Has Anyone Had A Hard Ball Near Ear

I have a hard bump behind my ear and it really hurts! Does anyone else get these?

Many times, when I do an ultrasound of a bump behind the ear, it turns out to be an inflammed lymph node. If your body has been fighting any kind of infection (even having a teeth cleaning), nodes can become enlarged.

Common areas where the lymph nodes can be felt (with the fingers) include:

Groin
Armpit
Neck (there is a chain of lymph nodes on either side of the front of the neck, both sides of the neck, and down each side of the back of the neck)
Under the jaw and chin
Behind the ears
On the back of the head
Lymph nodes can become swollen from infection, inflammatory conditions, an abscess, or cancer. Other causes of enlarged lymph nodes are rare. By far, the most common cause of swollen lymph nodes is infection. When swelling appears suddenly and is painful, it is usually caused by injury or an infection. Enlargement that comes on gradually and painlessly may, in some cases, result from cancer or a tumor.
Call your health care provider if:

Your glands don’t get smaller after several weeks or continue to get larger.
Your swollen glands are red and tender.
Your glands feel hard, irregular, or fixed in place.
You have a fever, night sweats, or unexplained weight loss.
Any node in a child is larger than 1cm in diameter.

Small hard tender lump in front of ear, next to tragus?

Funny, i was out looking for an answer to the very same thing the other day, and then i called my friend who is a doctor.
What i learned was, there is nothing in that area like a lymph or gland that can be life threatening.
It can only be a sys or something minor.

Turned out to be a very deep pimple with no head for me.

It went away :)

Ear piercing infection? hard, swollen lump near ear hole...?

It will go away with sea salt soaks, because I have or rather had the same problem with the red bump. It's actually common to get those on cartilage piercings due to accidental trauma of bumping it or changing it too soon. You could use a cotton ball, soaked in hot to warm water (however hot you can handle) and I put a little sea salt on the cotton ball and press it gently against my ear for about 5 minutes, but you may need to use another if it cools down too soon. Once a day and for a week to 2 weeks, and you will notice a difference. Don't pick at it or anything. Always wash your hands before and after touching it, and limit your contact with it. Wipe off the residue of the sea salt after the 5 minutes. Good luck.

How can a hard lump in the ear lobe be treated?

Hard lumps in the ear lobe can just be a cyst or a zit. If the whole cyst is not removed and the contents are just removed by squeezing it it will just fill up again. If it is stabbed with a needle there is also some chance that infection from skin bacteria could occur leaving you with a big mess. You might need antibiotics and should be seen because the ear is close to bones in your skull which can be affected and your brain. A surgical ENT consult may be necessary depending on where it is. If you need to be treated with a steroid for any other condition the infection may spread. (for example you had an allergic reaction to some substance) The hard lump might even be a tumor for all you know, so get it checked out . Hard lump behind ear?

I hear ya. I worry about every little thing that goes on with my body. However, worrying about it and taking action is better than forgetting about it.

Most likely it's nothing. Our bodies forms little lumps all over for no reason, and 95 percent of the time, their just abnormal growths.

However, if you're concerned, you shouldn't be ashmed to see the doctor. It's your body, and you would know better than anyone if something's not right. Most likely the doctor will feel it, and he/she might order an MRI or X-ray if they think it's something to worry about. These are painless procedures, and are just more annoying than anything. Doctors take extra precaution to rule out everything because it's their job, but it's also your job to take care of yourself.

My suggestion would be to wait it out for a few weeks to see if it changes in size. If it gets smaller, it was nothing. If it happens to get bigger, then make an appointment with your doctor. Even then, I'm sure it's nothing, and just something you'll have to live with and monitor.

Hard lump in my ear piercing?

I have had my piercing for over a year and there has always been this hard lump inside my piercing. I can wear earrings just fine and it only hurts when I squeeze it really hard. Could it be the dried blood that has never been able to come out? And also, I got my piercing at a really bad place (which I regret very much) where the girl just made a normal earring sharp and just poked it through. Also, when I got it pierced, the earring has fell out quite a few times and was required to go back so the girl could squeeze out the dried blood and re-insert the earring.

Has anyone ever had this happen to them and how they took care of it? Or does anyone have any ideas please? Because it has made my earlobe twice its size and the back of the earring always falls out because I can't fully secure it on my ear.

please and thank you!

What are the causes of a hard lump under the skin of the jawline?

Depending on the size and location of the lump under the jaw or “"mandible” you could be feeling a salivary gland or lymph node. As far as glands are concerned, the submandibular gland is the likeliest culprit, especially if you have tenderness in the area of the lump. The lymph nodes under the jawline are in the “cervical chain” and can be enlarged or inflamed due to several conditions. Inflammation of the oral cavity or throat can lead to enlarged lumps under the jawline which are most likely lymph nodes responding to a viral infection. This is the most likely cause of your lump.

There's a strange lump inside my ear lobe, does anyone know what could this be?

You should check with your health care providersHowever, I have experienced this lump in my ear lobe. My doctor said it was a sebaceous cyst.I am a zit popper and I would keep touching it and generally irritating it. It wold eventually swell and hurt. I would lance t and squeeze gobs of pus out. When it was drained I would dress it and let it heal. Sooner or later I would go through t againI eventually had it removed, which was what I should have done in the fist place
