Has Anyone Here Ever Switched Team

Is it ok to switch NFL teams?

I have always been a Browns fan and I always will be no matter what....well maybe wouldn't if Art Modell took over the team again but what are the chances of that happening ????

Has anyone switched from a service based company to a product based company?

I would say, every story of switching from service based to product based is different in its own way. Here is my storyI was hired in campus placement by MNC - service based in India. Most common thing about service based MNC is that, they hire mass recruitment of candidates and then MNC ask their clients for projects saying we have ton of resources. They dont even know what to do when their plan goes haywire. Same thing happened to me, they stalled me for 18+ months for my joining date and I was so naive (fresh out of college and in a party mood) I believed them the whole time. After joining, without any preference for technology, I was put on some support project. Started working my way up to enhancement project, development project, project estimation in the same project. I felt like I wasn't being appreciated for my work.Decided to pursue Masters. While studying, built my linked-in account to all-star profile and made sure all the information is present for the recruiter. Got few calls from few organization, but I was not able to pass their interviews. Then, got a call from startup-product based company, everything went well and I joined it. I never planned to switch from service based to product based, I just wanted the right job.My advice - If you have a target company in mind, you have already narrowed down a lot so just keep following up with the organization on their job portals, email, LinkedIn, friends at that organization. And if any product based company is fine for you, then try to get referrals. Referrals are more effective than your job application. My friend applied in a company and he did not get a call for more than a week, and later when he mentioned to me, I asked my friends (3-referrals in 1 day) to refer him and he got call from the same company on the same day. [True story bro meme here :)] I referred few of my friends in the same organization I am working right now and they are being considered. All the best!

Have nfl teams ever switched conferences?

Yeah, the Baltimore Colts used to play in the old NFL. Then they were switched to the AFC. I don't know why. Maybe to balance out possible rivalries such as against the Steelers. By the way, the Steelers used to be in the NFL, too, as were the Cleveland Browns.

When is it ok to switch your favorite team?

Here are the rules:

1:You are allowed to switch teams when you move to a city that is closer to another team other than your old team.

2:An expansion team or existing team relocates to a city that is closer to you.

3: Or vice versa your team moves farther away from you than another team.

4:If the team goes defunct

5:If you have two teams in the same city and you switch.

6:If you do not live near any teams and follow one team just to make the games interesting.

7:If a minor league franchise of a different team moves to your area and you root for the success of the guys you rooted for in the minors.

8:You are allowed to have a second favorite team as long as they do not regularly play your first favorite team. (they are in another league, division, conferance etc)

All of these rules are void if you switch to a team that traditionally wins the title often and is currently on a title winning streak. You are not allowed to switch to a defending champion until after they have had a losing season.

You may not switch mid season.

Anyone ever go to a "lifestyle" or "swingers" club?

So I think I've talked my wife into possibly checking out a club here in the city that's labeled a "lifestyle" or "swingers" club. We're not really interested in having sex with other people, just watching probably. Has anyone ever had any experiences with these types of clubs? What can I expect to be happening in there? Someone in a chat forum told me to be careful because you can sometimes get stalkers....is this part true? Thanks for any info.

DId anyone ever say to you, "close your legs....?

um no but nor do i walk around open

Has anyone ever changed domains in Cognizant?

Yes, you can surely switch between the verticals as well as technologies as per your desire.Firstly, I would like to discuss changing or switching between the verticals. By verticals I mean life sciences, banking and financial services, healthcare etc. You can switch easily if you have friends in other verticals who can refer you to their managers on the basis of requirement or some senior level person working in that vertical or BU, provided you have a release from your previous account. Because managers do not easily let go off their employees. This is because you are working for them and have a good grip plus knowledge of in and outs there. (Assuming you to be a good employee ;) ).Secondly, switching between technologies is difficult but not impossible. For example, you are working on a project as a Java developer and suddenly you realise you are better as a database administrator. So manager needs to be convinced that you really are good as DBA. Even if he is convinced and understand your aspirations, he need to convince the client on your DBA skills as you have a background of working as a JAVA developer.Switching from developer to tester might be easy but from Java to data warehouse might take a bit out of you. It is always better to discuss your aspirations with your leads and managers so that they could help you with your desires. Never hide it inside. All the best!

Why did Huk switch teams from Liquid to EG?

Here is a post on TL from Nazgul (the leader of Liquid) about it. "Farewell, Liquid`HuK")http://www.teamliquid.net/forum/...Seems like HuK's contract was expiring with Liquid and he just got a better offer from EG and couldn't turn it down. The last few weeks were the negotiation period of Huk's contract. We had known since a few months ago that it would be a difficult period. Coming off winning championships at Dreamhack and HSC, and with a legion of fans supporting him, it was obvious that there would be a lot of interest in acquiring HuK. For us, this meant making him an offer that we felt would rival any other offer that we thought could be made. To the furthest extent our finances would allow, we tried to keep HuK with the team. HuK, too, wanted to stay very much. He loved being a part of Liquid, and was willing to stay with us for significantly less than other teams. However, the offer that he received from EG wasn't just significant, it was potentially life-changing.EG fully recognized HuK's value as a player, and were absolutely single-minded in making sure they received his signature. Huk was placed at a crossroads that could influence the rest of his life and made the choice that he thought was best for him. I understand EG's reasoning in going after NA's best player and biggest superstar, and HuK's decision for joining them.I have to be perfectly honest here. As someone who is losing a player, I cannot say I liked his decision, nor can I deny that I feel some bitterness. And though this move hurts me greatly, I'm still happy for HuK. As an excellent pro-gamer and a great guy, HuK deserves the fruits of his labor.Later on on that thread, HuK explained his decision himself, writing:In then end I just want the best for everyone including myself. When I was trying to decide whether to stay with Liquid, or join EG, my biggest worry was that if I stayed with Liquid, I would regret it for business reasons. But now, even though I'm confident in my decision to join EG on a business level, I worry that I will end up regretting it on a personal level, because I will miss everyone so much. I wish all the best for TL, staff, team, and members wholeheartedly. Everyone that is a fan of "Liquid`HuK" I hope will continue to be a fan of 'Liquid' and 'HuK' when i move to EG.Overall, it seems like a business decision not a personal decision.

Switching favorite sports teams? I know its wrong but here's my story ...?

I am a HUGE 49ers fan, I've been since I was 6 ( now 26 ) and I would NEVER even think about switching NFL teams ..... But I also happen to be a Seattle Mariners fan in baseball and as you all know the rivalry between the niners and seahawks ... well they hate each other, same goes with the fans. And because of the rivalry I don't think I can root for the mariners anymore. I dislike the seahawks so much its hard for me still be a mariners fan, plus i'm from California and if I do this ill be going for the San Francisco Giants since i'm a niners fan. But I would like your opinions if you guys think its ok, or should I just suck it up and stay a mariners fan. Thanks

Has anyone ever applied to 500 Startups, been accepted, declined, reapplied and been accepted again?

There have been cases both ways — where companies declined our offer and then later were either accepted again or not made an offer. In general, if you decline our offer and then re-apply, we wouldn’t increase scrutiny, but here are some considerations:Change in market conditions of your space or vertical / did we invest in a competitor in the meantime? Do we think we’re overindexed in a particular space?Increase in bar for our program; we invest in roughly the same number of companies each batch but the number of applicants / companies we look at keeps increasing every batch. Even between a year ago and now, the bar has gone up considerably. The amount of progress we would’ve expected you to have made between the last time you applied and the next time you reapply. We definitely look at this on a case-by-case basis, so it’s hard to generalize.
