Have You Ever Been Scammed On Ebay

Have you ever been scammed on eBay?

A couple of times! I’m not stupid, but I’m just not wired to think of all the ways you can cheat someone. I once had a vintage, fairly rare sugar bowl in mint condition to sell. I always went to extremes to make sure that my descriptions were accurate and do things like run my fingers over the edge of chinaware to detect flea bites or tiny nicks. Well, my sugar bowl sold for a really good amount. I shipped using my usual bubble wrap and styrofoam peanuts in a sturdy box. In other words, a raw egg should have survived the shipment. The buyer contacts me saying that the bowl arrived with a sizable chip on the rim, and somehow the fragment mysteriously was not in the box. She was accusing me of false advertising. She offered to keep it for a half price refund, of course. I refused and asked her to send back. Sure enough, it comes back with a notable chip - to me, an obvious switcharoo, my mint sugar bowl for her damaged one. So yeah, I consider that a scam.I did some reading on the eBay chinaware forums, and this was a topic of more than a few discussions. The suggestion to get around this scam was to mark your pieces before sending with a black light marker that is invisible to the eye. That way you can tell if the returned item is actually yours.

I got scammed on ebay.?

Yes, if you have opened a dispute through paypal you will get a full refund. The seller has to provide a valid tracking number to paypal to prove the item was sent, in this case, some idiot was trying to scam people and thinks they got away with it, but as soon as you filed that dispute the funds were frozen in his paypal account. sorry you had this experience on ebay and always use paypal to pay with so you have this coverage. Always look at a seller's feedback in the future before bidding on something, especially if it is expensive. They should have at least a 99% feedback and the closer to 100% the better.

Have you ever gotten scammed on eBay?

I tried to sell my car on ebay and it was just awful. This guy who won the bid kept saying he'd show up and it was just a nightmare
. I had all these problems and ebay didn't do anything expect try to bill me. I also told my cerdit card to deny them. Now they thought they were going to call me six times a day until I started calling them back and making rude comments. Its a rip off. I finally sold my car on craigs list. Its free.

I just got scammed on ebay, what can I do?

I decided to sell this airsoft gun on ebay for $60, I paid $100 and it was in pretty good condition. So this guy bought it and said he couldn't pay me right away but we worked out a deal that I would send it and would get the money that next friday since I didn't feel like waiting for another buyer. That day comes and I dont get a response for a while, the buyer responds and it turns out this guy is a 12 year old kid and he cant get the money from his parents yet. I decided to go easy on him and finally he sent it (or so he told me). Then a week after theres no package and I confront the kid. He said he forgot and is sending it now. A week later nothing comes and before I get a chance to open a dispute and the 45 days is apparently up. I cant even contact the kid because I just get an error no matter what device Im on. Im pretty sure Ive been scammed and ebay is useless what do I do?

Can I get a refund on eBay if I get scammed? Is it even safe to buy from eBay?

Yes.EBay has a Money Back Guarantee. There are rules about this. You have to go through the Resolution Centre. You have to wait until the last estimated date for delivery (if Not Received) or until delivered (for Not As Described). You only have 30 days from those dates to Dispute. You have to return a Not As Described item to the seller, however the seller pays return postage. And if that doesn’t work out, you can go to Paypal, whose Buyer Protection extends for 180 days from Payment. And if that doesn’t work out, you can go to the credit card you back your PP account with, and use their chargeback service. Is three layers of protection enough? But before you buy, read the Description. Does it match the picture? Does it match the Title? Before you buy, if you have any questions, you can Contact the Seller. If you don’t get a satisfactory reply, move on. If you don’t get any reply, do NOT buy. It won’t get better. Before you buy, look at the seller’s feedback. This is only the opinion of previous customers, but it still can be useful.Look at the percentage of positive feedback. Is it over 98? (99% for overseas sellers). Anything less is a Bad Seller.Look at what any negative or neutral FB actually says. Some will be from idiots who will never be happy. But what you are looking for is a pattern of complaints: poor quality, poor communication, slow delivery, etc.Look at Responses to FB. Angry Responses are a sign of a Bad Seller.Look for gaps in FB. A seller who has not bought or sold in over a year may have been hacked. Are the products consistent with previous sales or purchases? Or did he switch from Hummel figurines to laptops? Are the prices on the new listings unbelievably low? If it seems to good to be true, it probably isn’t.

Have you ever been ripped-off or scammed on eBay?

I have had pretty good luck for the most part on E Bay,I did get a tuner once and it quit working 30 min. after I got it,I never could get a response from the pwerson I bought it from so I wrote bad feedback against them, then the person wrote me angrty about the bad feedback and said he would take the tuner back if I paid the shipping,I told him that was more than I paid for it so he needed to make me a better offer than that, well never heard from him again, but you can file a complaint with pay pal and if they find it legit they will get you your money back and make them pay for it.

Ebay listing removed -did I get scammed?

This one sounds odd.

The only reason I can think of this happening is due to some sort of bidder interference with the bidding. I've seen cases like this where eBay will just outright make the listing disappear.

I'd personally feel safe in going with whatever eBay/PayPal suggest. If you get the item and you're happy with it, then all's good and you can consider this issue closed.

If you never get the item, then you should get your money. I doubt there's really any chance you WON'T get it, since PP started the dispute, which is usually something they do to protect BUYERS and not sellers.

Hope this helps.
