Have You Been To A Concert At The Shrine Auditorium

Have you ever been to a concert?

Dear Jose Escobar,When I lived in Seattle, my friend and I always had season tickets to the Seattle Symphony…Seattle Opera too…but then I saw your other answers!Have you ever been to a concert? Who was it?My years in San Francisco were wonderful for (what is now) classic rock. At Fillmore West, you could see Janis Joplin, Big Brother and the Holding Company; many wonderful artists of the day and I did go there. I loved Credence Clearwater Revival…you could go out into the Panhandle of Golden Gate Park and there were rock bands every weekend.* * *However, those years 1967 - 69 in SF, I developed a love for jazz/blues; wonderful artists played at the clubs in the Fillmore District and Broadway. You could hear Theolonius Monk, Miles Davis, Ahmad Jamal, Ray Charles, Jimmy Smith…and I did hear them, I was in love with them all!Oh, and Mahalia Jackson sang in concert at the San Francisco Symphony…this song gave me chills first time I heard it…her voice is almost unbelievable so beautiful… never really got over it!

How much would a new auditorium cost?

That's impossible to answer unless you talk to a contractor, but seeing as a quote would cost you money then it's not a good idea. But estimated it would cost well over $750,000

Shrine auditorium in Los Angeles pit, can you get in the pit even if you have other tickets?

If I arrive early enough can I make it into the pit, I know some venues let people rush into the pit I was wondering if it was the same at the shrine auditorium in Los Angeles? Anyone know?

Is there an age limit for Together as One rave for 2013-2014?

Yes, the age limit is 18. That's because a 16YO died during the 2011 rave. The promoters of TAO are getting their @$$es sued, and they are no longer allowed to have the event in LA. NYE 2013 was canceled because they couldn't get a permit for the Shrine Auditorium. There have been no plans announced for TAO 2013/14 in LA. I heard that they tried to have it in remote OC, but don't think that got off the ground.

Perhaps you have info I don't? Where did you hear they are having it?

What is the Yaarab Temple Shrine Mosque?

660 Peachtree Street NE
Atlanta, Georgia 30308
(404) 881-2100

Atlanta's Fox Theatre, originally the Yaarab Temple Shrine Mosque, was designed in the late 1920's as headquarters for the 5,000-member Shriners organization.

It was a beautifully outlandish, opulent, grandiose monument to the heady excesses of the pre-crash 1920's, a mosque-like structure complete with minarets, onion domes, and an interior decor which was even more lavish than its facade.

Entering the huge auditorium, an early reviewer for the Atlanta Journal described "a picturesque and almost disturbing grandeur beyond imagination. Visitors encounter an indoor Arabian courtyard with a sky full of flickering stars and magically drifting clouds; a spectacular striped canopy overhanging the balcony; stage curtains depicting mosques and Moorish rulers in hand sewn sequins
and rhinestones."
