Have You Ever Bought Clothing For Yourself From A Children

Designer clothes for young children, good or bad thing?

Clothes are just clothes. I put my little girl in whatever is cute and clean!!!!
I don't want to teach her that her self-esteem and worth is based on what the tag in her shirt says.

Adults wearing children's clothes.?

It has been common practise here in UK for adults of petite proportions to wear children's clothes. Why? Because there is no VAT to pay, thus children's clothes are much cheaper than their adult equivalent by about 17.5% in most cases.

Anyone who can fit into children's clothes should wear them.

The reason why some shops sell larger than expected children's clothes is because a child will grow at a startling rate, even in a single year.

Harcking back to my own childhood, from about 5 or 6 onwards, I needed new shoes (a bigger size) almost every year until I finally got to man's size 9 which is about average here in UK.

Naturally, if I could sqeeze into a size 7 boy's shoe, I would buy same.

There is no possibility of my ever squeezing into children's clothes now or ever, not since age 16 in 1957 anyway.

Girth seems to be the main problem.

Does my bum look big in this? Yes!

Do you dress your kids in designer clothing?

Well for someone with 6 kids you must be VERY well off to dress your kids in expensive garms & accessories....So if you have the money and *YOU* like the clothes, it's not "stupid & snobby."
For me the only thing that matters when I am choosing clothes for my daughter is if they fit MY standard & are MY taste....there are some designer clothes that to me look absolutly shite!.. & some that look good....As long as your not buying designer kiddy gear to impress or show off your money then there's no problem. Is there? I guess your friend was just understandably jealous.

Having said that...Is there any real need to dress your kids UP when their just playing around the house?

PS: You have decent taste in baby names : )

When was the last time you bought something really expensive for yourself --and not for your kids?

They sound sexy- Mind if I borrow them...? :) Lol.

The last time I bought something expensive for myself would be...not since january! I brought a super expensive dress to wear to an event. That is strange, because usually I am a HUGE shopper. Maybe I am subconsciously waiting to lose this baby weight before I buy anything else haha.

Go ahead and spurge sometimes! As long as your kids and husband are fed, clothes, provided for, loved and sometimes spoiled then it's all good! You need to be spoiled sometimes too :)
(And thanks a lot, now that you've made me remember how long it's been since I went shopping I feel like I have to go NOW lol!)

Haha woohoo :) If you give me all your shoes, i'll give you all my pre-baby clothes??? Shoes are the only thing in my wardrobe that still fit lol!!

Is it worth buying your child designer clothes? I’m middle class and don't buy much designer anything for myself but feel like my baby should be wearing the most fashionable clothes. Is this just a mom thing?

Hell no!! Spoiling your kids is a surefire way to make them demanding, ungrateful and entitled. It seems more like a delusional thing that you’ve picked up from Instagram or some celebrity hero worship. Not everyone has the same life and the same means.Hell, even people WITH lots of money put their kids in practical clothes. I read somewhere that Cardi B’s ridiculously monikered baby girl, for whom she is already amassing a collection of designer clothes and who is pushed around in a gilded, winged chariot is currently wearing target onesies because babies puke and poop on everything. You just give your kids what you can and do nice things for yourself in so far as you can.

Are parents willing to use secondhand clothes and accessories for their children?

Yes, of course. I've always made use of good condition second hand items for my son.The only exception is shoes. We've always bought him brand new, properly-fitted shoes to promote good foot development.Edit: No, shoes aren't the only exception. Amanda Mills mentioned car seats, which is a very good point. NEVER buy a used car seat unless you would stake your child's life on your belief that the previous owner is telling you the truth about the age and life experience of the seat. A single accident can compromise the integrity of the car seat and make it unsafe. Also, I wouldn't use second-hand stuff that was likely to be unsanitary. Second hand bottles, for instance - yuck! Second hand changing mats - no thank you.
