Have Any Of You Snuck Into General Admission At A Concert

It depends on the venue. One obvious “pro” is that they tend to be less expensive than reserved seats to the same show. They also give you more freedom of movement within the general admission area, so you are not as confined to one spot.“Cons”? Well, everyone else gets that same freedom of movement within the general admission area, which may mean a view obstructed by that group of really tall guys in front of you. Your personal space may be sacrificed in the process.Other things are venue specific. At many small- to medium-sized spots in my town, the reserved seats are balcony seating, which means a less obstructed view; but the general admission area is adjacent to the front of the stage. If being up-close and personal to the band is your thing, then this would fall squarely into the “pro” category. At venues where “general admission” means “lawn seating,” however, you are actually paying the premium to be closer to the music.

You’re right about getting there early to get decent parking and a decent spot to see the band. I’m guessing your “outdoor venue essentials” include sunscreen, a fully charged cellphone, good shoes, and cash for food and merchandise. Bring your own bottled water if the venue allows you to do it.As for other advice, you should locate all the exits, especially the one(s) closest to wherever you’ll be standing for the show. You want to know how to get out if something bad goes down while you’re there.I don’t know if this is part of a music festival or not, but give yourself some downtime if it is. You need to take sometime to eat something at least reasonably healthy, drink some water, and get out of the sun.

What exactly is general admission in a concert?

Hello Andrew! Being in California, I will do my BEST to assist you with the most helpful answer I can give you...The difference between a general admission and a reserved section ticket is that the GENERAL ADMISSION ticket gets you into the concert in the basic seating area, basic food concession area, and general-use bathrooms. The RESERVED SEATING area usually has a special entrance to the venue...special parking, special seating areas/access to extras. The RESERVED tickets ALWAYS cost more...like out here in Cali...in September, there is a concert called epicenter at the california speedway. (californiaspeedway.com) Kiss and Eminem will be headlining. The tickets for General admission are $80.00. The V.I.P. tickets are $200.00 for 1 day...or $375 for 2 days. The V.I.P. ticket is the same as your RESERVED tickets. It's just always best to spend a little more and have a more enjoyable time...though, I have attended alot of great concerts with only a general admission ticket. Have a good time buddy!!

Where and What exactly is the General Admission in a Concert?

GA usually means the opposite of "reserved", so it's probably just a grass or dirt area without seats...so it's first come first served to stake out a good spot. So get there early and hopefully you will be with a group so you can save each other's spot if you have to go to restroom or concession stand. If it is right up front, then yes that's probably the mosh pit. Hope you are a hardcore fan, because that's where they will all be--screaming and singing along with the lyrics. Will they all stand up the whole time, or do people bring folding chairs or blankets?
Sometimes general admission is further back or standing room only type areas up high. Somebody more familiar with the particular arena where you are going would probably be able to tell you better.

Can i sneak into general admission?

Depends how high security is. If it's high and they're giving out wristbands, simply wait till the concert gets heated then sneak in! It's also a good idea to make friends with someone in GA. After theyre in, get their ticket from over the 'barricade' and use it to sneak it. They wont need it anymore!!

What is General Admission seating?

Depends on where the concert is. For instance, I went to see They Might Be Giants, (awesome concert by the way), and we were seated General Admission, with assigned seat numbers (seated in the order they were bought) because the concert hall was a theater and there was no running around space. Variantly, When I went to see Aerosmith General Admission was pretty much a seat number to confirm that no two of the same tickets were sold.... you make a color copy of a ticket with the same seat number as someone who's all ready gotten into the concert and it won't work.... get it? --Lee Ann

Can i sneak into general admission?

Good luck.... those types of concerts have security ALL OVER THE PLACE and if they catch you trying to sit in an area that you do NOT belong in, they DO have the authority to toss you OUT THE FRONT DOOR and then you won't even see ANY of the show.......remember, somebody probably paid TWICE AS MUCH as you did for tickets for THEIR RIGHT to stay down by the stage...

How hard is it to sneak into general admission at warfield theatre, SF, or any venue?

I do! I normally sneak in a water bottle and nothing else, but occasionally I will bring candy. The 2 strangest things I have brought are a bowl of noodles (from a noodle takeout restaurant) and a whole cake. The noodles were when we showed up 4 hours early to Harry Potter 5 and needed to eat dinner, and the cake was a friend's birthday! When I worked at a movie theater, we caught a person sneaking in 2 dozen cupcakes. We let them bring them in--but they had to share. :-)

The first concert I ever saw, The Monkees in Spokane, Washington. There was a young fellow named Jimi Hendrix who was the opening act. No one had ever heard of him outside of England at that time.5 of us pitched in to buy one ticket, 4 of us went to a side door and waited while the 5th went inside and popped the door. We scrambled in 5 directions and no one got caught. The next time was the first show at the Paramount Theater in 1970 after the theater had been dark for over a decade. It was B.B. King with the Dave Lewis Trio opening. I was alone so I just looked around the building until I found a weakness, an open door, and snuck in.I wound up managing that theater a few years later.
