Hello This Is The First Time I Am Asking A Question Here Could Somebody Help Me With A And B

There is a girl staying in Dakar Senegal and she wants me to help her transfer her father's money. She is the next kin of her father. Is it a scam?

Let me guess, a 21 or 22 year old girl who was a first year student, wants your help to transfer 9.7 million dollars that belonged to her late father out of the country, and can't because she is a refugee.  And weirdly she keeps adding in facts that either enforce the image that she is vulnerable (21 year old orphaned girl, alone in a refugee camp, in a country rife with political instability); or encourage you to trust her (hard-working student, father a rich man, probably with the title of Doctor); or try to push the religion angle by talking about a church camp, or mentioning God a lot.You have a few options here.1. Transfer the money to her.  And then wait a week until she contacts you again asking for more money to sort out some difficulty in getting travel documents.  And then wait a bit longer until she contacts you again needing more money to help her out because of another difficulty.  And repeat ad infinitum until you either run out of money, or decide that actually in fact this is a scam, and that you'll never see the money, and that she'll (if it is even a "she") continue to come up with excuses to get money out of you.2.  Transfer the money to her or provide your bank account details.  Wait a few days until someone uses your details to transfer all the money out of your account.3.  Ignore the message because it is a scam.Only one of the above options does not involve you loosing your money. This kind of 419 scam (see: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nig... ) has been dubbed the "Senegal refugee scam" or the "Senegal Sweetheart scam" , as it always appears to be from a young female from Senegal.  It originates from West African scammers, and the scammer behind it is almost certainly not a 21 year old, and probably not female either.Want to find out more? here's a listing of similar scams http://www.419scam.org/419-penpa...And here's the results of one individual baiting this scam: http://forum.419eater.com/forum/...

Does any one say hello on the street anymore?

Ok so in honor of patzkys question and the many wonderful responses to it. I preformed a small experiment while on my lunch break today. I was in a grocery store (getting lunch at the deli) and I made it a point to make eye contact, smile and say hello to every person I could. The result? A few people avoided my gaze but I heard the hello in respose as they passed (even if they were already several steps behind me) Several people actually paused and said "hello how are you today" then "Im just fine how are you?" then conversations(a few sentences) about the weather or the road conditions ensued. The guy behind me in line even asked me how I got breakfast food instead of lunch and we talked about it for a few minutes. one lady told me about the veggie soup she would be making. No introductions and just a few sentences mind you but impressive! I was almost late back from my lunch break! I guess I dont really think about it that much when Im out and about but this town is very friendly. Possibly it could be attributed to the severe weather conditions? Im not sure but thank you patz for giving me the idea I think ill try it more often. I had a great lunch break!

On the other hand I do think people are quite fearful and avoid eye contact when ever they can. As some else has stated this is more prevalent in big cities. I dont think most people intend to be rude. I think they are just afraid to let thier gaurd down.

Why is it that some people just don't say hi unless you say hi first?

I’m a person like this. Depending on who it is, I don’t say hi to people unless they say it to me. Short answer, because I just don’t want to. Let me explain.I considered myself an extrovert, but I also don’t like people in general. I have my group of friends and I’ll be friendly if the situation requires, but I don’t like being super friendly with just anybody. Not to say I’ll be rude, I just don’t like treating everybody like my best friend. Here’s my best example. I work at a supermarket and I won’t say hi to every employee as I walk through the store. I don’t know everybodies name. If I accidentally catch someone’s eye, I’ll give a smile and nod. I only know the names of the managers and people I interact with and I try to keep it that way. But I’m not rude. If somebody asks me a question I’ll answer with a smile. I’m polite to customers and help them to find things or answer questions. In general, I’m of the mindset that I’m there to work and not make friends. When I worked as a waitress at a restaurant of course I tried to appear happier and smile more as the job demanded me to appear smiley and happy. Now if we’re talking about perfect strangers out on the street, I definitely avoid making eye contact. I don’t owe strangers anything, especially if I’m busy or in a rush. Smiling and saying hi to everybody is exhausting. If we’re at a party and I don’t know somebody, I might avoid saying hi first because I’m shy and I don’t really know how to make new friends. Or maybe I’m in a bad mood, or just tired. To sum all that up, people seem to get insulted when somebody won’t say hi to them first. It really isn’t about you though, and I mean that in the nicest way possible. People who don’t say hi unless approached have their own reasons for it and usually have nothing to do with anybody else specifically.

Need help for engineering homework?

Your answer for a is correct.

For b, observe that the truck with suspended mass will pivot about point B.
The tipping point occurs when the CCW moment of the suspended mass equals the CW moment of the truck's cg acting at distance 2000 from B
so 2900*Mmax * 9.8 = 2000 * 3200 kg * 9.8 and Mmax = 2207 kg

For c use E = Stress (in pa) / strain (ratio)
The stress is the force carried by the strand divided by its cross sectional area
