Heavy Feeling On My Chest

I have a heavy feeling in my chest, help!?

lately I've been feeling like there is some kind of weight in my chest and it can sometimes get hard for me to breath almost as if i'm being choked or my throat is closing up. I asked my mom about this and she said it was all in my head. Why am I feeling like this, and how do I make it go away? Thanks.

p.s. I don't have any type of breathing problems that I know.

What might cause a heavy feeling in the chest? How should this be treated?

While it might not be a heart attack, it’s a classic symptom of a heart attack. If I were not at home and my husband called me to tell me that he had a heavy feeling in his chest, I would tell him to call 911. And then I would call 911, just to be sure that they had gotten the call (in case he had collapsed). I would give the 911 dispatcher really good directions to our home, along with my cell phone #, in case they needed to reach me, and only then would I start home. Here’s a link to a newsletter focused on heart attack symptoms:The Life You Save May Be Your OwnQuora is a fine place to seek advice about puzzling signs and symptoms, or intransigent medical problems. It’s not the right place to look for help in an urgent or emergent situation. At the very least, a heavy feeling in the chest calls for an immediate call to your doctor (assuming you have one). It’s a safe bet that your doctor will tell you to call 911.What happened after your Quora post, and how are you doing?

How do I get over this heaviness in the chest feeling?

Anxiety?  Are you using masks? Are you afraid she'll discover who you truly are? These could be some of the reasons why you would feel this way. Something is troubling you. That feeling is trying to tell you something is not quite right, because as you said, you feel it when you are next to her.  Try to find out what is it and do something about it.

Heavy feeling in chest when i wake up?

Cut down your weight first, not on that machine, walk one hour daily, and life style changes. You are grossly over weight better see your doctor as early as possible. Heart Rate was at dangerous level.

Heavy feeling in chest after taking pain killer?

I'm having a heavy feeling in my chest after taking a pain killer.
I was released from the ER at 6pm CMT, given pain medication and told to take it every 4 hours. I took it when I got home, and took it again at 11pm CMT, it is now 12am CMT and this is the first time i've felt this.

What could it be? Should I wake up my mom and be worried or could this just be normal?

I feel sad, and my chest feels all heavy?

I can really sympathize with you. I'm only fifteen, but people say I speak wise enough for situations like this. I also have personal experience with depression. Considering I'm not that strong, the only escape for me was to attempt suicide. But this is totally not the answer. Never is, never will be. Remember that. There are people in this world who would break if you left. It might not seem like it now, but its true. Trust me. I felt alone all through school so far, and sometimes still do. I was/am bullied as well. It hurts, and I had m own embarrasing experiences. Some of which I regret whole heartedly. Now, my solution might seem lame, but it helped me so much. My mother took me to church. I actually spent a couple hours just sitting there, just letting my soul bear itself and accept the pain. What I found was amazing. I found a calming state of peace. I was able to let it go, and accept that it happened. I still feel this way. What I have done has been done. I cannot undo it. And what has happened to me has happened. I cannot deny it. The only thing I can do is acknowledge that I will do my best to strive for better. From what I can see, you sound like a great guy! I hope I helped, but what reaches you is up to you. Best of luck!

Whats the heavy feeling inside your chest?

You have a pinched muscle or nerve in your back in your chest area. Pinched nerves in your back will transfer the pain forward to another part and can easily be missed. A pinched nerve is going to make it feel heavy in your chest because you have some restriction going on with your breathing. That wil all come back to normal and the pains will go once you release the muscles in your back. Here's how to release them:
Back:
Place your left hand on your left leg and try to keep it straight. Place your right hand over your left shoulder and with your fingertips find the muscle next to your spine. Press on it and hold. Relax, take a deep breath and exhale and don’t tense up any part of your body. After about 30 seconds there should be a release happening and when it does slowly lower yourself forward onto your right leg. If you can lean over the outside edge of your leg it will be better for your release. Continue holding for a total of one minute. Then release but rest your body there for one minute longer. Then reverse and do the right side.

I sometimes feel a heavy sinking feeling in my chest?

It's definitely not a physical feeling, but some random times, whether I'm alone or with other people, I get this sudden wave of nostalgia... It's not just, 'oh I remember the good ol' days' kind of nostalgia, but it's like this huge wave of a sort of sadness that overwhelms me for a few seconds and comes along with a deep sinking feeling in my heart (the type you feel when you know something bad is going to happen) before it fades after I forget about it. It's weird because I can't think of any particular things that might trigger any sadness in me in those moments; it's completely random. But whenever I get those "depression shocks" I just feel like SOMETHING is wrong and SOMETHING is not right in my life or the way I want it to be... But I've contemplated over it again and again and I can't think of anything really significant. It doesn't happen too frequently, but it's so severe when it does happen that I'm almost afraid of any moment when it comes around. Sometimes if I try too hard to think about it, I can that feeling to come.

Maybe it's not anything serious, but I just hope it's not some kind of mild clinical depression or something...
