Have You Ever Witnessed That Truth Can Be Stranger Then Fiction

Why is truth often stranger than fiction?

I love this question and thank you for asking. I hope a lot of answerers weigh-in with their opinions or experiences. I believe truth is often stranger than fiction. I have seen it impact others and myself. So it plays out in the lives of so many different backgrounds.

Before I realized this, sometime ago, I used to be fascinated in other peoples stories. Mostly because, when I was young I thought my life was very predictable.

But one day, then the next with in one year, we lost three individuals of two generations in my family. Things changed. I didn't know then that that was the beginning of strange life lessons and that all sorts of things happen to us.

It doesn't matter if someone believes you or not. That's when you can consider it your personal observation of life.

Sometimes people don't appreciate your insights and also they don't value the day to day meanings or ironies in life. Sometimes they follow what they are told are the realities of life. They don't KNOW things for themselves or what is true and don't think much about the things that happen in their own lives.

Allow them their ways.

Is truth stranger than fiction?

Sherlock Holmes surely seemed to think so.Life is infinitely stranger than anything which the mind of man could invent. We would not dare to conceive the things which are really mere commonplaces of existence. If we could fly out of that window hand in hand, hover over this great city, gently remove the roofs, and and peep in at the queer things which are going on, the strange coincidences, the plannings, the cross-purposes, the wonderful chains of events, working through generations, and leading to the most outre results, it would make all fiction with its conventionalities and foreseen conclusions most stale and unprofitable.Fiction is limited by the imagination of the storyteller. Truth is limitless and most importantly: it can be as random and meaningless as it wants. It can also be unbelievably serendipitous. Yes, truth is stranger than fiction.

They say, truth is stranger than fiction. Why?

They say, truth is stranger than fiction. Why?Fiction has to be based on something that’s already happened. No matter how “original” your idea is, it is still based on something you’ve experienced. There is a precedent for it.Truth is also based on reality, sure, but reality has no precedent. It makes things up as it pleases.

Theme for Stranger Than Fiction?

I know this is bloody obvious, but perhaps: Life Is Stranger Than Fiction?
I haven't seen the film for years.

What is the moral of Will Ferrell's movie, Stranger Than Fiction?

I saw the movie, Stranger than Fiction (2006) starring Will Ferrell and I loved that movie a lot. I want to know what the moral/message of the movie is. Is it, "What is written in a book, happens in real life?" Or is it, as Mark Twain said, "Truth is stranger than fiction". Or maybe is it, "Never be afraid to try new things" because in the movie, Harold Crick is an IRS agent that lives a dull life and is dominated by his wristwatch. Can anyone tell me the moral of Stranger Than Fiction?

What stories corroborate the statement truth is stranger than fiction?

In 1994 Tony Cicoria, a renowned orthopedic surgeon, was struck by a lighting while he was near a public telephone where he had just made a phone call. He recalled seeing a flash of light coming out of the pay phone and his own dead body on the ground surrounded by a bluish-white light. Apparently Cicoria suffered a cardiac arrest, but was resuscitated by a bystander woman who practiced CPR on him.Although he sustained no lasting injuries, Cicoria was left with an obsession: a burning passion for listening to and playing classical piano music. This was completely out of keeping with anything in his past. As a boy he had had a few piano lessons, but he never had a real interest. He did not have a piano and tended to listen just to rock and roll music. With this unexpected interest for piano music, he began to buy recordings of classical music, in particular Chopin compositions. Also, he got a piano and started to teach himself to play. Then, almost all of a sudden, Cicoria started to hear a melody in his head. Now he had to struggle not just with learning to play Chopin compositions but with capturing the music in his head, trying it out on the piano, getting it down on manuscript paper. Within three months of being struck by lightning Cicoria spent nearly all his time playing and composing. When he realized these songs were of his own creation, he began furiously writing them down until he had dozens composed. In 2008, Cicoria released a CD of his music called “Notes From An Accidental Pianist and Composer.” His best-known song from the album is appropriately titled “The Lightning Sonata.”Cicoria continued to work full time as a surgeon, but with his heart and mind now focused on music.Dedicated to my son Maurizio

Is truth stranger than fiction? There is or used to be a bowling alley in Fruitland, Idaho called "The Gayway?

It was given that name because of geographical considerations. It was near a place called the Gayway Junction. At the time (1978) the term 'gay' meant little. They may have changed the name since there. There used to be a clothing store where I grew up called the 'Gay Blade" When I was in college the name was changed to 'The Blade."

What is the meaning behind "Stranger than fiction"?

"Truth is stranger than fiction"

It basically means real world is stranger than fiction. Fiction is made up stories and all imaginations and crap (novels, story books, comics and so forth, movies). And truth is infact sometimes out of this world, so strange that it is even stranger than fiction. Just like nobody knows how and when this world began, we can only guess and estimate, how strange is that.
