Help Blood When I Go For A Pool

Is it safe to swim in a pool with an open cut? Why or why not?

It is probably safe, but it is also pretty gross and rude if this is a public pool you are planning on entering and the cut is anything that required more than a band-aid to cover.  Most pools actually have posted rules prohibiting people from entering if they have unhealed wounds or rashes of any nature. From a wound care perspective, you are probably slowing the healing process by exposing the granulation tissues to chlorine, bromine, oxygen, or whatever the pool uses for a sterilization system.

Would a salt water swimming pool will raise your blood pressure, is not salt on the water for the skin to absorb ?

Your body does not absorb salt through the skin easily. If you have a cut or scrape, it's possible, but the amount absorbed it still exceptionally low, to the point where it can't even be properly measured.

That's why so many pool companies are now advising people to get salt water pools - or swim in the ocean if possible - instead of getting a traditional chlorinated pool. It's easier on the skin and it's easier on the eyes (no goggles needed, our eyes are surrounded in salt water all the time).

A salt water pool is usually lower maintenance, too...since you're not constantly having to add all those chemicals to it.

You do still need to shower after a dip as the salt is just as bad for your hair as chlorine is, though. When swimming for long periods (4+ hours a day), salt can also dry out the skin, as well as the hair...but a typical swim (a few minutes to a couple hours) shouldn't have any effect on the skin.

Is it okay to go in a pool on the 5th day of my period?

I think you will be fine to swim tomorrow. Usually by the fifth day, your period should be very light to just spotting. Just wear a clean panty liner or thin pad inside your swim bottoms and change it as soon as you get out. Have fun tomorrow. BTW, I am the mother of 2 girls, one of which has just started her period this last year as well.

Can I go to swim practice after giving blood?

I would ask the administrator of the blood drive what they would recommend. I believe you should be fine, but ask people in the medical profession, or maybe your swim coach. I personally wouldn't want to do that because you wont feel your best. I see no reason why you would want to put yourself through that. Take Friday off, after all it is Friday and you will have plenty of more opportunities to practice since the season has just started!

Can I go swimming after a blood test? (Read the little more detail section)?

There would be no harm in swimming almost immediately.

Can I go swimming after a blood test? (Read the little more detail section)?

I had my blood test at 11 AM, it's been roughly 4 hours now. I'm planning to go in another 1-2 hours. Should I go swimming? Also they took 3 tubes of blood out of me

Class Trip+Pool+Period= ???

You should test the tampon idea first. It doesnt hurt, read the instructions in the box, and make sure to get tampons with the applicators. When I was first testing tampons ..I did not put it in all the way and it was so uncomfortable and I hated it. But later on I actually read the instructions and I had not put it far enough in. Things are going to be new and wierd down there for a little while but you just need to find what is easiest. As far as being a virgin I used tampons for years when I was a virgin, and everything is fine, they are cleaner and you can go swimming on your period with them ..otherwise.. I dont know what you can do, it doesnt hurt to try something new..really.

How long after blood donation can one go for light swimming?

You will be fine. You are waiting more than 24 hours between donation and swimming.Be sure to drink lots of fluids the day of, as well as the day before and the day after, you donate so that you are well hydrated. Your fluids will be replenished by the time you are ready to swim. If you are sufficiently hydrated, you can even go for a very light swim the same day:Can I Exercise After Donating Blood? The American Red Cross recommends that regular blood donors avoid strenuous exercise and heavy lifting for the remainder of the day of the donation. This is primarily to give your body a chance to replenish the fluid portion of the blood donated. While strenuous exercise should be avoided, you don't have to sit in a chair all day. After you've had a chance to drink some fluids, you might enjoy some light to moderate activity if you feel up to it, such as a brisk walk, a swim or a casual bike ride. Drinking plenty of fluids before and after your donation helps you avoid dehydration. You may also find it helpful to ingest some carbohydrates immediately after you give blood. Most blood donation sites offer beverages and snacks to donors.

Is it safe to swim in a chlorinated pool with hemorrhoids?

Hemorrhoids are, basically, distended veins, whether external or internal. The normal amouint of Chlorine in a pool should not bother them - it might, in fact, cause some relief. If they are broken, however, you would be well advised to stay out of pools, keeping them as dry and clean as possible.
