Has The Feminist Movement Evolved From

How did the women's rights movement evolved out of other reform movements, especially the abolition movement?

The women's suffrage movement and abolitionism were closely intertwined at their origins. Feminist leader Susan B. Anthony served as the principal New York agent for William Lloyd Garrison's American Anti-Slavery Society, and delivered speeches urging her audiences to "make the slave's case our own."

What can the feminist movement do to include men in the movement while maintaining safe spaces for women?

Eliminate the whole IDEA of "safe spaces," something that only exists in bank vaults (and who has the combination?), and the DELIBERATE and DETERMINED defense of generalized anti-male proposals, concepts, and remarks by feminists.

But feminists refuse to even condemn calling for men to be put in CAMPS, fer cryin' out loud, not even saying "bad joke, you idiot," with many a real world example besides that columnist.

Denial, pretense, or defense, of misandry does NOT help bring men around.

And like it or not, sheer numbers and demographics means you _better_ bring some men around.

Feminists often make enemies of those who need not be so. My guess is, it's middle-class pride. Their working class sisters are fighting for their lives, and THEY seldom act like that.

Could feminism ever evolve to become a hate-movement against men?

It seems like it went as far as it was going to go in that direction in the 70s. The misandrist elements of feminism are currently viewed as fringe by just about everyone, and they seem to live only in the anonymity of the Internet. It's very rare I meet someone who openly advocates preventing boys from being born or forced segregation of the sexes under feminist justifications, while as far as I can tell from popular literature from the period, this was less unheard of 40 years ago. It's possible, but as long as explicit misandry remains socially taboo (and thankfully I think it very much is), I wouldn't worry about it.

According to you, by which year will the feminist movement end?

I don't think the feminist movement will "end" but I do think it is constantly evolving. There are times that I think to myself, "Yes, I'm definitely a feminist". Much of that is related to the education I received as a midwife and my work. Then I read brilliant pieces of writing like this from Ruth Fowler: http://therumpus.net/2013/02/it-...And I think, ok maybe I'm not. I think it is important to recognise that there are many different "brands" of feminism and that not only do different people have different brands that suit them but they also move in and out of them at different times of their lives. So the evolution that I'm talking about it more like the growth of a tree with its different branches growing outwards rather than a linear type of development.

What are some ways that movements like feminism hinder progress for women?

What are some ways that movements like feminism hinder progress for women?I don’t accept that the feminist movement does hinder women. A question like this, could only really be answered by people who have been involved with feminist movement and have experience with it from the inside.Any man posting an answer with no experience in the movement is more than likely speaking out an insecurity at the prospect of women as equals, or from a chauvinistic point of view.I don’t want to give the impression that a man cannot answer this question reasonably, after all, I am attempting to.But I have never been involved in the feminist movement and I am saying as an educator, and as the REAL Fel Rouse, that only someone with some experience with the movement could give accurate answers with evidence.Without that, anyone else posting an answer is just giving an opinion and we all have those. And a lot of them stink.
