Have You Ever Noticed The Works News Never Changes

Girls, if you ever changed your mind about a guy you thought you'd never want, what made you change your mind?

Hmm, I haven't 'changed my mind', but my friend used to fancy this guy and she was always talking about him but I never thought I'd like him or obsess over him or anything.

And now we're going out =)

One weekend he was just so sweet and funny and polite out of nowhere and he kept it up and it was just like "Woa, what a great guy."

And I just liked him more and more until he asked me out where I was at a point of "Omg ask me out!"

Amazing how the heart works, really. xx

Do teachers/professors actually notice making periods a size larger in papers? (to make papers longer)?

Works like a charm. Used it through college so far and never have been confronted for doing so. My friends have as well.

What has been the biggest change in your life?

It was 26th July 2009, a day before my 11th birthday, when my father broke the news that he got a promotion. Along with the happy news, came a sad part- transfer. He had been transferred to Delhi from Bhopal. And that has been the biggest change in my life so far. While in Bhopal, I used to attend an all-girls Convent School and had a big friend circle. I couldn't imagine my life without my friends back then. The fact that I would no longer be able to meet them everyday, made me sad. In 2010, I joined a co-ed school in Delhi. I had never talked to any guy before. It felt so weird to have boys around. And not to forget about the language! I was into a habit of adressing everyone as "aap" (not even "tum") and here they used "tu". It seemed so rude to me. Also, before coming to Delhi, I had never realised (or rather, felt bad) that I have a dark complexion. Never in my life had I been told that I look ugly just because of my complexion! But it was just a matter of time till all of that ended.Back in Bhopal, I had always had the same friends year after year. But here, it wasn't the same anymore. I had contrasting friend circles that changed every year. I met friends who liked me, friends who pretended to like me and friends I believe would stay in my life till the very end. Whatever it may have been, they've all taught me lessons because as they say- we all cross paths for a reason. To be honest, I don't wish to go back to Bhopal now. Initially, I did miss my old friends there but realised only later that none of them really cared. And now I'm so happy with the ones I've got :D It's been a long time since I came to Delhi and I no more feel bad about being dark-skinned or feel uncomfortable talking to boys. I've found some really great friends (Some of them are even on Quora; Raghav, Devanshi, Akshat, Harshit Hello :p ) who'd stay in my life always (hopefully). As a person, I've always feared change. But this change has been very positive and I'm glad that it happened. :')

I’ve been trying to change some aspects of my personality for about a year now, but I never seem to be able to focus on doing that for over a week. What are some ways I can keep myself focused on this?

It would help to know what aspects you are trying to change, but what first comes to mind is… could you be TOO focused on yourself? It’s possible. Have you ever heard the saying, ‘you can’t see the forest for the trees’? It only means, you are SO close to the issue, you can see leaves and bark and branches and roots, but not the overall vista of the forest, because you’re too close to the problem. Perhaps if you find somethings that are altruistic that you can do for other people, it will help give you some perspective from a different angle. It might shine a light on it, or it may resolve just by helping others. Best of luck to you.

Ever get a letter like this from your mother?

Dear Child,

I am writing this slow because I know that you can't read fast.

We don't live where we did when you left home.

Your dad read in the paper that most accidents happen within 20 miles from your home so we moved.

I won't be able to send you the address, as the last family that lived here took the house numbers when they left so that they wouldn't have to change their address.

This place is real nice. It even has a washing machine. I'm not sure if it works too well though.

Last week I put a load in, pulled the chain, and haven't seen them since.

The weather isn't too bad here., it only rained twice last week, The first time it rained for three days and the second time for four days. The coat you wanted me to send you, your Uncle Steve said it would be a little too heavy to send in the mail with the buttons on, so we cut them off and put them in the pockets. We got another bill from the funeral home.

They said if we don't make the last payment on Grandma's grave, up she comes. John locked his keys in the car yesterday. We were worried because it took him two hours to get me and Shelby out.

Your sister had a baby this morning but I haven't found out what it is yet, so I don't know if you're an aunt or an uncle. If the baby is a girl, your sister is going to name it after me, she's going to call it Mom.

Uncle Pete fell in a whiskey vat last week. Some man tried to pull him out but he fought them off and drowned. We had him cremated and he burned for three days.

Three of your friends went off a bridge in a pick-up truck. Ralph was driving. He rolled down the window and swam to safety. Your two friends were in the back. They drowned because they couldn't get the tailgate down.

There isn't much more news at this time. Nothing much has happened.

PS, I was going to send you some money but the envelope was already sealed.
