Hello I Have A Spider Bite. I

How do I get rid of a spider bite?

i was bitten 15 years ago by a black spider from the banana tree in my yard in st martin french west indies i was bitten on the top of my rt foot at the junction where veins meet like a railroad station at first it was an itchy bump but over a week it turned into the most horrible black and blue weeping sore that i have ever seen. my husband had to carry me to the catholic hospital on a sunday afternoon my temp was 103 and my foot looked like a baloon the sister took a pair of forceps and ripped the scab off the sore and i nearly passed out but i remember seeing the river of pus red green and yellow draining from my foot. to this day i have the ugly scar there how do you think i found out what had bitten me well we had a pretty shower curtain in the bathroom it was turquoise with black flowers over it and there was the spider dead but adhered to the curtain like it was part of the pattern. my husband put it in a jar took it to the hospital and they prescribed me medication for two weeks that cured the infection but to this day my rt foot is fatter than my left and the scar from that spiders mouth is clearly there to see why dont you get a topical medicine like mederma or cortisone and rub it in every day also you may need another course of antibiotics like the one they used on my wound called cephachlor 500mgm one capsule two times a day for 14 days this medicine was from france so in america i would guess it was two antibiotics in one ie cephachlor or keflex and the other i am guessing would be chloromycetin 250mgm. i am certain a good infectious disease man would know the right med to give you because the infection is still there and will continue to resurface if you dont treat it agressively. what memories your question has revived i hope i have helped you in some way. also after this bite you are going to be allergic to other bites so you must carry an epi pen with you at all times please mention this to the doctor good night and take heed it is your life okay so protect yourself.

Insect/Spider bite help?

Hello, recently i have been getting a lot of bug bites all over my feet. the bites look like little red dots and they itch a lot...

today i saw a very small brown spider crawl across my keyboard, and by very small i mean that it was no bigger than a letter on a key...

i was unable to catch it or get a good look at it... but im pretty sure it was a spider...

can anyone identify this type of spider from the description?
also was this the likely cause of the bug bites?
and thirdly, how do i get rid of these spiders?

i live in upstate NY if that also helps identify the spider

Do I have a spider bite?

If this lump produced pus there is obviously some sort of infection present whatever caused it. The small holes could be a spider bite and if it is, it probably won't get well on its own and you need medical attention.

Bites like the brown recluse spider often do not hurt when they happen, but the toxins injected with the bite cause damage to the tissues and as these die, you can be left with a huge wound and a bad infection. Don't squeeze it any more! You need antibiotics and may also be given steroids, The small bump can turn into a hole several inches across and quite deep if not treated properly and my even need skin grafting.

Even if this is just an ordinary boil, it's very near your knee joint and you may need treatment to prevent spread to that area. YOu really need to have this seen as soon as possible.

I've had a brown recluse bite and it started out as a tiny bump I noticed just before leaving for work, which was the size of a quarter in just a couple of hours and had pus in less than another hour when I saw a doctor. Even starting treatment that soon I ha a nasty sore and have a nickel-sized scar. A coworker of mine had a bite on his calf he decided to treat himself that got to be the size of his hand and required several days in the hospital and eventually a skin graft, He lost some of the muscle tissue as well.

Please get seen as soon today as you can.

Spider bites.....?

Clean the site of the spider bite well with soap and water. Apply a cool compress over the spider bite location. Aspirin or acetaminophen (Tylenol, others) may be used to relieve minor signs and symptoms in adults. Don't give aspirin to children. Give children acetaminophen instead. Treatment in a medical facility may be necessary for children under 6 years old and for adults with severe signs and symptoms.

If bitten by a brown recluse or black widow spider:

If possible, make a positive identification. If the spider bite is on an arm or a leg, tie a snug bandage above the bite to help slow or halt the venom's spread. Ensure that the bandage is not so tight as to cut off circulation in the arm or the leg.
Use a cold cloth at the spider bite location. Apply a cloth dampened with cold water or filled with ice.

Seek immediate medical attention. Treatment for the bite of a black widow may require an anti-venom medication. Doctors may treat a brown recluse spider bite with corticosteroids.

Do spider bites have pus?

