Help And Advice Needed With A Problem At University.

Need housing advice for Columbia University in NY!!?

I will be a graduate student at the Mailman School of Public Health at Columbia University in Fall 2015. Do most graduate Mailman students live on or off-campus? Can anyone recommend me cheap, safe places to stay near the school? I am a single male, and I would prefer either living by myself or 1 other person at the max. I am not interested in communal bathrooms.

Thanks for any help!

Need advice concerning College (CSUSB or ASU)?

I live about 20 minutes away from California State University San Bernardino and 5 hours away from Arizona State University. I want to major in Computer Science in hopes to become a video game designer. CSUSB would cost less to attend and i would be able to live at home versus the hassle and cost of living in a dorm at ASU. Would a bachelors degree from ASU be more appealing to employers than one from CSUSB? I basically just need advice on which college to attend, thanks for the help!

Boyfriend wants to join a fraternity, ADVICE NEEDED PLEASEEEE !?

My boyfriend and I have been together for 2 1/2 years. We have had some trust issues stemming from the very beginning of our relationship but lately things have been great!

We are both about to start our junior year in college and I am transferring to a university 4 hours away. (We were at the same school this past year). I am rushing a sorority at my new school because I consider myself a rather shy girl (or at least I have a hard time meeting people on my own, but once I get to know people I quickly become outgoing and comfortable).

Now my boyfriend is telling me he too, want to rush a fraternity, Pike, to be specific, which I know there rep at the school we were both at, and it isn't the greatest, they're the HUGEE partiers who get all the prettiest girls from the top sororities there. Greek life is pretty big at the school and its slightly less involved at the university I am transferring to.

Also, just as a side note; he has mentioned joining a frat in the past then would always decide a few months later it was stupid and he didn't see a point in joining one. So I partially feel like he's only joining one to spite me because he's mad at me for transferring away from him. He's always been incredibly independent and never been the guy who follows the crowd, he likes to do what he wants to do and thats that. I don't really understand where this is coming from, but if I try to say anything I just get yelled at or hung up on and called selfish since I'm rushing too.

I just want to know how we can make this work! I know I love the kid to death it's honestly the frat he is choosing to rush that I have the biggest issue with :/

Any advice, help, etc would be helpful! Thanks!

What advice would you give to a Computer Science major student that you wish you were given when you started learning Computer Science?

Never rely on your education only. Classes are can sometimes be too bland or too theoretical. A lot of CS programs don't even teach what you will do working in the industry.Take Math and problem solving seriously. You use the same skills in programming every day.Focus on the big picture generally - learn the big concepts of computer science, don't get caught up in language specific details.Polish your communication skills. Never excuse yourself to not be social and outgoing because you are a 'computer science nerd'.Work on a balanced healthy lifestyle in eating and exercising. Do not give the excuse again of 'I'm a computer science nerd'.Work on side projects/other interests. The best programmers don't only program. They learn about other topics they are interested in. Programming/Computer science is only a tool like writing or speaking; it must be applied to some area. Forget GPA. Keep above a 3.0 or 3.5 if you must. Work on programming Go to hackathons. Two points for this - socializing, networking, working on projects.Always try and apply for things you don't think you are qualified for. Do not skip out on the career fair, especially if you are a freshman. Be informed of programs like Google Engineering Practicum and Google Summer of Code.Talent is overrated as always. Think of the best programmer you know. A year of hard work can put you on their level.Start competitive programming as early as possible. Master one programming language for interviews.Concepts in computer science aren't mastered in one go. Repetition is important. Consider being a TA for a class. Patience is key to intuition.Have an online presence and blog.Work on hot area topics. Make some apps in data science, machine learning, computer vision, or map reduce just for experience.Work on a fast breadth-first search rather than a fast depth-first search. Do research. Then work for a big company. Then work for a startup. Then work on nonprofits/open source.

After installation the Sims 2 university it keeps asking about the CD even when it's already inside?

The other two posters are correct in that you need to make sure you have the CD for your LATEST (in terms of date of release) EP in the drive for the game to run. If you have OFB and are trying to run the game from the University disk, the game will not run, you need the OFB disk in.

However, if the problem is that it's not running and University is the only EP you have, this is a recurrent problem when installing new EPs - it's annoying. I've never had a problem myself and so don't know the solution but *think* there's some advice over at the main sims site. I rarely direct people there for help (since they're so useless generally, advice is usually: uninstall and reinstall - pfft) but it's a common enough problem that they've had to address it.

University, BTW, is known to have installation issues if you install it after later EPs.

If you don't get any joy, try searching at Mod the Sims 2 or MATY for an answer:
