Has Anyone Taken Courses At Washington State University Online

Is The University of Northern Washington a real University. I cannot find any ranking?

It appears that this is not a regionally accredited university.

On its accreditation page it says:"University of Northern Washington is accredited by the American Association of Private Post-Secondary Education". This is not one of the recognized regional accrediting agencies as listed below. Therefore, you will waste your money if you enrol in any of their programs.

The following are the regional accrediting agencies for educational institutions in the United States:

* Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools - Educational institutions in New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Delaware, Maryland, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, and the US Virgin Islands, as well as schools for American children in Europe, North Africa, and the Middle East.
* New England Association of Schools and Colleges - Educational institutions in the six New England states (Connecticut, Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Rhode Island, and Vermont).
* North Central Association of Colleges and Schools - Educational institutions in Arkansas, Arizona, Colorado, Iowa, Illinois, Indiana, Kansas, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, North Dakota, Nebraska, Ohio, Oklahoma, New Mexico, South Dakota, Wisconsin, West Virginia, and Wyoming.
* Northwest Association of Accredited Schools - Primary and secondary schools in Alaska, Idaho, Montana, Nevada, Oregon, Utah, and Washington.
* Northwest Commission on Colleges and Universities - Postsecondary institutions (colleges and universities) in Alaska, Idaho, Montana, Nevada, Oregon, Utah, and Washington.
* Western Association of Schools and Colleges - Educational institutions in California, Hawaii, Guam, American Samoa, Micronesia, Palau, and Northern Marianas Islands.
* Southern Association of Colleges and Schools - Educational institutions in Virginia, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina, Alabama, Tennessee and Texas.

Is Washington State University or Arizona State University online master degrees worth it?

State universities in general are well respected, including those you mentioned. The bigger issue is that online degrees are not well accepted. There have been widespread reports of students cheating in online programs by hiring an impostor to take the courses. The school has no way of knowing who is actually doing the work. As a result, ANY online degree is considered somewhat bogus, regardless of the school. Obviously it is far easier for a student to cheat in an online program versus a monitored classroom. Also be aware that just because a college has accreditation at it's campus, that does not automatically mean that it's online programs have the same level of accreditation.
Other issues are that some studies must be done in person to be credible, for example lab work or student teaching. It has been said that the "distance learning" student learns to be distant from any decent learning! Obviously no online program can be as good as the learning experience and personal interaction of actual classroom attendance. Employers check credentials and often automatically reject job applicants listing ANY online degree. Don't waste your time and money on an online program that won't be well accepted. Attend college in person-You'll be glad you did!

Has anyone taken classes through ASU Online?

You would be wise to avoid any online program because they are not well received in the job market or for transfer. The "graduate" of an online program may have done nothing but hire an impostor to take the courses. Thus, an online degree is of dubious merit. Employers often automatically reject job applicants withe ANY online degree or ANY for-profit school background. See RipOffReport.com for reviews of colleges to avoid.
There is an old saying that the "distance learning " student may have learned nothing but how to be distant from real learning! No online program can be as good as the learning experience and personal interaction of actual classroom attendance.

Can I take classes online in my resident state?

For purposes of tuition and "claimed residency," you are a resident of Washington state until you declare residency in Hawaii. In other words, you can continue to take online courses there under in state tuition until a year in your new state of residence has passed.

This seems counterintuitive, but it works this way to account for individuals who might move to another state for six months, or a month or two to take care of family.

Ultimately, there is some discretion on the part of the registrar's office at the school you are taking the classes from, but as long as you do not start taking any classes in Hawaii, you should be able to take in-state tuition courses in Washington until you declare residence in Hawaii.

Online courses for physical therapy assistant programs?

Unfortunately, core PTA classes are not online. Most are during the day. Clinical affiliations are full time and generally days. Some pre reqs may be offered at night or online--english, psy, math etc.
