Help I Think I Ate A Chicken Bone

My dog ate a chicken bone.?

My dog just grabbed and ate (I'm not sure if it was whole or if he chewed it up) a chicken bone (just one from a broiled/grilled wing) out of the garbage. Please don't lecture me on how bad this is, I REALIZE it is bad and I know they aren't supposed to have cooked chicken bones. It was an accident. What I want to know is, what are the statistics on when dogs eat a cooked chicken bone - how many live without vet's help. I do not have the money for emergency care. Is there anything I can do for him?? He is an 86 pound lab mix and has eaten an avocado and a large piece of chocolate cake before with no bad effects.

Help, my dog ate chicken bones!?

Yes, if he seems OK, he probably is and probably will be. A lot of people get excited when their dogs get cooked chicken bones, but usually it is without cause and nothing bad happens. I'd just be aware of how he is acting, and I might watch his stools tomorrow. Any blood and then I would advise a vet visit. But again, it's highly unlikely that that will happen.

I have an older dog that will eat a whole bucket of Kentucky Fried Chicken, and nothing bad will happen to her. She has been eating every kind of bone imaginable for years and never a problem.

Good luck.

Help! My dog ate chicken bones and threw up?

Okay, well first of all, I have a Jack Russel and Wiener dog mix. As I opened the door last night, I saw her on my dining room table with a chicken wing in her mouth, she popped open the box and ate all the chicken in the box including the meat/bones. I was a little worried at first but she seemed okay, then as I was taking her back to my other house she started throwing up. It isn't anything out of the ordinary because she normally gets car sick but as I took her out the backseat the WHOLE backseat was filled with chicken and bones and it wasn't like regular throw up, it sort of had a red liquid to it. I'm not sure what to do, I haven't fed her yet today but she seems to be acting normal.

HELP dog just ate chicken bones!!?

my dad left a giant piece of chicken that was mostly bones on the kitchen counter and our lab pup just ate the entire thing, bones n all. she chewed it too, i tried to get it out of her mouth but it was too late. what do i do?!

(Please Help!) My puppy just ate chicken bone?

if she starts acting weird i would take her to the vet.
she threw up, mabe good.

she pooped,
good.

as long as there not blood in it and its solid.
if she pooped she should be ok. because that means it probly didnt poke holes in anything or didnt clogg anything.
this might sound gross, but if you see bones in her puke, shes probly ok.
my dog got into a whole trash can of chiken bones and we took him to the vet and he said since he threw up and pooped and all he was ok.

My dog (pomeranian) ate a chicken bone, helpl pls!?

Take a breather here, relax i have 3 Pomeranian, (brats) my smallest one is 4 pounds and she is the one who scares me the most, she acts as if i have taught her no discipline, she has gotten bones and eaten chocolate and sent me through panics. my vet told me the chances of her getting injured by the bones were slim cause poms have small mouths and cannot swallow large pieces so with a small dog they tend to chew their food to a size they can swallow and if the pom is 3-4 lbs i think she/he will be fine, chances of there being a trauma will happen within the first 30 minutes, after that she/he should be fine. Poms think they are as big as rottweilers but they are not so they have to be watched when it comes to putting stuff in their mouths.

What should I do if I swallow a chicken bone?

If you don’t feel anything wrong as like feeling pain during swallowing or swallowing difficulty there is nothing to be worried about. If you have swallowing difficulty, drink water then you can get rid of it. After that if it still be there, it can be seen on your throat by look or X-ray, you should visit ER. If it is localised a place to be removed easily, it can be removed by a doctor or by ENT procedure easily, it depends on its location, but this is very unusual scenerio. Even if you’ve swallowed the bone, it would have passed through your throat and keeps its journey. It is so rare even nearly impossible a chicken bone can cause any harm to your gastrointestinal system but I don’t know what kind of a bone or what was its size. If you feel any pain on your stomach or abdomen, you should visit ER too. If it is big bone, maybe it can be seen on X-ray, if you go ER, doctors will keep you under medical observation and perform frequently abdominal exam, if any sign of perforation they see, you should be surgical operated, but this scenario is so so imposible to any chicken bone can cause. But I have to say, you should be aware.
