Has Hrh Queen Elizabeth Ii Made Any Contributions Or Changes In Any Of Her Residences

What are some interesting facts about Queen Elizabeth II?

She has someone else to break in her shoes for her.According to a multitude of British media outlets, Queen Elizabeth II's household hires someone to break in her shoes before she wears them. According to the Standard, the Queen has ‘hired such a Royal Shoe Breaker-Inner’. This is someone who is hired to walk around Buckingham Palace in the Queen’s new leather shoes to break in the leather and thus make sure that the Queen does not get any blisters. The reason for this is that the Queen can never say that she is uncomfortable and therefore cannot walk anymore. This means that any shoes she wears have to be immediately comfortable and allow her to carry out her duties. One of the most worn pair that Queen Elizabeth II wears are her black patent Anello & Davide shoes. In order to be able to be considered for such a role the person in question has to have a size 4 (US size 5) like the Queen. (It is a shame that I am a size 4.5 or I may have applied for a laugh). Furthermore according to the Evening Standard, the person who breaks in the Queen's shoes has to wear a pair of cotton ankle socks, and only walk on carpet. Why are the Brits still happy with funding the extravagant lives of the royal family?

Since 1760, the Royal Family has handed over the revenue from lands which they legitimately own as private individuals, in return for an annuity. If the state ceased to pay them the annuity it would have to hand back the Crown Estates, otherwise it would be committing theft. And the state makes enormously more money out of the Crown Estates than it spends paying the annuity. They’re also a vital, money-spinning part of our tourist industry, double as diplomatic and trade representatives for no extra pay, and manage major charities which make a huge contribution to British life. They also donate quite a lot of their money back again. Prince Charles, (who lives on the salary he gets for running the Duchy of Cornwall businesses), for example, pays for the training of a cancer-specialist nurse out of his own pocket every year.
