk keeps floating in white and the egg doesn't exactly move like a ball. It kinda wobbles. If it is the case, you should let it boil for a couple more minutes or so. It'll get hard enough this time.    Some prefer it hard, wherein you need to let it boil for more time (15 mins, probably). But usually the problem is that the white breaks out of the shell if you boil it longer. So, if you wanna eat hard boiled egg, at the time of purchase, make sure the shell is hard as hell!
