How long did it take to film the hunger games?
Principal filming lasted from May 2011 thru September 2011. Figure another 4 or 5 months of post-production work.
What does this mean on the Hunger Games?
The 3 fingers pressed to the lips and then held out is a symbol of honor but it can also be a goodbye to someone you love. They show the symbol because Katniss took her sister's place, which is a vary brave thing and has never happened before. "..We do not agree. We do not condone. All of this is wrong..." - The Hunger Games, Chapter One (talking about the symbol). So it could also go along with the theme of defiance, or standing up for what you believe in; in this case, saying no to the Capitol and paying respect to the tributes. Later on the the film, you see that District 11 gives Katniss the hand gesture during the Games and in Catching Fire, Katniss also receives this hand gesture again in District 11, so this means that it is not limited to District 12. Did anyone else get motion sickness in the Hunger Games movie?
Well, I don't get motion sickness from films, but my girlfriend does. This movie didn't seem to bother her too much. The movie she really couldn't watch was Paranormal activity. Same thing. Also why she would never watch Blair Witch Project. I think the biggest reason, they did this in The Hunger Games was that they didn't want the killing scenes, to be that graphic. They needed it not to be an R rating. Therefore they use all that film chicanery so you really get the point [no pun intended], but without showing a lot of blood, or gruesomeness.
Does anyone vomit in the hunger games catching fire movie?
I have terrible emetophobia (irrational fear of vomit/vomiting) and I want to go see the second hunger games movie soon when it comes out in theaters but if anyone throws up in it I either can't see it or I have to be warned in advance exactly when it is going to happen so that I can close my eyes and plug my ears or I will literally have nightmares about it and never be able to get the scenes out of my mind and I'll probably start crying too... I know it's kinda stupid but I can't help it. I've read all three books so I know they throw up in the books but in the first movie they eliminated the vomiting. Is there anyone who has seen it somehow already and if so what scenes about how far into the movie do which characters throw up if any?... :/
Pros and Cons of the movie the hunger games?
I honestly loved the movie so it's hard for me to say. It was by far the best book to film adaption I have ever seen. Pros - Stayed very true to the books - Acting was great - The new scenes worked very well with the overall story (they weren't just randomly thrown in there) - The camera work was cool! Loved how the camera was shaky when Katniss was running, Cons - The only cons I can think of is how the cut some characters like Madge, the Avox (even though she was there, she was never mentioned)

No vomiting at all. Hardly any blood either, just a bit. Have a great time, it's really good!
Sex in the Hunger Games? (Theoretical)?
So the topic came up when I was discussing the Hunger Games with my friends. One of them said that if it was them in a cave with Peeta with the possibility they could die they would have just done "it".This got us thinking. So there have been 73 other hunger games before the one with Katniss. Do you think that possible some sex happened? I mean 24 hormonal teenagers with basically nothing to live for and no rules. That also brought up the topic of rape. It could be possible that a boy tribute could rape a girl tribute then simply kill her. Do you think the Capital would show that? Also you have to think about the world they live in. The Capital would never allow contraceptives to the districts because they want them to have children to sacrifice to the Hunger Games. Even Katniss said she did not want to get married because she did not want kids. And Rue had 6 other siblings. Does this mean that the districts would encourage no sex until wedlock or no sex at all? Would they even think to have sex? Since the districts do not have pornography I would assume do they even think about it like we do today? I am just curious to hear what you think.
