Headache . What To Do.

Bored, headache, what to do...?

I've been up since 4:00 (not just because it's Christmas... I can't sleep sometimes) and my head is pounding, my family is watching 'A Christmas Story' in the other room and refuses to do anything else... (how they can stand watching it again, after having seen it enough times to be able to recite all of the lines, I have no idea...) oh yeah, and my brothers on the computer, which most of my presents require in order to use them, so that's out. i did get a few books, and I tried reading, but I couldn't concentrate past the first 30 pages. I have my iPod, but I'm on that so much surfing the web and playing games, I think I'm going to go insane. already did my whole 8-page history study guide (-_-) ... seriously.... I feel miserable just sitting here wondering what to do... any suggestions? all I can think of is walking the dog, but she's pretty exhausted from playing all morning...

Should I study if I have a headache?

No.You should not be studying while braving the headache.Reading and understanding the subject requires brain to work more vigorously.Your brain is already stressed with the ongoing headache. You should give it a rest. Not strain it further.Relax. If possible, take a nap (that’s the best thing to do).I have always observed that the sleep almost eliminates most hardest of the headaches. And mostly, one is going to wake up refreshed. (Except that there is always a feeling that you have faced something tonight.)Though, there is an exception :Examinations (or any other emergency where you are bound to study)In that case, I have taken relief in Pain Killers (Nise Tablet - Uses, Side-effects, Reviews, and Precautions - Dr Reddys Labs - TabletWise - India ).But, almost everyone (including doctors) warned against the use of Nise medicines. They mention that these pain killers have so bad side effects that these are completely banned in many countries. So, the other solution is to take too many breaks. Continuous study for long hours in the same posture is going to do you serious harm. Eye strains are the other side effects of long time continuous study.Anyways, its always best to take a break and sleep (try to, because its tough to sleep while having a headache) rather than further straining your eyes and brains while having a headache.Further, its extremely tough to grasp the concept of the subjects which you are studying while suffering with headache. While the same things can understood in a better manner without straining yourselves when you get free of the headache.

Throwing up from headache?

that is not just a head ach that sounds like a mygrain. i used to get them bad to and yes throwing up is normal but that sounds like a really strong mygrain. most pain killers do not help mygrains because a mygrain is caused by something totally different in the brain. what it is is that the nerves in your brain are being erritated and it is sending painfull shocks to your brain. in serious cases it can cause
-dizzynis
-blurry or ripply vision
-light or sound sensitivity
-nausia
-confusion

if it is keeping you up that is not good at all you need to see your doc right away and get a perscription for mygrin prevention or something of that sort. if it gets worse or does not go away you need to wake someone and go to the ER esspecially if you keep throwing up.

good luck and email me with any questions

oh yeah and one more thing. there is a spot right in between your thumb and pointer finger that is like a big tenden like a not. find it on either hand and squeez it as hard as you can. it will hurt but you will feel the head ach releaved in seconds. if someone else can do it for you it works better.

Life is giving me a headache, what to do?

1) Take some paracetamol. Or, or...

2) Go into the woods and take a massive cr@p.

4)Go to the swimming baths and take a wee in the deep end. Don't fall in though.

5)Have a relaxing bath--.. wait.

6) Swim in the sea.

7) Look for a mistake in this list of words. I missed out number three, go look for it.

8) There, you found it.

9) Go to a pub and have a few beers.

10) Go to the play park and swing on the swings. Take a sh!t of the jungle gym or find a burning house, put out the flames by pissing through the letter box.

11) Last but not least, have a bag of chips. If you do these things, your headache will surely go away.

Good luck!

Do something crazy.

If I don't drink coffee, I get a headache, what should I do?

Caffeine Withdrawal This is called caffeine withdrawal and it typically happens 12-24 hours after your last coffee, peaks at about 3 days, and can affect you for up to 9 days (Study). Why Caffeine constricts your blood vessels and when you become accustomed to this, withdrawal from caffeine is proven to increase cerebral blood flow (wider pipes in the brain) and trigger headaches (study)."What's happening on a molecular level in my head?"Science is not there yet. Increased blood flow may activate pain sensors in the meninges surrounding the brain. This is a common side effect in vasodilator (bigger veins) supplements such as Nitrous Oxide or medications like Viagra. Why this happens is still somewhat of a mystery. What happens when I drink coffee? Drinking coffee can release dopamine in the frontal lobe, increase energy metabolism (meaning you think faster), and temporarily block inflammation in the brain (study 1, 2).What might happen when I stop? We know for sure that we can build a tolerance to caffeine and blood flow increases from caffeine withdrawal. This most likely means that dopamine release will be low, brain metabolism will be low, and inflammation will be released because that's what happens when blood vessels widen. When we constrict blood vessels, various inflammatory sources that hurt the human body are blocked, but after the constriction goes away, they might come back in full force. Think of it as closing your house door with a few zombies outside, and then opening the door wide open when there are a lot of zombies outside.Other factorsSome studies have found that over consuming caffeine will increase cortisol and stress throughout the day. One study found that one coffee per day can double your risk of withdrawal headaches, but others have found that coffee may decrease headache risk. You will find a positive study for every negative study on caffeine and the research is divided. What to do Small amounts of caffeine have successfully prevented rebound headaches and this will help you slowly taper off caffeine (i.e. full cup, 3/4, 1/2, 1/4, etc...). After 3 days, it becomes much easier to withdrawal from caffeine. You can also try green tea to taper off coffee.

What should I do if I can't sleep because of a headache?

Headaches usually take place when the brain is hyperactive, when the body is not getting enough oxygen, when there’s no sufficient food in your system or maybe because of excess use of electronics/technology. Whatever the reason may be, headaches are quite unpleasant. It is suggested to get out of the bed when you’re not able to fall asleep because of a headache. Try to turn off all electronics around you that you are using at the moment (if any), for example, your TV, phone, laptop/computer, iPad and such. If your room is too dim or too bright, your eyes can strain, which could be causing the headache, so be sure to stay in the right light. It is also suggested to drink a nice hot cup of tea. Especially Chamomile Tea. It has rich vitamins and anti-oxidants that will help relieve stress.Try to diffuse a pleasant aroma in your room or use a room freshener that makes you feel positive. Citrus flavors and musky flavors are most recommended. Pungent flavors will make the headache worse. Some people even try to watch the night sky lying down on a flat surface. It seems to calm down the brain activity and helps calming the nerves. You can also try applying some eucalyptus oil to your forehead and take long breaths. The oil has unique healing powers and the long breaths will help in smooth flow of blood and oxygen in your body.We hope this helps you. Thank you.

Fever, cough, and headache...what to do?

About half way through yesterday a developed a sore throat that became a dry cough as the day went on. Today I woke up with a headache and now I have a fever. Not sure if the headache is related to the cough and fever or not.

What is the quickest way to get rid of this? I must go to class tomorrow starting a 9 tomorrow. My day ends at 6pm. I really can't afford to miss them because then I would be playing catch up on a full schedule.

Not really sure how I got sick since I do not share drinks or food with others, and I was my hands constantly.

I bought some throat spray and I am trying to stay hydrated. Any suggestions?

Please don't say do to the doctor...I am not insured.

What to say when she says she has a headache?

damn u must have a line for everything lol. A simple "really? damn gurl" should suffice
