Have You Ever Tried Getting As Many Viruses As You Could

My computer is infected with Viruses?

You have a malware infection, you do NOT have that many viruses....it's a ploy to get you to buy rogue software which will create more problems.
AntiVirus programs will NOT remove these as they are malicious codecs and NOT viruses as such.
Remove with the following free programs which have been used in hundreds of removals, frequently the first 3 will remove the problem, download, install, update and boot into Safe Mode then scan:

Malwarebytes Anti-Malware:
http://www.download.com/Malwarebytes-Ant...
Download, install, update and select Full Scan.
Remove all infections that it finds after scan.

SUPERAntiSpyware Free Edition:
http://www.download.com/SUPERAntiSpyware...
Download, install, check for updates, then select Scan your Computer, select your drive and select Perform Complete Scan

Spybot S&D:
http://www.safer-networking.org/en/downl...
Download, install, update and Immunize, turn off Tea Timer then click 'Check for problems' then when complete select all and then 'Fix Checked'
Open Spybot, click on Mode, select Advanced, click on Tools then Resident and untick Resident 'Tea Timer'
Do NOT untick Resident 'SD Helper' as that is your protection.

Spyware Doctor Free Basic Edition - Realtime monitoring:
http://pack.google.com/intl/en/pack_installer_new.html?hl=en&gl=us&ciNum=12
Its free with Google pack, untick all boxes except Spyware Doctor. Download install, update and run.

SmitFraud Removal:
Firstly, download the removal tool from here:
http://siri.geekstogo.com/SmitfraudFix.php
Then follow the instructions on the page

ONLY IF the problem persists, turn OFF System Restore, Right click My computer > select Properties > System Restore Tab > Tick Turn Off System restore on all drives.

After scans are complete and machine is clean remember to turn system restore back ON and create a new restore point.

Do antivirus lie about how many viruses you have?

A lot of the websites that you will see that offer "Free virus scans" when you go on to them are definitely lying, they are just trying to get you to download their product. There isn't any way that they could possibly scan the files on your computer when you have just visited the website, and it would also take much longer than they show.

My suggestion is to get a reputable anti virus software that you can buy in a computer store, that way you can be sure you're not getting ripped off.

Have you ever tried Malwarebytes? Is it worth getting?

I've used MalwareBytes more or less for about 6–7 years now. (This is in terms and reference to their free version. I have not tested their security suite)I absolutely love it, for what it is. I have said this before, I'll probably say it again. MalwareBytes is a great Anti-Malware resource. It does exactly what it's intended in that aspect. Coupled with a standalone antivirus or security suite (such as AVG or Kaspersky) it makes for a well rounded protection plan. I have had scripts of my own doing (annoyingly so) slip past my security programs, yet get flagged and quarentined by MalwareBytes. For the average consumer, it's more than you'll ever need. Why spend hundreds on some premeire security suite, when you'll never need it. Unless you're a high level executive, diplomat, or deal with sensitive information, it'll do you just fine coupled with a dedicated anti-virus.

Can visiting RedTube give you viruses?

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I recall Redtube being a popular porn site.If that's true, I can't comment on how side the site is myself as I don't use it. But I've heard it's pretty safe.Usually the general rules of watching porn safely is to do the following.Use HTTPS so no one can see you're watching porn.Use incognito so it is not stored in any history.(Optional) Use a VPN so the site doesn't know who you are, paid ones are a lot better. If you can, run your browser in a sandbox incase a virus does get through. I use Sandboxie to isolate applications.Only use mainstream porn sites such as PornHub and XVideos. (I guess RedTube fits in this category too)DO NOT CLICK ANY ADS OR LINKS! This is usually the only dangerous part of porn sites. The site itself doesn't usually spread malware, but any ads or links on it will.DO NOT DOWNLOAD ANYTHING! Like the point before, watching the videos themselves are usually harmless, problems arise when you download them.If possible, use an ad and/or script blocker. This will prevent malware and tracking in the long run.Hope my porn-safety guide helps!

Do macs get viruses?

