Help From People Who Have Seen 1408

Help! Info on movie : 1408?

I watch the movie 1408 about that evil room that people die in.
There was one part at the end I didn't under stand, help please.
He was on the phone and a ladys voice says his wife is on the way. Then she says somthing like " five, this is five, ignore the siren even if you leave this room you can never leave this room. Eight this is eight, weve killed your friends every friend is now dead" Who or what is or do they mean by five this is five and eight this is eight?????

SPOILERS: What are your theories about 1408, the movie? What did you like/dislike/disbelieve?

I seem to remember Jackson saying that one hotel maid "only" blinded herself with a pair of scissors (he said she got trapped in the room's bathroom for a few minutes), but he didn't say anything about her dying, so maybe she was one of the survivors. I thought the same thing too, about the hotel not closing up the room forever, but Jackson said something about the hotel owners not wanting to admit to believing in haunted rooms so they refused to seal off the room. I guess the only thing he as the manager could do was try to convince people not to book that room, but he couldn't refuse Cusack outright because of the owner's policy.

As far as Jackson giving Cusack the alcohol as a lifeline I wondered the same thing myself, especially towards the end when Jackson was saying, "Well done, Mr. Enslin." But that and some of the other things you mentioned led me to go straight to my library and request the story "1408". I'm hoping once I read that I'll have a better understanding of the film.

What I liked about the movie: how it built up to the scares rather slowly, and didn't just jump right into it. What I didn't like: the ending. I mean, he plays the tape, hears the little girl's voice and looks at his wife? I wanted something a little more dramatic. Did you?

Would you rather help someone who needs it most, or someone who deserves it most?

I would rather help someone who deserves it the most. People might disagree with me. But there is a scarcity of resources in this world. We all have to make certain choices. If two people need food, then the person who is willing to learn skills and earn money for the food should get it. It’s how the world works. Even if a person is poor and desperately needs money, they have to put in some kind of effort to get money.

Can anyone explain the plot and ending of the movie 1408?

PLOT:

Writer is bummed because his young daughter died. He fears that there's no afterlife and Heaven/Hell are just stories we tell our kids. He searches for proof of ghosts or other supernatural activity. He writes books about it. He gets a lead on a room at the Dolphin Hotel, Room 1408, and goes to spend the night. He finds his proof.

ENDING:

Mike gets out of the room by setting fire to it. The room has to let the firemen in to save Mike in order to save itself.

He really got out of the room. Once the fireman opened the door, the room lost it's power over Mike Enslin. The wife never got near the room! She was stuck in a taxi then, when she got there, the fire alarm had already gone off and everyone was being evacuated. She was outside the building, they weren't letting people in, and she looked up to see the windows blow out of the room because of the fire when the door was opened.

Mike got a grim smile when the tape recorder played because that proved it wasn't all in his head, that he hadn't been drunk or imagining things when he heard his daughter's voice. It proves something supernatural happened.

What does it mean to keep seeing angel numbers (1111, 333, 444, etc.) everywhere after you had a break up with someone you love or had a connection with?

Quota won't let me extend my question but here's a back ground: I prayed for a specific girl with specific qualities to come into my life last year. 3 days later on October 29th this beautiful girl walked into my job and we exchanged numbers and started talking all day, every single day. we texted each other the “i miss yous” and “be safes” but she always texted me first. A few months later I fell for her and it was nothing like my relationships before. this is real, pure, unconditional love. I found out she was still dealing with her ex and that's when shit hit the fan. we started arguing every day and i got tired of it and started taking breaks from her to heal. eventually we stopped talking because it was too much for the both of us. not even two weeks later before hurricane irma hit us, she texted me “"be safe during the hurricane *2 pink hearts emoji*”. but ever since we haven't talked. I know it sounds crazy as hell but sometimes i think i can feel when she thinks about me or misses me. every time when i'm thinking about her or the situation i see 11:11, 1:11 on the clock or a random license plate or even on the radio i heard “eleven eleven”. it's getting annoying now but i really want to know what this means.

Room 1408- 2 endings?

I have seen 1408 multiple times with the ending of him living at the end but just recently on TV I saw the version where he dies? Just wondering if anyone knows why there are 2 different endings?

1408 has 2 movies with 2 endings?

I saw the dvd. In the movie he is rescued and later plays the tape recorder he took with him and his wife hears the child they lost, and he slightly smiles at her. It has 2 alternate endings - in one he dies in the fire, in the other he is rescued and plays the tape, but only he hears the child, his wife is busy doing other things and isn't listening.
