Havent Been Able To Eat In 3 Days

I've been sick and haven't eaten in 3 days. What should I do?

I'd start with something mild, like chicken soup. Try some pop watered down, like ginger ale or 7-up. You may feel nauseous because your blood sugar is so low. When you start to get your blood sugar normalized with some pop then you will begin to be able to keep other food down too.

This has worked for myself and many people I've advised. Like I said, a little soda pop, watered down...start slow and you will feel better soon.

I haven't been able to sleep or eat in days?

Stress could be causing it, but you have to ask yourself how much stress are you going through now and how are you handling it. I would see a doctor if the problem persists, but if it isnt causing any physical symptom or pain, i wouldnt stress too much over it, but still, see your physician as soon as you can.
Ive noticed with myself i tend to get insomnia pretty bad in the summer...i think it may be normal.
Hope it helps and try googling it, but becareful how you digest the info you read.

My spacers hurt so bad, I haven't been able to eat for 3 days, and my whole face is swollen. Help?

I got my spacers in last Thursday (March 21st) and since then the pain has been so bad that I haven't been able to eat AT ALL. Not even super soft foods. My jaw feels stuck... very hard to open or close. And this morning I woke up to a lovely sight of swollen gums, lips and cheeks. This feels horrible. I've tried everything to get some relief, but nothing helps. And feeling like my stomach is eating itself is making things worse. I'm all out of ideas for relief.... so anything would be very helpful and very appreciated. Thanks.

I haven't eaten in 5 days..?

You're fasting... be sure to drink tons of fluids. This can be healthy if done right. Choose green tea, water and perhaps a light soup. It'd be best to know why you haven't eaten in 5 days, but sometimes it's fun to drop hella crazy weight just do it. You won't be able to eat a sandwich... your stomach has shrunk already a little. Fasting is one of the best ways to slow down the aging process since the more you, the more free radicals are released trying to break down all the food. Also unless you eat healthy avoiding processed foods, toxins and additives will shorten your lifespan.

If you don't eat and work out... you will most likely get dizzy, trip out a lil, develop confusion, get sick and eventually pass out. It will take one day to slowly build back up to eating a little... a few small meals focusing on protein and fruits and vegetables on the lower end of the glycemic index. Oh yeah, fat free yogurt(reduced carbs, added protein, and even added fiber) if you can find it. Yogurt is a super food...

But this starvation period will be all for not, if you're smoking, drinking booze and not sleeping. This is a time you should be cleansing your body of poisons and free radicals. You should be peeing like crazy and drinking tons of water. But you're at the 5 day point... and unless you wanna get sick and lose muscle while your body retains the fat you eat. So snack a few strawberries, maybe a few bites of yogurt, drink more water, and eat part of a protein bar or something. You'll wake up feeling great. Have some healthy carbs in the morning, aim for lean protein and lots of healthy fluids(none of the crap with sugar, citric acid, preservatives, etc.)

What will happen if you haven't eaten for 2 days and then you eat a lot in a short amount of time?

Two days? Ha… People stop eating for multiple reasons… I once didn’t eat for three straight days. It was a few days after my birthday and a month before my wedding, and my fiance came to me with some interesting news… she had been cheating on me since day one of our three year relationship and she wasn’t going to stop. Oh, but she still wanted to be with me. Naturally, I had no appetite. Three straight days I didn’t eat or drink anything. Anything. I didn’t even go to the bathroom. I couldn’t sleep either. Well… after three days passed, I still wasn’t hungry, but I knew I’d end up starving myself if I didn’t have something, so I started with a nibble of this or that. I wasn’t able to eat a lot, particularly not in a short amount of time. I lost about 10–15 pounds because of the whole not eating thing, but I gained it back. I didn’t gain it back because I overate, though. I got it back because I slowly went back to my regular eating habits. So… three days without eating and I wasn’t able to eat a bunch of food. I just didn’t have an appetite.

I’m starving, but I haven’t been able to eat or drink the past four days without getting sick. What should I do? I feel weak, and not like myself.

Yeah, like the others have said, get to the ER, A&E, urgent care, whatever you have close to you. You really shouldn’t wait any longer. You’re probably dehydrated, vomiting does that. Are you able to hold down liquids? Try having some broth if you can.I still say go to the hospital. There could be a serious underlying cause that you’re ignoring. Trust me. I’ve been in your shoes and was admitted to the hospital. 10 days it took them to figure out what was wrong. I think the last day there was when it hit me how serious the whole thing was. Please, look after yourself. The staff at a hospital will always help you, even if it’s putting in an iv (and filling you with constant fluids) and letting you sit for five hours while they tend to the more serious patients. Don’t leave. Let them see you.Take a few books, and a plastic bag.Hope you get feeling better soon.

What happens if you don't eat and drink for 2-3 days?

No water over 3 days would be more hurtful than missing food. What would happen is your cells in your body would dry up. There would be no way to get the electrical signals from your brain to your body anymore and you'll eventually die after as soon as a week when your brain can't tell your lungs and heart to work anymore so they just stop. And no heart movement is when they consider you dead.

One the first day you'll just feel really thirsty. Then you might feel tired and sluggish and weak and slow. You'll feel like you're brain isn't working anymore and might even go really crazy because of it by day 2-3. If we keep going you're skin is all cracked and bleeding because it was so dry. You probably haven't been able to walk in a few days now. You'll have labored breathing by day 5.

Now someone finds you and takes you to a hospital; The first thing they would do is put a needle in your arm to get water into your blood. But not water like from the sink. It's called saline solution and it's basically salt water like from the sea. The salt gives it an electrical charge so that when they put it in you're body you get all that electricity back to make your cells work again. Other drugs would be given to you to stop vomiting and stop pain and increase nutrient intake. You'd get a tube down your throat to feed you baby food. And that would be your life for 2 weeks or more if you decide not to drink for a week. If you only do 3 days, especially being so young I would really worry that you'd be risking permanent neurological changes. You'd basically make yourself retarded in a way.

I haven't been able to finish my meals lately. Why?

This might be going overboard , but - American Diabetes Association researchers warn that premature fullness could also signal a condition called "diabetic gastroparesis."

Simply put, gastroparesis is slowed emptying of the stomach caused by nerve damage in the stomach lining. In some case, gastroparesis can affect blood sugar levels adversely and may require insulin therapy. Foods that are especially high in fat are known to aggravate the condition. Consult your doctor if you frequently experience premature fullness at mealtime.
