"Windows has detected a hard disk problem"? Help?

Honestly there is not, will be not, and was never a fact that hard drives have a deadline. It is only warnings you will always have until the hard disk's end will come. One day will stop for ever, or will slow down really that much that will not be able to read or write thus your system will be unsuable due to the failed disk. So, just to throw some experience with that, i seen that warning you got before. And the hard disk was only having one bad sector and the system wasn't slow and disk died after 1 year. I saw another similar which died like 2 months after, customer didn't backup and lost everything. Since you have backed up your stuff, just use the computer until the hard disk dies. If you need to buy one, try ebay. There are also used ones in excellent condition which will save you some money, but i do not recommend. (tech here)

USB tethering going extremely slow all of a sudden?

I use PDAnet and all of a sudden, one day I wake up, and it's running EXTREMELY slow. It's been doing this for about 2 weeks now.

It'll take extremely long to load, and it'll pause and have h t t p : / / w e b s i t e . c o m in the title [ no spaces ] or it'll say WEBPAGE NOT AVAILABLE. And some times it'll go normal.

Any idea why it's doing this? I've even tried ClockworkMod Tether [ that didn't work for me, it kept saying no connection ] and Easytether [ it was running slow just like PDAnet, so now I know it's my phone ]. Is it my bandwidth? If so, how do I speed it up?

Why does my HDD have a sudden speed loss?

This depends on a few factors:What is the size of the file you are copying, and more importantly, is it a single file or a folder containing multiple different file formats? What is the rotation speed of your hard drive (5400rpm vs. 7200rpm)?Are there background applications accessing your drive while you are transferring the files? If you’re transferring or copying a folder containing many small files and some larger files, then it will be normal for the transfer speed to vary. Hard drives are much faster at copying single large files than they are a large number of small files, so you will see the transfer speed vary significantly during the process. If background applications are accessing your hard drive at the same time you are copying or transferring files to or from the disk, you will experience slower and often variable transfer speeds. This is common if you have lots of background applications running and the drive you’re using is your boot disk. You can check to see if this is the cause in the task manager. Finally, if neither of these are the cause of the variable transfer rates you’re experiencing, you can check the health status of your hard disk using diagnostic software (CrystalDiskInfo and HD Tune Free are ones I use). These applications will let you check your disk’s SMART attributes for potential issues.
