Headphone Plug Only Playing One Headphone

Music only plays through one headphone.?

this started happening about a week ago. at first i thought maybe my headphones were just about done because I've have them for about two years. Then I tried different headphones from around the house, and I could still only hear music in the right ear. If I move the headphones around a bit while the song is playing it'll get a little static and eventually play a little bit in both ears then about 5 seconds later it'll go back to just playing in one ear. I've only had my Ipod Touch for about two years. And personally,it kind of irritates me when I can only hear music from one ear.

so has this happened to anyone else before?

Zune is only playing from one ear?

Alright, time for some basic diagnostic.

Try another set of earphones with your Zune (or really anything with the same sort of 3.5mm headphone jack). Does the problem present with the new earphones? If so, it's probably the Zune itself - This is the most likely possibility.

If not, plug the headphones into another MP3 player. Does the problem happen with the new MP3 player? If so, then you need new headphones.

It sounds like you have a loose connection inside the Zune. When you exert pressure on the left side, it sounds like you disconnect the connections for the right side speaker/headphone. That, or the 3.5mm jack in your Zune is loose somehow.

Not knowing the Zune, I don't know whether or not it can be fixed. But if it's anything like my Sandisk Sansa, the headphone jack and surrounding connections is sealed in a rigid plastic sleeve, so you probably won't be able to fix it yourself. Zune/Microsoft repair centres might be able to fix it, but you might have to pay if the unit is outside of its Warranty or the damage isn't covered by said Warranty.

Contact Zune and just talk to a technician. You'll get a better idea of what can be done without having to pay a quote fee by sending it straight in.

Why do my headphones only work in one ear?

1
Open your personal media player's settings and check the "Balance" setting. This tells the device how much signal to send to each ear. Adjust the balance to the middle, and play audio. If this does not fix the problem, check the jack on the player. Press the headphone plug firmly into the jack, and lightly move it around with your thumb. If you hear crackling or the jack wobbles, the jack is probably damaged.

2
Test your headphones on another device with a headphone jack, such as a computer or another personal media player. If the problem remains, check the cups of the headphones for audio controls. Some headphones come with discrete audio controls for each ear: these can be accidentally turned down in the course of normal use. Check any other controls on the headphones. Controls on the cord may include separate volume controls for each channel.

3
Examine the cable of the headphones carefully. Look for cracks in the insulation, sharp kinks in the wire which will not unbend, or wire strands protruding from the insulation. Examine where the wire splits into two. Listen for any rattling inside the cups of the headphones. If there are no visible signs of damage, there is probably a short somewhere in the wire.

Microphone recordings only play in one side of my headphones?

you should try and talk in a bass like manner not just mono

How should I fix my headphones, that only play background sounds?

I had the same problem with my PHILIPS BASS+ earphones ,i found out that the jack was damaged and was subtracting left from right sounds of the earphones.I switched the sound settings from balanced to right/left and they are working fine now.

Why does only one earbud in a pair of headphones stop working?

Try using the earbuds on different devices, different music etc. It could be as simple as what you are listening to has been recorded in Mono (just the left ear bud will work), your device has has “mono” selected in the Stereo/Mono drop down selector.Alternatively it could be that you’ve been winding and storing those buds a pretty repetitious way and with only a small number of copper leads transmitting the signal metal fatigue will occur and the copper wire will break - if so bummer. Breakages can occur any time, at any point and that’s just another bummer. The diaphragm in the earbud is tiny and also easily broken - you guessed it - bummer. For most cheap - mid range earbuds, it’s just a case of getting a new set (after checking out paragraph 01.).Well, best of British to you.

Headphone Jack on Asus U47A not working with iPhone headphones or V-Moda M100s?

I just recently got a new computer the Asus U47A. I have had some trouble using my iPhone headphones with the one headphone jack on the left side of the computer. It only plays what seems to be very muted mids and highs and no bass at all. It plays the full spectrum of music if I hold down the middle button in between the volume toggles on the headphones it plays the music but I'm not sure why this is.

I also got a new pair of headphones the V-Moda M100s and I get the same problem except there is no center button to hold down so they really barely work at all on this new computer. It's really frustrating.

I have some Bose over the ear headphones and those work fine and don't have volume toggles on the headphone cord... I'm thinking this may be the problem, but I'm hoping someone may have heard of this problem before and has a solution.

Any suggestions to fix this? It didn't bother me as much with the iPhone headphones but now that I have $300 headphones I really want to use them with my computer and actually get them to work.

I'm getting volume in both ear cups just muted highs and mids and no bass at all...

Please help!

I have so many earphones with only one earphone working. How can I reuse/repair them?

Regarding this problem.I had similar problem. I bought this new headphone of JBL and within a week the left side stopped workingAnd it happened after my roommate plugged it in her mobile. So I packed it up and kept it asideOne day I tried playing and both side were working fineBut after a min it tripped againA friend told me once not to exchange earphones cause it damages the one sideAnd that fact is true… Maybe that's the case with JBL cause I used my sis earphone in my phone.. And after she plugged in hers.. The left side stopped workingToday I tried my headphone in my laptop.. Same case as beforeBut I thought of plugging it in Mike jack and to my surprise I heard some glitch in left side. After plugging it in headphone Jack.. Tada!!Both side were working and in mid it did tripI applied the same step.. Now it's working completely fineWhat did I learn?!Not to exchange your precious headphones with someone else!!Try this step maybe it will help ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Galaxy S3 headphone jack problem?

That's not the problem of your earphone jack, it;s the problem of your earphones. They are damaged. Try other earphones and i guarantee you that they will work properly with the both speakers.

Hope this helps :)
