I was standing behind someone at the Tesco Customer Services desk who was returning nearly £800 of tinned food she had bought to stockpile because of Brexit. Do you know anyone who has also stockpiled and is it something everyone in the UK should do?

No, because Brexit (a no-deal Brexit) will do the country nothing but good economically. We may be short of some fresh food for a little while if the EU is stupid enough to block exports to the UK, but since it needs our market more than we do the EU’s (the EU sells more to us than we do to it) then I doubt such a block will last long.Some foods may cost more for a short while, but we are forging trading partnerships with the rest of the world, and there will be more if there is a no deal Brexit (which is, after all, what we voted for) to come. To be able to buy from anywhere in the world again is truly wonderful. We will not have to be confined to European produce, and that has to be good for Britain. I think the EU has been playing so rough for just this reason - it doesn’t want to lose our market.I may be wrong. But if I am, I am not by any means alone. The 17.4 million who voted for a no-deal Brexit (because that was what the referendum was about - no mention of negotiation, deals, delays or anything else to block our going) may be wrong too. Strange, isn’t it, how the map of who voted Leave looks. Apart from Scotland, and a corner of South Wales, and the cities, the rest of the country voted ‘leave’. And guess where we grow our food? Yep, not in the cities or in a corner of South Wales, or even, apart from raspberries, Aberdeen Angus beef, some potatoes, and whiskey, in Scotland.The UK is set to become even more prosperous when we leave.
