What Conservative President erased America's Debt?

History shows that the economy does better under Democratic administrations than under Republican administrations. Those are just facts.

And it’s true right now. Under GW, we were losing 800,000 jobs per month. Under Obama, we turned that around and have created over 4 million new jobs.

Obama, 2012

Will a socialistic society erase poverty?

Yes.With modern industrial, agricultural, and other technologies we have the ability to feed every single person the planet. We have empty homes while we have homeless people. We have more people wanting to work and employers that need them, but the system is too inefficient to bring the two together.A socialist society is not constrained by the demand for profit. The socialist system exists to serve people, not the other way around. Capitalism is about property before people, profit before people. Socialism is about people before property, people and profit should not exist in tension.A system where all the means of production are owned by the public and centralized planning efficiently deals with human problems, including homelessness, hunger, and lack of medical care is the ideal. In a socialist system there is free housing, free medical care, free education, free food, and subsidized utilities.

Will Mexico ever be a world power, or take over America?

Right on, Right on, hermana! Hey I wish I could ride a burro and I do eat tacos all the time, pero ni modo pues! Seriously though,Mexico can and will surprise the world in the maybe not too distant future.Oh yeah,we got a little narco war(thanks to the dope head americans), but really,Mexico is growing and advancing by leaps and bounds. Hey ,just think of this, what if the narcowar was in the US , with heads being left along the side the road, your criminal politicians and thug police being executed daily. Wow, America would come to a standstill. Paranoia would sweep the nation. The transportation system would be shut down. Martial law would be declared. Confusion would reign with people afraid to step out of their house. Everyone outside of the US knows about how "delicate" americans are! But in Mexico,we just step over the heads, quietly cheer every time another criminal mayor or corrupt policeman are knocked off and go on with our lives! New factories continue to be built all over the country! New government aid and assistance programs to the marginalized classes continue to come about and function! Computer and cell phone usage increase every single day! There was once a time when Mexicans had to go to the US to buy certain electronic items or advanced machinery, not much any more as everything one could ever want is now available in Mexico with many electronic items actually cheaper than what you'll pay in the US( I know, as last year I worked for Telcel(cell phones) and SKY(Satellite dish)). Mexico is advancing at a much faster rate than the US and we now are looking more to the south for our future(great advancing nations like Brasil,Venezuela,Peru,Bolivia and Argentina),rather than to the imperialist north which stole almost half our territory and has exploited us ever since(and most of all,is now in decline). As we approach the elections of 2012,there is now a good chance we will break with the pro american terrorist politics and move forward. Mexico will never forget history which can never be erased! The US unjustly and brutally stole almost half our territory in 1848 and believe me,the day WILL come that we will take it back, one way or another!! Viva Mexico!!

I need and outline for a research paper about poverty.. Help!!!!?

1.) What is poverty?
2.) Poverty affects more than a billion people worldwide.
3.) The affects of poverty ripples throughout society. (higher medical insurance, homelessness, lower education standards, disease, etc...)
4.) Solutions to poverty.

What is poverty? Poverty is hunger. Poverty is lack of shelter. Poverty is being sick and not being able to see a doctor. Poverty is not having access to school and not knowing how to read. Poverty is not having a job, is fear for the future, living one day at a time. Poverty is losing a child to illness brought about by unclean water. Poverty is powerlessness, lack of representation and freedom.

Income inequality in America?

Honestly, our government has no interest in helping to erase poverty in America. Neither does anyone else for that matter. When was the last time that you saw a celebrity raising money for inner city food banks? They all come out in times of disaster, but other than that they seem more concerned about feeding people in Africa and other countries. I have often felt that a new bias has overtaken America, and it is class warfare. Even Oprah feels that since she was able to make it so can't everyone else. Many believe that poor Americans are simply lazy and so deserve their plight. I grew up extremely poor, and know what it is like to eat from the food bank. I am now a productive adult with a master's degree who donates regularly to local charities. Unfortunately, I am often saddened by my friends response to Americans who are less fortunate. Realistically, the only way to even begin to address this issue is to work on changing every Americans heart, mind, and attitude towards people who experience financial hardship in this country.

Why is poverty still in existence?

Poverty exists because of two key factors:Lack of skills or education relative to the relative population at large.  This is a relative comparison within a given society where you will have similar groups competing for economic resources or means to generate wealth.Displacement due to external factors such as war or weather.  Wars and drought cause a great deal of human population displacement and can bring about a severe negative impact to the person's means to generate income or provide for their families.  While both of the above factors may drive someone to poverty, I would argue that  lack of skills or education is the most pernicious reason for sustained poverty over a long time period.  Conversely, it is also something that we have the most control over in terms of social policy where as wars and droughts are generally beyond anyone's level of control.Data in the US shows the strongest correlation between education level and income (and poverty level income as defined by the US Government)As seen in the above two graphs, those with less than high school education account for a large percentage of the population in poverty.  The income disparity is also stark with someone with a Bachelor's degree making more than double in annual income compared to someone who did not graduate high school.  Lifetime earnings likely show an even greater split. What makes lack of education such an oppressive factor is that it denies those in poverty the means to better themselves over time.  The means of economic production in a developed economy like the US is skills and education.  Without having those means, the economic output of those in poverty stagnate further from the rest of the population. The above chart vividly illustrates how the educated class in America is pulling ahead in terms of income growth while those at the bottom have barely grown in their ability to generate income over the past 40 years. If we can increase the education and skill level of the bottom half of the population in the US (and I would argue this is true throughout the world), we would make a significant advance in lowering the poverty rate.  There are no easy solutions, and many may disagree on the "how", but I think most would agree that lack of education/skills is one of the key drivers of the "why" in poverty.
