Help 8 Months Pregnant

Help! My 8 month old cat is PREGNANT!!!?

The best thing you can do for her is have her spayed. You are right, young cats can die in labor, but there are other issues to consider, including stillborn kittens, the cat not being willing to raise them, and other medical issues. It would be best for your beloved pet to have her spayed. Call your vet asap.

Mexxia, boy are you a little mixed up. Mother cats do not care if you go around the litter a little bit. If she shows signs of being uncomfortable, then stay way, but most welcome the attention. Your cat needs EXTRA care because of its age if you choose (and I hope you don't) to allow her to stay pregnant.

You have no business breeding if you are this uninformed, I am sorry to say. If you didn't know that a cat goes into heat at 4-6 months old, how do you expect to be a responsible breeder? You would be nothing but a backyard breeder, and that's just sad.

8 months pregnant, not feeling baby much - help?

redz, its interesting that you say that. I've been kind of worried/wondering if the baby will be early. I have quite a bit of pelvic pain and I have 2 complications (placenta previa and gestational diabetes). All these things combined I wondered if the baby would come early or not myself.

I was put on partial bed rest while I finish up my degree. I started spotting and put on full bedrest - but with only a couple of weeks to go I decided to finish up my degree and not screw up the rest of my life. The doctor is hesitant but is working with me.

I hope that he doesn't come early but I am definitely ready to have this baby :)

My 8 months pregnant mare got cast...?

Hi,
My 8 months pregnant standardbred mare just got cast in an outdoor shed...we freed her, but have no idea how long she was lying there. She has eaten, drank, and had a bowel movement...but I am very concerned about the baby. We see it moving around a lot (so I hope it is not in distress); at least we know it is alive (for the moment). She was lifting her tail quite a lot and presenting her vulva...but now it's subsided a bit and she is walking around with the other mares normally and doesn't seem to be in any distress. I have contacted my vet and he said there is nothing we could do except keep the baby in with hormone therapy (if it is dead there is no point to this obviously) and most likely she is fine. I am waiting for another vet to call me back with a second opinion. Should I be very worried??? Any advice or opinions are very welcome, please if you have had any similar experiences, do share your story with me. Thank you :).

8 months pregnant with pressure?

Well- welcome your baby into your pelvis. Im 39 weeks now and havent been able to put pants on without crying in a month, lol. All the ligaments and joints are loosening to prepare your body for labor. Its not comfy... I have found that sleeping with at least 6 pillows surrounding my body and between my knees has helped a bit. You may also start to notice now that you will waddle. Completely normal too. Just think, its almost the end of the road, yayy!!

Aside from using lots of pillows, you can try some squats and sitting with your legs in a butterfly position twice a day. This helps stretch those ligaments and will relax some of the pain. (but dont expect putting your pants on to be any easier- its my least favorite part of the day!)

My kitten is 8 months old and pregnant. Is this too young?

Cats can give birth successfully at 8 months old.The first pregnancy is always a bit risky, moreso if the cat is still growing herself. She needs enough nutrition for her own body to grow, as well as feeding her kittens, so make sure she gets enough quality food. She will not know what is happening to her and may be distressed when birth starts, so read up on what she will need, to make that as easy as possible for her. Expect a small litter, and some kittens may die. After mom has given birth, please have her spayed. It is better for her health, and you will not have an endless parade of kittens to find homes for. Below is Xena. She was rescued by a shelter at 9 months old, already with a passel of kittens. After the kittens were adopted she came to live with me. As you can see, she is a healthy, sassy kitty now, though she was a scrawny thing back then.. So early pregnancy does not necessarily mean anything bad for mom or her kittens. BUT Xena is spayed now, so she can live out the rest of her life without constantly getting pregnant, and won't be contributing more kittens to a rescue system that is already overloaded. Please be do that as soon as your kitty is medically ready for it.As for all those people going on about "teenage pregnancy" , there are times and places where 16 year old girls were expected to marry and start a family. We disapprove of it *socially* now; that does not mean 16-year-olds can't give birth successfully and be good mothers. So let's not go overboard on the human metaphors, here. Nature intended cats to start breeding by that age., and that's what they do if humans don't interfere.
