Having Really Vivid Dreams

I've been having really vivid dreams lately.?

First of all, whenever I tell them to my mom she thinks I'm making them up. She says they're too realistic. But uh, I'll describe about 3 of the most memorable ones recently.

1. I had a geometry test one day at school, and I was terrified to take it so I snuck into the bathroom and hid there for the entire class period. No one found me, or so I thought, although a teacher walked by at one point. When I was leaving school that day, my mom drove me to the church because we were going to mass for some reason? And then I got a random text from the principal and dean of the school saying "We know you brought the crack, Natalia. You can't hide the drugs from us." I was like "uh what I've never done drugs before" and I actually haven't done drugs ever so

2. they were doing some movie on my school for some reason idky and they picked this Korean pop idol who I have a crush on to play the super cool teacher, and that was nice. I kissed him or something idk but we were romantically involved in the dream so that was nice too. That was it.

3. This one was last night. Me and a few friends were going to NY for a concert. My flight got there first, so I was like "Hey, I'll just walk around the city for the meanwhile." So I was walking alone and all, and later on I met up with my sister and another friend. It looked like we were walking through Chinatown and he sky got dark quickly. All of the sudden it turned into Horror Nights: there were a bunch of people dressed as zombies and creepy monsters on bikes and stuff, just chasing me around. Me and the other two somehow got separated, so of course I took action and started running around in the direction they disappeared to, but then I got a phone call. It was some lady on the line, and she said "I have your sister. If you don't come find her within 30 minutes, the entire city is going to blow up." That was when I woke up.

The third one freaks me out the most, because I went to Horror Nights last year with a friend and my sister, and I was the one who was panicking and got lost by myself. If it means anything, I'm a 16 year-old girl. I'm a good student, never done drugs, and so on. I get that dreams are...unexplainable, but can someone try to an extent? It's kind of stressful.

What should I do if I’m having really vivid dreams and waking up tired?

I’m pretty sure that you’re tired because your unconscious is wearing you out—trying to wear you down. That large, deep part of you wants something from you badly. It is worried or upset and wants you to understand and acknowledge its fears/worries and maybe even make changes so you don’t head in your present direction. And it won’t let up until you do understand what it wants. So the first step to getting a restful night’s sleep is to listen and understand what your dreams are telling you. Put a pen/pencil and paper next to your bed before you sleep. When you wake up from an exhausting night, take 5 minutes to write down every strong image or action you remember. Look those up in a free online dream dictionary. Acknowledgement—attempt at understanding—might be all that your unconscious needs.I can’t say for sure, because i don’t remember this ever happening to me. I’ve always tried to interpret my dreams. I don’t ignore them or try to deny my unconscious’ need to speak to me, so it doesn’t have to get tough with me and keep me restless all night.Don’t get upset at your dreams—and don’t ignore them. Try to figure out what the large unconscious part of you wants. Most dreams fade once you get the message. And then maybe you’ll get a restful night’s sleep.

I've been having very vivid dreams lately..?

My most recent dream went like this..
I was walking down a seemingly busy cobblestone street when I happened upon a table where a few young lady's like myself were seated and talking among st themselves. I kept going. I somehow heard some news that this guy that I had been talking to/flirting with had been hit by a car. So, I stopped at the girl's table and told them. At first, I didn't want to go to the hospital but, they convinced me to. I found myself at an airport where I learned that he was airlifted to Europe.. Paris to be exact (I had just recently been there). So, I asked my mom if I could go and she just wouldn't let me! Then, we went to this grocery store looking for some weird food that I had learned about while I was in Greece. With help from the employee we found it. Then I awoke!

The fact that this dream was so vivid is what gets me!

I have been having weird vivid dreams lately?

It could be your diet, things happening in your life, maybe your brain is working harder and faster than it has in the past.

I remember the strangest thing I have ever had happen to me involved some Rosemary tea or something. I was purposely trying to induce dreaming, and I couldn't believe what it led to.

In the dream, every day felt like a real 24 hour day. It was almost like I was living in a storybook or something. When I woke up, I couldn't hardly remember what happened the days before. I believe it was a combination of all those things I mentioned.

What does it mean that I am suddenly having very vivid dreams?

Have your sleeping habits changed? You have a complete sleep cycle every 90 minutes or so, including REM (which is the dream state), so if you are waking up at the beginning or end of a sleep cycle you’re going to remember your dreams better because they’re closer to your conscious mind.A brief explanation:When a sleep cycle begins the brain drifts first through the lighter sleep patterns where REM is possible, then into the deeper delta brain wave patterns where you are in a deep sleep, and then back up through REM and ultimately a state of almost-awake (many people, like myself, do wake up briefly at that point and then fall back asleep).Deep sleep can last longer than REM so your chances of waking up at that point in the sleep cycle are greater. If you don’t remember your dreams chances are you’re waking up outside of REM.So if your sleep habits have changed, or your diet/lifestyle changed (which affects your sleep habits), then perhaps you’re simply in a better sleep rhythm and waking up on the tail end of REM as your body naturally wants to do.

I keep having vivid dreams about sex. What does this mean?

