Hard Disk Not Responding

My 1TB Seagate External Hard disk is not responding to any computer. What are some good Data Recovery centres in Chennai?

Data Recovery from External DevicesNo 24/13, Ground Floor, Pillaiyar Koil Street,Near R8 Police Station, Vadapalani, Chennai,Tamil Nadu 600026Ram Infotech No.1 Data Recovery ChennaiExternal storage media devices are very common nowadays. We use these storage devices for data storage, or to transfer data between computers. These devices are convenient to carry and offer fast data backup and easy data recovery as compared to other storage devices. Most commonly used external or removable media devices are Compact Disc (CDs), Digital Versatile Disc (DVDs), Blue Ray Disc, External Hard Drives, USB Pen Drives, USB Flash Drives, SD Cards, Memory Cards, Memory Sticks, Flash Drive, Solid State Drives (SSDs) etcRemovable storage devices are becoming an essential part of people's life and they also refer to some portable storage devices. The removable storage media provides a sense of independence to the consumer as they can use and save data anywhere and anytime they want. These storage devices although are portable, easy to use and operate but they have certain demerits thereby more prone to data loss because of physical damage, human errors, virus attack etc.Data loss/ inaccessible problems are relatively common in case of the removable devices. There can be various reasons that may turn the data inaccessible. Sometimes the computer can't access any information/data from these portable storage devices, because it may be corrupted due to improper plug-in or plug-out. Other errors like physical corruption, human errors, virus attack, logical corruption etc. can lead to unexpected data loss

How do you fix the "Not Responding" Error?

For the Past two months, Some of the programs on my Laptop have been giving me the "Not Responding" attitude.
my Laptop was New during December 2009 with Windows 7.
I have allot of space on a 300GB hard drive with a Intel Celeron processor.
I Installed SpyBot Search and Destroy, AVAST anti-virus, CCleaner,
Norton 360, and Microsoft security essentials to help keep my OS Safe as can be.

whenever I Open a program or surfing the World wide web... I get "Not Responding" up top and it will either NOT work again for Some Annoying time or It will stop working and I Can't Get anything done except closing the program through taskManager.
this problem comes around mozilla firefox, Adobe Flash PRO CS5.5, Autodesk Maya, Ituns, and other programs that I use on a daily basis.

When I go around the internet looking for a solution, I find out that ANYTHING could Cause the Error. It could be too weak a Micro-Processor. Or some-sort of User input Error. or an unseen threat that my Protection programs didn't see. you name it "ANYTHING!!"

Some websites say that I should download one or more Programs from other different websites to help fix the problem.
I don't Think Getting more Programs are gonna help.

So could Anybody on the web tell me what I can do to speed up the processes without needing to download another unnecessary program and without deleting anything I got on the computer right now?

Why is my D: disk constantly "not responding" on my brand new Acer Aspire v15 high end computer with Windows 8.1?

Is your D: disk an optical drive or a partition on the HDD, or is it a secondary HDD?  In case of an optical drive you might have a faulty drive, you can start the repair process with Acer or you can pick a a replacement drive on newegg or amazon for less than it would cost you to mail the laptop to the repair center.  If your D: is a partition on the same drive as C: then the OS could be accessing the C: partition.  Check your swap file settings.  If it is a secondary HDD check the power settings or test the drive with seatools.

Computer not responding to commands?

try doing the defragmenting your hard disk. just go to "start", "control panel", maybe "settings" also and click on "maintenance", then find the "defragmenting" feature. click on defragment. let it do its job, even if it seems like its not doing a thing, it'll let you know when its complete. after thats finished find the "disk cleanup" feature(my computer, then right click on the drives(ex. c d and whatever other letters you have there, one at a time)when you right click on the "c " drive, click on properties, then "disk cleanup". all this should help. good luck. oh! i forgot, after you've done this, download "ccleaner" and run the cleaner from the desktop icon and it'll clean out all that excess and give you a lil more room.

Microsoft word is not responding. If I click 'End Now' I'll lose my unsaved work. What should I do!?

Im assuming since several hours are passed that it has choked and you've shut it down.

go through your hd and search for filename.* (ie thesis.*)

open the most recent file (don't worry about the extension)

This should be the closest thing you have to most recent version.

When word crashes:: _always_ open it using the word shortcut, and _not_ by double clicking on the document you want to open. Its designed to resume the document you have been editing when crash occurred.

Tweak your autosave interval to something practical like every 5 minutes. If you're a fast typist, set it to save more often.

Also, good idea to have it always save backups and do this to an external flash drive. That way if the hard disk fails you will still have your document.

Sorry about your thesis. hope it all worked out ok.

What can I do when a Seagate external hard disk is not working?

Seagate drives generally comes with 3 years of manufacturing warranty. You can visit a service centre for and hope that those guys could help you out.Although there might be a possibility the drive is not being detected due to corrupt partition table. In that case just follow these steps :1. Plug in your Hard drive to your computer. 2. Go to the start menu, type in "cmd" in a search bar, hit enter and then you can see something named "cmd. exe" under a list of programs. 3. Right click "cmd. exe" and type in "chkdsk /X /f USB drive letter:" or "chkdsk USB drive letter: /f ", for example, "chkdsk /X /f G:" or "chkdsk h: /f" in the following command windows to start to repair damaged USB flash drive without formatting.

Why is OTG not working properly for hard disk on Android Nougat?

Sounds like a firmware issue. Maybe they'll fix it in future updates since it is a matter of the inbuilt drivers to run an external storage.

My external hard disk is not working. Every time I connect it via USB to my laptop it shows connected but it doesn't work and I am not able to access the data. What is a solution to fix it?
