Has Anybody Seen The Somewhat Old Tv Show Friends With Lisa Cudrow Jennifer Aniston Etc.

Why do some people dislike Friends (TV series)?

Let's see: It's really NOT that funny - I watched a number Friends episodes (long story) and I never once saw one which caused me to really laugh out loud. A few jokes made me smile; but most were the same lameass comic lines that have inhabited American television since the 1950s.The cast was uneven - The actors either had too much horsepower for the program (Matt LeBlanc, Matthew Perry, to a lesser extent Jennifer Aniston) or not enough (Courtney Cox, David Schwimmer, Lisa Kudrow, etc.). The funny ones were far funnier than the unfunny ones, and the "straight men" weren't good enough actors to work that role. The public notices this and that's why the cast's success in the wake of the program has been so limited.New York without many minorities - While this might be someone from Long Island's dream, it presented a portrait of a world that never existed and that never could. The "look we have celebrities appearing" episodes - Bruce Willis and Tom Selleck were there...so what? The Odd Couple did the exact same thing (BETTER) 25-30 years earlier and they did it FUNNIER.It lasted waaaayyy too long - The series should have wrapped up in about 5 seasons. they milked it for 10 and each season simply kept getting worse. By the time the show ended, you could spot the "jokes" before they were ever spoken. I know that for some reason Friends is booming over South Asia at this time. Perhaps the entire universe it inhabits is so alien to the people who live there that its success can be traced back to that. Over here, we have had DOZENS of similar shows and there was precious little about the series that could have distinguished it from them. Sorry, but I think and thought it was a terrible show and there 's probably nothing that could ever convince me otherwise.

Are sitcoms like Friends and HIMYM really recorded in front of an audience? Are the laughs original?

FRIENDS was definitely shot on a set in front of live audience. The laughs were original. Watch this video of Warner Bros. studios which gives a short tour around the set.Source- YouTubeYou definitely remember this door right? That yellow border around the peephole was actually a broken mirror. One of the crew member accidently broke the mirror. They decided to leave it there because it looked good. :)Each episode would take 5 or more hours to shoot because interchanging between scenes would take multiple takes and of course changing the set which would take 20 minutes between each scene. The cast believed this was a good way to see if the jokes were actually funny,if the audience actually liked the plot. I’ve seen in an interview where lisa kudrow tells a story about how they were stuck in a moment when joey makes a practical joke on the set and they kept on laughing and had to take a break of 15–20 minutes so they could start fresh :PSo yes they shot the series in front of live audience ..well except for cliffhangers because they didn’t want to spoil it for people. Like when Ross calls Rachels name while marrying Emily, they asked the audience to leave the studio to shoot the scene. They always did this while shooting cliffhangers. As for HIMYM it was a shot by multiple cameras in a silent studio and not in front of a live audience and then they edited the episodes to add laughter tracks in the background!Image source- Google

If "Friends" were to be remade with an all Indian cast, who would you have play what role?

As most of the people, I also think that it will is difficult to recreate 'Friends' with indian cast. I've been thinking about it for a few days. This is the best combination I could come up with -1. Shah Rukh Khan as Chandler BingBy his sense of humor and wit he shows in public, it looks like people may like him as Chandler. Then romance with Monica. And not to forget the chemistry with joey. Wait for joey's entry and you won't deny it :)2. Saif ali Khan as JoeyRemember 'Kal ho na ho' anyone? He has played a dumb enough character. And his friendship with Shahrukh khan was pretty cool too. Many people have mentioned Salman khan for Joey, but imagine Salman playing Joey's character. With his limited acting skills, looks pretty difficult. We cannot assign a role based on just looks.3.Akshay Kumar as Ross GellerYes. Looks are similar....nerd....failed marriages....fine. And making those faces like Ross does, doesn't seem a tough task for him.4. Kareena Kapoor as Rachel GreenI think she can pull off a character of fashion sensible, little dumb and careless girl who can be annoyed easily.5. Aishwarya Rai as Monica GellerSimilar looks. Can make squeaky voices when needed :P6. Kangana Ranaut as PhoebeA little similar looks. Can play a weird character which nobody can understand. I still don't understand what was going on in Tanu's mind in Tanu weds Manu returns. You can imagine her living on streets and a horrible childhood.7. Satish Shah and Ratna Pathak as Jack and Judy GellerJudy-Monica and Maya-Monisha....enough said. Although relations are not the same, but you know what I mean.8. Kabir Bedi as Dr. Richard BurkeThis one is totally on looks.Last but not the least..!9. Mohammed Zeeshan Ayyub as Gunther a.k.a. Kandha :DJust because of his well known 'kandha' character(played in 'Tanu Weds Manu Returns'). Which ultimately is not going to affect the series' flow much.10. Imran khan as Mike HanniganP.S. They'd fit more to their roles if it were made a few years ago. And above character are made in such a way that they may look good together, the way they are meant to be.

What are some mind-blowing facts about the Friends TV series?

I wonder how many of us would’ve noticed these tiny details.Season 7, Episode 02 : The one with Rachel’s Book.Ross while teaching to his class says : “and that should conclusively prove that I had the idea for Jurassic Park first.” And few seconds later, Phoebe enters the class. If you look closely on the board behind Ross, there are some hilarious stuff written there.“Dr.Geller gets bitten by mosquito-has dream that night”“Dr.Geller comes up with Jurassic Park Idea”“Dr.Geller envisions using DNA from mosquito to clone T-REX”Source : Friends - TV Series
