Help with finding a college.?

I look to earn a major in marine biology, but I can't seem to find the right school. I have plenty of time. I am starting my sophomore year, but I want to start preparing early. I would like to know the top school in the country for this degree. I also would like to know about some colleges outside of the U.S. My aim is to go to one of the best schools for marine biology.

Help Finding a Job After College?

I'm a recent graduate from Indiana University with a degree in Informatics and minor in Information Technology. I have been in the job search process since last November and am having little luck in finding anything. I was strung along by a company I interviewed at for months before they finally told me the position would no longer exist, and more recently I was 2nd place out of 50 applicants for another job.

Anymore, I am struggling to find anything for my experience level (0 years) as most companies are looking for someone with at least 3 years experience. I have posted my resume on different sites and have been contacted by companies throughout the country, though I am only looking for jobs in Chicago, New York City, or San Francisco. Basically, I'm stuck and need some guidance as to where to go to find jobs I actually qualify for.

I need YOUR help with finding a college?

Hi I'm looking at colleges (only a hs junior) and I am trying to find the best value. My family really can't afford to help me pay for my college tuition so I want to keep the cost below $25,000 a year including room and board. The best school I found so far is U of MN TC. It costs my sister only $20,000 a year so I was wondering if there are other schools that offer this quality of education but are still relatively affordable.

Need help finding a college.. boston area?

Boston College and Harvard are the only division one schools that are really close to Boston - and both have "real" campuses.

The main campus of the University of Massachusetts, in Amherst, is almost two hours away from Boston, and it's got division one sports. Their football team just moved to a new conference and they have an arena for college and hockey. Their sports teams aren't as huge as a lot of schools, but it is division one and they have every major sport. It's a good school, with a nice campus, and Amherst is one of the best college towns in the country. Even though it's almost two hours away from Boston, it's easy to get to Boston as there are several buses, a couple of different highways heading into Boston.

*Portable storage drawers for under the bed. You can use the drawers for clothes, linens, or extra papers.

*You will have so many books and need somewhere to put them. We used to use milk crates and now they are also colorful to work with your bedding. Put some pre made shelves in between the crates and you have shelves.

*If the closet is wide enough , get a hanging bar for double hanging your clothes. You can also get a hanging basket system for clothes.

*Also for the closet, a shoe rack holder so you don't have shoes all over the floor taking up valuable space.

*Most dorm rooms have a very cold linoleum floor, get a great looking area rug to coordinate with your bedding.

*Most dorm rooms only have a big overhead fluorescent light, add a good looking lamp for beside the bed and one for your desk.

*4 sets of sheets

*Duvet or coverlet (extra soft)

*Fitted mattress pad and blanket

*Pillows

*Large area rug

*Remember your bed will be used for everything go with darker color so its not totally dirty and stained.

Help finding a laptop for college?

I am going off to college next year and I my parents offered to get me a new laptop. Some of the things we're looking for are:
- a good price and reliability
- something that can be used for everyday/college work
- something that will be able to run programs like Autodesk Maya, Adobe Photoshop, and similar programs because I will be working with animation and 3D art.
Another thing that I would personally like is a computer that will be able to run/handle games because I am a big video game person. :)

Is there a good laptop for me out there or at least a good place to start looking?

Need help finding a college Major ?

If you want to work in advertising, obviously Marketing would be a useful major for you. In that industry, a solid knowledge in Graphic Design is pretty much a must, so most beneficial for you would probably be a double major. A philosophy minor is helpful in pretty much anything you want to do in the future because it helps you develop critical thinking skills (companies want people who can think).

It really depends on what you like and what you want to do when you graduate college. You're still a junior; you have a lot of time and can (and probably will) change your mind more than once. Don't get too stressed out about it all. Your major is more like something you want to study more in-depth; unless you want to be a nurse or teacher, what you major in doesn't matter all that much--it's the college degree that matters. Do something you enjoy and do it well. That's my best advice for you.

Good luck with everything and study hard.

In the US a college degree is very helpful in finding a job. Very few people with a college degree are involuntarily unemployed. Our problem is not unemployed college grads. It is that almost half of our recent college grads are under employed, and that’s not a good situation. Nobody goes to college to become a barista. When you add student loan debt to the equation, the results can be disastrous.Thomas B Walsh's answer to Is it worth getting a college degree?

Need help finding a college with graphic design?

I am 25 now and graduated high school in 2003 and never attended college due to the fact that I wasn't sure what I wanted to study at that time. But now that I know I need help finding the right college for my education.

I would like to earn a bachelor’s degree studying graphic design as well as gain knowledge of computer design software, particularly those with web site design, 3D modeling and possibly animation, this way I can have a wide range of job opportunities.

I live in Ky so I would prefer a college here but if there is a better college in one of the surrounding states that would better suit me please feel free to add it to the list. Both colleges with or without a broad liberal arts education are fine. Money is a factor here as well but go ahead and include every school for this degree you can think of so that I can see what all my choices are.
