Is it possible to crack the UGC NET in history in fifty days?

Yes it is!I cleared my NET in history in July 2018. It took me only around 50–60 days to complete the syllabus and revise the topics. Eventhough I started reading th basic books in January 2018,the real preparation started in May only.I was aware of my time constraints and decided to stay back in the university for 2 more months even though all my friends left after graduation. Thus I was able to study as long as I wanted without any distractions. The first thing I did was download the UGC paper 1 and paper 2 syllabus. When I read the syllabus I realized that UGC only asks questions from the topics mentioned in the syllabus. Then I read page to page the very basic books and made notes:Ancient India- R.S SharmaMedieval India- Satish ChandraModern India- Bipan ChandraThere's a popular belief that Upinder Singh is the best one for Ancient India, but trust me,its a waste of time as the books is as big as an encyclopedia and takes around 1 month to complete. I started reading Upinder but then stopped because I felt R.S Sharma is more than enough and it turned out to be true!I also refered some notes by Prof. Kumar but it was very limited. And I googled the rest of the topics which were not covered by these books. Please don't waste your time reading other books such as Habib, Thapar, Krishna Reddy and various other guides etc etc. These 3 basic books + google will save you. Trust me!Everyday I used to strick off the topics I covered from the syllabus and it really kept me going. The exam was tough as usual but I was able to score way more than the required cut off and it was only because I stook to the syllabus and the basics books.

Is it good to pay off the home loan as early as possible?

Prepaying or foreclosing Home Loans can be good if planned well and timed right. Here’s a breakdown of the pros and cons to help you decide for yourself:ProsDuring the repayment tenure, the EMI stays fixed but the amount of interest and principal being repaid are changing- initially, the EMI consists mostly of the interest, and less of the principal and vice versa in the later years of the tenure. Therefore, prepaying a loan in the initial years is more profitable than in the later years. In case of Home Loans with a floating interest rate (i.e. the interest rate keeps changing throughout the tenure), banks and NBFCs do not charge any prepayment or foreclosure charges as per the case. So, there are no additional charges when prepaying or foreclosing loans. The amount prepaid in favor of your Home Loan is eligible for tax benefits under Section 24B as it comes under the ambit of interest repayment.ConsPrepaying Home Loans with fixed interest rates entail prepayment charges; same is the case for loan foreclosure. These charges amount to about 1-3%, depending on the bank or NBFC.Home Loan repayment provides collective tax benefits of up to Rs 3.5 lakhs per financial year (maximum of Rs 1.5 lakhs for principal and Rs 2 lakhs for interest repayment). With loan foreclosure, these tax benefits will no longer be applicable.Reference Read:Points to Keep in Mind When Closing Home LoanHome loan Tax Exemptions and Benefits
