I hate lunch at school?

I understand exactly how you feel. The worst feeling ever at school is to eat lunch alone, especially because we must go to it almost every day of school. Don't let your grades be an excuse for not sitting with people at lunch. That's down time during the day. There WILL be people at lunch who have noone to sit with just like you. Find a table with peolple in the 10th grade and start sitting with them. Start talking, and who knows, you could make some new lunch buddies! I have no idea whatsoever if I will have any lunch friends when I get to school, but I can't worry about it until school starts. If you continue to eat by yourself noone will come up to you. That's just how it is in high school. Socialize. You choose your friends. They don't choose you. It will be better, just put in effort. Have fun!

I hate school lunch programs!!!?

I have been a vegetarian for a year and a half and have always gotten along just fine. At my middle school they put out bread and peanut butter and jelly everyday, so if there was nothing else for me to eat, I could always have that. They had salad bar most of the time too. At my new high school I am not so fortunate. They have salad bar about every other week and never put out any bread for sandwiches. They do no serve any vegetarian meals so I usually eat fruits, vegetables, milk, occasional bread items, and a little bit of dessert when they decide to serve it. I am not complaining about the food though. I have never been a big eater and I eat plenty during the day. I usually will eat a good breakfast, a light lunch, a snack when I get home, and then a normal supper. This works fine for me and if people would shut up and let me be, I would be content. The problem here is that my school enforces a 3 rule. This means that you have to have 3 items on your tray (not including something to drink) or you will be stopped and sent back to get something else. So today I am getting ready to walk out and go sit down with a big serving of fruit, chips with salsa, and a carton of milk. This should be plenty to hold me over until I get home. Apparently it's not though because I was asked to go back and get something else. What the heck am I going to get? There is nothing else for me to eat. So finally I take the smallest spoonful of baked beans that I possibly can and unhappily sit down. In the end I just threw them away because I can't eat them. They know I am vegetarian, but they just won't listen! I just want to go up to them and punch them in the face too because I don't know how many times I have seen kids get away with eating just a hamburger. They don't have 3 items, but it doesn't matter because it's meat. WTF?! Anyone have any ideas what I should do? I am scared to really say anything because they will think that I'm being disrespectful, when all I am really trying to do is practice my beliefs.

In high school, do all kids have lunch at the same time?

It depends on the school. The schools in my region do not.At my school:9th graders (freshmen) all share the same lunch from 10:55 AM to 12:20 PM.10th graders (sophomores) all share the same lunch from 12:15 PM to 1:40 PM.11th graders (juniors) may be assigned lunch from 9:35 AM to 11:00 AM, 10:55 AM to 12:20 PM, or 12:15 AM to 1:40 PM.12th graders (seniors) may have lunch during any of the periods juniors have off, as well as a spare during any other part of the day. Alternatively, they may have period 1 and 5 off, meaning that they get 2 spares with no lunch.Depending on the number of students in your school, a common lunch may or may not exist. It may even be possible for younger grades to have different lunch periods if your school is especially packed/if the class scheduling works out a certain way.

What should I do at lunch at school with no friends?

As a loner, I get where you’re coming from. I know most of the people in my grade, and I just don’t like them. If you’d rather make new friends and you feel like trying today, then you should read some of the other answers. Everyone has some helpful tips. This list, however, will tell you where you can chill until lunch is over.Working lunch/classroom under supervision: My school had working lunch, which means there’s a teacher in every grade who eats lunch in their classroom to supervise those who have “detention” or anyone who needs to catch up on work. If you can find a similar situation, this is a great option. Bring a book.Libraries or tech labs: Once you’ve finished your lunch, you can walk to your library (if you have one) or a tech lab to spend the remainder of your lunch.Sit at a table of acquaintances: Hear me out. If you just go up to a group of people you know, and you politely ask, “Can I sit here?” or better yet, “Can I read here?”, most people would be okay with it. It’s easier than you think.Extracurricular rooms: It isn’t difficult to find out if you can eat lunch with your drama or band teacher, and whether or not other students are doing the same. All you have to do is ask. That’s all I can come up with for now.

Lunch detention or after school detention?

After school.

The problem with lunch detention is that it does cut into a sorely needed down time. After lunch the students would be too wound up to pay attention in the afternoon lessons, causing further disruptions.

Plus, after school also eats into the after-school routine -- others (parents/ coaches/ etc) are bound to notice and stress the seriousness of the punishment.

School Lunch ideas? For Teens?

I was a teen not too long ago. I take some of these to work as lunch. They should still appeal to high schoolers:

Asian Chicken Salad...literally tri-color salad mix, shredded grilled chicken, chopped baby carrots, onion, tomato, and bell pepper. Top with crispy wanton strips! Bring a separate container of Asian-style dressing to mix when you're ready to eat. Keep everything in a re-usable, insulated lunch bag. Ice packs are good, too. Takes about 10 min to prepare.

California Turkey Sandwich: Fresh turkey breast (not the processed deli-style turkey), lettuce, tomato, and two slices of avocado. Be sure to squeeze the avocado with a citrus fruit to prevent oxidation. Wrap tightly and keep cold.

It's important to have a balanced lunch, since it helps keep you full and concentrated for the remainder of the school day. Whole grains, nuts, fruits, and vegetables keep you full and have added health benefits. Bring a granola bar (which doesn't have sugar listed as the first ingredient) to snack on, too. Wash down lunch with water from a re-usable water bottle.
