Have I Stopped Growing Taller

Signs that you've stopped growing taller?

They say you generally end up within 3 inches above or below your fathers height. And seeing as you are only 15 id say youve plenty of growing time left and seeing as youre almost the same height as your dad id reckon you could make it up to 3 inches taller than him. Which would mean youd be about 5'8 which is a nice height, its a little below avg but definitely not short! Good luck, hopefully you get to atleast 5'8'' :)

Have I stopped growing at 15?

Ok bro. What I'm about to tell you is a true story.

At 16, I was 5'5''. I was depressed about my height... my crush was taller than me... embarassing. I was also pretty heavy at 152 pounds.
At 18 (currently), I'm 5'10'' (my growth plates are still open, i had a 4 inch growth spurt this year within 2 months). I weigh 147 pounds lol. When you grow taller, you get skinny. Now I'm really skinny compared to my bulky old self.
Go to your doctor maybe they estimate height pretty good. My doctor said there is a good chance I peak over 6 feet. But not by much, maybe an inch.
My brother is 5'10 as well, he's 21. He grew 4 inches between 19-21.

My dad is 5'5 1/2
My mom is 5'2.
My dad's side was also extremely tall. I have 3 cousins who are 6'3''+
And many who are 5'9''+
And then the few who are lower than 5'6'' (meaning at the lowest 5'3''-5'4'')
According to my dad, one of his brothers (who i've met only once) was a really tall fella who was over six feet easily.
ACcording to my mom side, the height ranges at the peak around 5'9. The rest range from 5'3-5'9. Mostly average height if not shorter.

Have i stopped growing taller?

To grow taller plenty of protein, calcium, vitamin D and zinc all help.

To reach your potential height you need adequate sleep (from 8-10 hours per night), adequate calories and a normal healthy diet.

Plenty of protein from eggs, meat, poultry, sea food and dairy products helps as well as calcium from milk, cheese and other dairy products. You also need plenty of zinc from red meat, oysters, mussels, nuts and seeds and zinc fortified cereals such as Weetbix. Vitamin D3 via the Sun also helps.

Girls usually stop growing at 15 and in most cases any further height growth from 15-21 is insignificant but there are exceptions such as late bloomers.

Guys usually stop growing at 18 and in most cases any further height growth from 18-25 is insignificant but there are exceptions such as late bloomers.

Under eating and under sleeping can, to some extent, stunt your height growth. Exercise does not help your height growth and smoking can actually reduce your potential height by a whole inch. Too much junk sugar can reduce your HGH level as in item 40 in http://www.rheumatic.org/sugar.htm

Have i stopped growing i mean im tall as it is...?

Hi Tara,
First of all, how well do you like being 6'4? Do you mind being so much taller than your family? How do you feel about growing even more?
You may have some sort of hormonal problem and you should probably be checked out by a more experienced doctor.
I know some girls who are a little taller than you at your age, so 6'4 is not insanely tall. Chances are that you will grow some more (maybe more than most girls).
Feel free to message me to discuss more.

When do you know if you've stopped growing taller?

It depends on your age, nutrition and that you do not have dwarfism. Your physician can best advise. In males, (at least in my case), I was at 90% of my adult height by age 13. My pediatrician, who charted my growth from before I was one, showed me the chart and said I would top out at about 6 feet. She was correct. When you are younger, you will undergo several growth spurts starting and ending at various ages, with plateaus in-between.Your earliest growth spurts are fairly large as a percentage of your starting height. You come into the world about 18–24 inches long and by age two you might have grown 50 percent or more. You are not likely too exceed that rate but you will exceed that height of course.Growth continues relatively steadily until a few years before puberty. (We are all different, keep in mind.)Usually there is a final growth spurt, maybe two, as puberty sets in. Then it is a race to the finish, the last often being dramatic compared to the former. Usually by age 18 one is done, but similar to onset of puberty and adolescence, there is wide variation.I recently heard that once young women begin menses that their growth is effectively done. If this is current information, I have not seen that in my experience. Assuming a typical female begins menses at ages 11 to 14, the several family members and children of friends have all gained probably another ten percent in height until age 18 and even 20. So many variables. So I repeat, speak to your physician.