While it's possible in theory, in reality they don't because it is very difficult to break through Mac security. There are no known viruses that affect Mac OS X. Zero. Many have tried. All have failed. Anyone who thinks I'm wrong is welcome to post documentation of at least one verified Mac virus. No computer security company has documented one to date.

The computer security companies (Symantec, McAfee, etc.) have been trying to come up with proof of concepts to show that Macs need their software too, but despite their expertise and resources, the best they've been able to come up with is a couple of trojans (a step below a virus) that couldn't manage to propagate beyond a local network. One group of researchers even got so desperate that they faked an exploit on a Macbook. See the link below.

Others are so desperate to claim the Mac just doesn't get attention that they disprove their own theory with the attention they pay to it. See the post by 'slander' above.

Edit: Chad, Mac users shouldn't be protecting PC users by wasting our processing cycles scanning for their viruses. If you want to help a PC user, get them to switch to the Mac.

What do i do if i have 179 virusies in my computer

I want to suggest to all the closet pervs out there that porn sites are not the only places you can get a virus. That being said, I also warn against clicking on all the popups you will get telling you to try their own brand of virus and registry cleaners. The trick here is for you to invite the virus into your computer. Most of them leave something behind, then you have to buy their 'cleaner' to get rid of it. It will cost you a ton of money and wreck your computer. It's a scam to get you to buy something you don't need.

I recommend Windows Live Onecare. It is the BEST of all the security systems out there. For an annual fee of about 50 bucks it will cover your a$$ very well. If you go to the site you can also get a free 90 day trial. It will clean up the mess, and protect you. If it doesn't clean up your unit, try a system restore, going back to before you picked up the bug. If that doesn't work, do a system recovery. I had to run the recovery three times to get the virus all the way out of my system. I also suggect you get the windows liveonecare and good luck.

This Virus is raping me?

So i downloaded a virus apparently...and its a bad one.
I need suggestions, this is what ive done and what is wrong:

Here's what ive done so far:
-AVG free scan (caught a bunch of stuff but didn't help the issues)
-spybot
-adaware
-disc cleanup

Whats wrong:
-when i press "control alt delete" it says my administrator has disabled this function
-when i click on the start button i only can see what ive recently used....control pannel, accessories, system restore are all gone
-desktop background is white and i cant drag + highlight multiple files.
WORST PART: there are 8 continues pop-ups, all of them say something along the lines of " Windows has find a virus.....download this". (its trying to get you to download more and more viruses).
-it also has a bunch of quicklaunch buttons that keep reappearing on my desktop such as zoo porn (lol..this guys got a sick sense of humor i guess).

Anyways, its crazy madness and i cant figure out a way around...no system restore, im scooped.

ANY IDEAS? (i don't want to wipe heh)

Has anyone ever got a virus from mangafox?

hey Amber!

That sucks...

I don't know if it has a virus ( usually just use onemanga), but this is my suggestion to you:

(you might have to uninstall your current anti-virus for a little bit) go to http://usa.kaspersky.com/downloads/free-... and try the free scanner...if it picks anything up, download the trial version of their home user thing http://usa.kaspersky.com/trials/home-use... . It's probably the best anti-virus I've ever tried, but it's really expensive so try the trial, and if you think it works good (well, better than your current) try to find someone that can use your old one if you paid for it and give/sell it to them. You can then either (a) do the expensive thing and buy it, or (b) use this site: http://www.coverdisc.co.uk/cs249/kis/ind... , and this site explains it better: http://www.mydigitallife.info/2008/10/26/free-100-day-kaspersky-internet-security-2009-kis09-license-key-activation-code/ . Hopefully this fixes your problem.

ALSO try this...

If you are using Internet Explorer, go to http://www.mozilla.org/ and download firefox. Import your favorites (really easy), and then google search "firefox addons ad block plus." That basically let's you block whatever you want on any page, and it automatically blocks adverts/banners, etc. This is a BIG one Amber! Internet Explorer is actually a really horrible browser. Plus with firefox you can change the skin and add so many addons you won't know what to do with yourself :D

Hopefully all this stuff works...it's actually not that much, but it took a loooong time to type b/c my sister keeps telling me facebook bumper stickers...

[edit] thanks! lol