You may want to repost this question in the sexuality section. You said 'vivid dreams', which are episodes clearly detailed, real to life and remembered. Is it then correct to assume these dreams are daytime fanasties of sexual exploits? Rather than what might normally occur during your sleep cycle overnight. If it is for sure in your night time slumber, your dreams may reflect a desire in your subconscious. If it is the daydreaming this obviously meaning you are inclined to have relations with someone. Since you also stated your tryists were short-term, unfulfilled. It isn't a guess these dreams illustrate sexual conquest or fulfillment.“A Hidden Public Health Hazard”My understanding the previous commenter gave you the green flag, for you not be ashamed of having your desires satisfied. Many in today's world are endorsing this fornicating freedom outside the martial arrangement. I am not in the right to advise you to abstain from having sexual relations out of wedlock. There are valid concerns to weigh out, including the consequences.People entretaining a warped view of sexuality may harm and cheapen their self-worth. Especally if they fornicate with persons who care nothing more than having a self-gratifying session at the cost of their partner. In marriage both individuals have a legal commitment to honorably consider and care for one another.Their intimate relations may help strengthen their marriage, enhance their true love and loyality to each other. As a young man you may wish to solidify your integrity, not break it down for the sake of pleasure. It is your choice how you wish to respond to these vivid dreams. Although you have the freedom to entertain such thoughts. You also have the privilege to reason and ponder the results in the long run.Supply to Your Knowledge Self-Control

Citalopram and really vivid dreams ??

I've been on citalopram 10mg for nearly a week now and have been having REALLY vivid dreams since starting the meds.... at times i confuse dreams with reality (e.g- i dreamt a shop in my town had been shut down and when i walked past it and found it hadn't been, i was really genuinly shocked!)

The dreams are never scary, generally just about everyday stuff.... sometimes i find it quite enjoyable as i remember the dreams from the night before through out the day!

I know dreams can be affected by citalopram but has anyone had as vivid dreams as this where they confuse dreams with reality, or will they wear off as my brain gets used to the meds?

7dpo...are vivid dreams really a symptom?

for the past few days i have been having the craziest dreams. i dreamed that obama was married to a lady at my church and that mccain made his living off of a drive through window and i had to help his wife make kool aid for it. i've been really shaky the past two days, like my handwriting and typing is affected by it. i've done backspaced so many times it ain't even funny. i have a sore throat and my nose is stuffy. i've been having cramps (dull, numb, mild, occasional sharp twinge) in my uterus since i ovulated. yeah, me and hubby got busy on ovualtion day. i've felt nauseated at a few things. especially after the election results last night, but i was also eating taco dip with doritios and the nausea stuck until i went to sleep. i really hope i am preggers and that my mind isn't playing a cruel joke on me. i prayed that God would let me be preggers this month, but also for His will to be done, cause I know it is all in His time. but the tww is tourture!!!

(sorry if you supported obama. i have no intentions of offending anyone. i just preferred mccain.)

Extremely vivid dreams?

Your brain is very much a holographic computer and you can program this biological computer to perform certain functions. This is how you master Out Of Body lucid dreaming. An out of body lucid dream is when you feel as though you're actually PHYSICALLY THERE IN YOUR DREAM. When you lie down to go to sleep, close your eyes and try to imagine a nice place where you'd really like to be. Try to imagine that you're really there PHYSICALLY. Now while you're imagining all of this, repeat 100 times an affirmation like, "I NOW HAVE A FULLY CONSCIOUS OUT OF BODY LUCID DREAM." Make sure that you do this mental exercise every single time you lie down to go to sleep, seven days a week. Make sure that you don't think about anything except the affirmation and what you're visualizing before you fall asleep and that its the last thing on your mind before you fall asleep, otherwise IT WON'T WORK. You can in fact have lucid dreams in which case you feel certain that you're actually physically there. I promise you that it will feel so real to you and that you will have so much control over your dream, that it will frighten you with excitement. You'll wake up the next day feeling very THRILLED at what you've accomplished. You can learn to do all kinds of far out things in your lucid dreams. You can gain more control over the cells and organs in your body and totally heal yourself. You can learn to freeze time in your lucid dreams and stay inside your dream for very long periods of time. To give you an idea of how REAL kind of dream is, then let me ask you a question. How do you know that you're not really sound asleep right now at this very moment? Are you really sitting in front of your computer reading all of this data? How do you know that you're not really dreaming all of this? This is how real OOBLD (Out Of Body Lucid Dreaming) really is. Its very important that you NEVER smoke marijuana or drink alcoholic beverages when doing this mental exercise. This also includes mind altering pharmaceutical drugs. Stay away from all of these things or you will FAIL. Make sure that you remember not to think of anything else while doing this mental exercise before you fall asleep or you will FAIL. Soon, I myself will be a master Lucid Dreamer. You can use lucid dreaming to entrain yourself to learn other things. You can enhance your intelligence through lucid dreaming. I hope this info that I've given you will help you, take care!

What does it mean if I suddenly start having vivid dreams? More often than not, I don't remember having dreamed at all, so this is a bit unusual for me.

Most people dream every night, regardless of whether or not they remember their dreams. However, there are a variety of explanations to why you are suddenly dreaming so vividly: Waking up during certain periods of REM sleep causes you to remember your dreams more than sleeping through the end of your sleep cycle. Perhaps you've changed your sleeping patterns- staying up later, waking up earlier, etc.Making a conscious effort to remember your dreams actually helps you to remember your dreams. Have you been thinking about your dreams or even writing them down? (Keeping a "dream journal" is really effective.) It's possible that you've recently been exposed to stimuli involving dreams- an article about lucid dreaming, a PBS documentary about dreams, an excerpt from Freud's Interpretation of Dreams, etc. Maybe you watched Inception recently, so dreams now have more significance for you. Thus, you remember them more vividly. Try analyzing the content of your dreams. The more your conscious or subconscious mind thinks about something, the more likely you are to dream about it; the more significant the content of your dream, the less likely you are to forget it.  Occasionally people are only able to recall forgotten dreams when things in real life jog their memories. You may not remember dreaming about your aunt Sally until you get a surprise visit from her at school. Sleeping under bright lights also causes dreams to be more vivid.Hope this helps.