They can. If a foreign body was somehow embedded under the epidermis, the immune system will respond by sending antibodies to the site in an attempt to destroy the “invader". These antibodies present as pus in a wound cavity. The immune system will also respond this way to any venom that may have been injected, as it will also be considered a foreign body. If you have a halfway decent immune system (not compromised by drugs, disease or genetic factors), it usually isn't a problem, as this is your body telling you “I got this, bruh.” It can also present with some redness, swelling and increased temperature of the area. It is commonly referred to as “an infection" and, unless diagnosed by a doctor, is a generic term for these particular symptoms. In most cases, your body will handle it within a week and you'll be good as new. If it starts to spread, change color or pattern, or if the entire organism (you) begins to increase in temperature, it's time to see a doctor, as this is your body saying “I thought I had it, bruh!”

How do you know if you have a spider bite?

You see a doctor.A lot of what people diagnose as spider bites, particularly the bad ones, have nothing to do with spiders.Who, me?Unless you actually saw a spider, there’s a good chance that red, swollen patch is a Staphylococcus aureus infection.Without a doctor looking at it, it’s actually quite hard to tell the difference. S. aureus infections are less likely to be itchy and often eventually produce pus, but otherwise they have similar symptoms. Thus, if you have a “spider bite” that doesn’t go away fairly soon, you should have it looked at by a doctor.

Why is my spider bite hard?

My wife has a similar bite to yours about two weeks ago at night. It was painful, had a red dot with a raised circle around it that was pretty big. We watched it for about two days and made sure she didn't have a fever or other odd symptoms and that it didn't make a large ulcer. She works in a hospital and asked one of her doctors to take a look at it. He confirmed it was a spider bite and said to put Neosporin on it. This will help keep out any infections as it may blister a little bit as it heals.

The puss that you saw might just be the body attacking the venom. Just be sure that your puss doesn't continue to happen on a continual basis. This could be a sign of an infection. In such case you will need to see a doctor. Also continue to watch that it does not turn black or purple.

In all cases if anything continues for more than a week it would be advisable to see a doctor or a nurse-practitioner in your area. Seeing as you do not have insurance you may want to call around to see if any hospitals in your area do "flat-rate" clinics.

I hope this helps.

I have a weird spider bite, can anybody tell me what spider did it?

Well, earlier a small, very small brown spider crawled on my face. I tried swiping it off but was shaky and missed. It was on my chin, and it bit me as i tried to dispose of it. I can tell because i felt a prick, then i hit it and ran away. I didn't get a good look at it because i panicked and ran. Now, i have a very large bump on my chin, two small identifiable holes that are black, and it stings HORRIBLY. It feels like somebody is pressing a match against it. It's aching and stinging, its very sore. I live in the mid-west, northern Ohio if that helps. I don't think it's severe, because i have no symptoms of black widow or the brown recluse (only dangerous spiders native to here), actually, no other symptoms at all, but the bite hurts very bad and i was wondering if any of you know what did it? Thanks.

What should I do if I have a spider bite on my buttocks?

Some questions for you -How do you know that you have a spider bite on your butt? Did you find a squished spider in your shorts or sheets? Have you been crawling through tight cellar passages or attics? If you did see or find a spider, how much time elapsed between then and when you noticed whatever you’ve identified as a spider bite? And if you did find a spider, do you know what kind, at least to the Family level of identification? You also haven’t provided your location.Generally-speaking, 99.99% of the time my response would be: “Deal with the mild pain/inconvenience, equivalent to a boil or infected pimple on your bum, for 3–5 days and then get on with your life.”However, keep in mind:Telling the difference between a boil, an infection, a lesion, a bite and other such things when we’re dealing with very tiny creatures is not something you can just automatically know. Whatever’s on your butt may not be a bite at all.Even if it is a bite, there are a number of pest species of insect that deliberately bite humans, as well as other interesting creatures that aren’t spiders. So knowing whether it was a spider or not is kind of important in answering the question. There are a tiny number of species of spider in the U.S., which is where I’m assuming you live, that can potentially, though very rarely, cause a medically-significant situation. The number of harmless species dwarfs the harmful ones by a factor of several 1000s to 1, but it’s still possible. This is why the questions about finding a spider and what kind it was are important. In the absence of other information, I have to return to my original statement - barring the misfortune of being bitten by a recluse or a widow spider (and it’s important that if you have the spider in question, that you have it identified by someone capable. Spiders are not dog breeds, they cannot usually be identified to genus or species level by plain sight and both groups of spiders have similar-looking but harmless relatives), you would just deal with the slight “pain in the butt” and move on.And if you do have good reason to believe one of the few harmful species has bitten you, then you should seek preventative medical treatment.
