What is a good English to European Portuguese translation website? I have a friend who lives in Portugal and I want to surprise them by learning some Portuguese! The most famous translation website is Google Translate[1]. It is free and translates from many into many languages. It translates from English into Portuguese too. But most translations are into Brazilian Portuguese.I have found a free website too. All translations I tried were into European Portuguese.FreeTranslation.comIf you want to learn European Portuguese, BBC has some (paid) courses available. Their website had many free resources but it is no longer maintained.Learn Portuguese with free online lessonsIf you have doubts about words/expressions/sentences, there are plenty of European Portuguese speakers, native and non-native, on Quora who may help you.Footnotes[1] Google Translate
If you know Portuguese please help translate these couple words, or direct me to site that can THANK YOU?
Most of these words are slang in brazilian portuguese, which makes it a lot harder to find their meanings. But here goes what I managed to find out: Biboca = a house or a place that is very poor and kind of hidden, hard to get to Garagem = garage Favela = a very particular kind of slum that can be found in many brazilian big cities, but mostly in Rio de Janeiro and São Paulo Fubanga = ugly and easy woman Maloca = indian hut Bocada = a great opportunity to get something for free or extremely cheap, sometimes in an illegal/dishonest way porra = damn it
I need this translated into Brazilian Portuguese? Very simple...?
Feliz aniversário! Nós te amamos!
Where can I find a European Portuguese to English translator?
What kind of level of translation are you looking for? Do you need professional level, perhaps even a certified translation? Then I do recommend the company I work for, Translation Services USA . We will certainly be able to help you out.If you want a free translation, but want to have better quality than machine translation, go with crowdsourcing. It's still free, but much better quality. You can get that at Ackuna.com - Translate Mobile Apps.

Abundance, Success, and Love ... Abundantia, Prosperitas (Profectus), et Amor "Prosperitas" would be the better choice for "Success" but "Profectus" can also be used.
Need to double-check Google Translate results?
I think google tranlator cannot handle the difference between Japanese and English/Portuguese. Japanese is so different from those languages. Find Yourself 自分自身を探せ(jibun jishin wo sagase), 自分を探せ(jibun wo sagase), 自分自身を見つけろ(jibun jishin wo mitsukero), 自分を見つけろ(jibun wo mitsukero) Be Yourself 自分らしくあれ(jibun rashiku are), 自分自身でいろ(jibun jishin de iro) Love Yourself 自分を愛せ(jibun wo aise), 自分自身を愛せ(jibun jishin wo aise), 自身を愛せ(jishin wo aise) Be Happy お幸せに(o shiawase ni), 幸せでいて(shiawase de ite), 幸せになって(shiawase ni natte) I don't know Portuguese, sorry.
A site for (Brazilian) Portuguese slang?
E aí, brother...Tudo tranks? You didn't mention whether you wanted bilingual or monolingual translations ... or both....? Here's a little of both: For a list of translations of BP slang, in addition to Sonia's site, which Raquel recommended, there's: http://www.go2la.org/cultural/south-amer... As far as a list of casual or colloquial--but not necessarily slang (and definitely not vulgar)--phrases goes, there's: http://www.sk.com.br/sk-idiom.html It's written with Braz. students of English in mind, but it has the Braz. equivalent of the phrase next to the English translation. For "bad words": DICIONÁRIO DE PALAVRÕES: PORTUGUÊS (B)--INGLÊS extensive glossary of bad words, translated from BP to English http://amigoz.vilabol.uol.com.br/id171.h... This one has "bad words" in English, translated to BP: http://www.geocities.com/siliconvalley/office/6112/****.html (The site's author said that he created it so that people going to the States could cuss out the Americans. Lovely...The funny thing/sad thing is that his English isn't very good, so it is much more useful for cussing out Brazilians. Not that I want to! I'm moving there soon.) For monolingual sites (BP slang "translated" into regular BP): http://www-isia.cma.fr/~jch/bresil/curso_portugues/expressoes/expressoes.html (Idiomatic expressions) http://pt.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lista_de_g%C3%ADrias#Brasil http://pt.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lista_de_g%C3%ADrias#Brasil_e_Portugal http://www.geocities.com/Area51/Quadrant/6996/dicionariodegirias.htm How about joining us at "Awful Portuguese"? ("Awful" not in the sense of 4-letter words, but in the sense that we're learners.) We have lots of helpful sites and helpful members. Check us out here: http://groups.yahoo.com/group/awfulportuguese/
